Quick answer
- Hilton all inclusive resorts are a small but growing group: Hilton Cancun, Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe, Hilton Tulum, Hilton Vallarta Riviera, several Curio Collection resorts, and since October 1, 2026, Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum.
- Marriott has the most all-inclusive brands of the big chains, led by Royalton and Planet Hollywood, plus Luxury Collection, Autograph Collection, Westin and Marriott-branded resorts; elite members get extras such as cocktail parties and premium-drink discounts.
- Best per brand in our research: Hilton Cancun (Hilton), Royalton Splash for value (Marriott), JOIA Bávaro (Iberostar and IHG), Riu Palace Jamaica (RIU, reopening December 2026 after a renovation), Hard Rock Punta Cana, Moon Palace Cancun (Palace), Excellence Punta Cana and Barceló Bávaro Beach.
- For points, Hyatt's fixed all-inclusive chart is still the most predictable; Hilton says it adds no extra fees on award stays; IHG members earn and redeem at participating Iberostar resorts.
- Price tiers run from about $155 a night (Barceló's Occidental, Punta Cana, September) to more than $1,100 at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana at peak.
- Hyatt and Sandals are the two biggest all-inclusive specialists; see our Hyatt Inclusive Collection and Sandals guides for those brands.
Our verdict
Our verdict: pick the program first, then the resort
If you already collect hotel points, start there, because a single award stay at an all-inclusive can be worth more than a year of credit-card bonuses. Hilton has the smallest lineup but the friendliest award terms; Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort (4.6 on Tripadvisor) is its best family resort and Hilton Vallarta Riviera (8.6/10 on Kayak) its best Pacific option. Marriott has the widest choice, from budget-friendly Royalton Splash Punta Cana to Luxury Collection resorts such as Sanctuary Cap Cana. IHG members should look at Iberostar, where JOIA Bávaro scores 4.8 on Tripadvisor and 9.3 on Kayak.
If you do not collect points, judge each resort on its own. Barceló Bávaro Beach is the value pick, Hard Rock Punta Cana gives the most activities per dollar in a sale, and Excellence Punta Cana is the most polished adults-only resort here. Our verdicts are based on Tripadvisor and Kayak ratings, Kayak's 12-month price data, brand websites and guest-review patterns; we have not stayed at these resorts.

Hilton all-inclusive resorts: the 2026 lineup, pricing and Honors perks
Hilton's all-inclusive collection is compact. Its all-inclusive directory in October 2026 listed Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort, Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe, Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya and Hilton Vallarta Riviera in Mexico; Curio Collection resorts including Amare Cancun (adults-only, added with Fuerte Group in 2026), Zemi Miches in the Dominican Republic and Mangrove Beach Corendon in Curaçao; and resorts in Greece and Turkey (Hilton).
The big 2026 change is luxury. On October 1, 2026, Hilton moved Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya to all-inclusive; from January 10, 2027 the Waldorf becomes adults-only, while the Conrad keeps families and adds an adults-only Ceiba Club (Hilton). Note also what is missing: Hilton's directory no longer lists Hilton Rose Hall, Hilton La Romana or Hilton Playa del Carmen, three resorts that were owned by Playa Hotels before Hyatt bought Playa in 2025, so check current branding before booking those properties.
Hilton all-inclusive resorts pricing
Tripadvisor's partner rates for Hilton Cancun ran $328 to $786 a night for a standard room in October 2026, and Kayak's 12-month averages at Hilton Vallarta Riviera ran from $425 (June) to $563 (December). That puts Hilton in the upper-middle tier: above RIU and Barceló, below Hyatt Zilara or the Luxury Collection.
Honors benefits
Hilton lists early check-in and late check-out for all tiers, a welcome letter and cocktail reception for Silver and above, a 15 percent spa discount, a welcome amenity for Gold and Diamond, and turndown for Diamond. It also states there are no additional fees when you book with points. An optional Enclave tier adds private check-in, a lounge, exclusive pools and priority restaurant reservations. In 2026 Hilton also ran a Kids & Teens Stay Free offer for up to two under-18s per room on three-night stays (Hilton).

1Best Hilton
Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort
South of Cancun's Hotel Zone, Quintana Roo, Mexico
$328–$786 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room, taxes not included, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Hilton Cancun is the strongest all-inclusive in Hilton's lineup for most travelers, and the one we would book with Honors points. It holds 4.6 on Tripadvisor across 5,738 reviews and a 2026 Travelers' Choice award, with service and cleanliness sub-scores of 4.6 and 4.7. Hilton lists 12 restaurants and bars, three pools and kids' and teens' clubs, and the 715-room resort sits on a large, quiet site about 5.8 miles from Cancun's airport.
It is also where Hilton's family promotions land: the resort was part of the 2026 Kids & Teens Stay Free offer, and Hilton says award stays carry no extra fees. Reviewers praise named staff, food variety and careful handling of allergies.
The weak spot is the sea. Recent guests say sargassum can make swimming impractical in season, several mention broken pool tiles, and the resort is isolated from Hotel Zone nightlife. If calm water matters more than the resort itself, consider Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe in the Hotel Zone instead.
Skip it if You want walk-out-the-door nightlife or guaranteed calm, clear sea.
Our category scores
Pros
- Hilton's best-rated family all-inclusive
- No extra fees on Honors award stays
- Excellent service and allergy-aware dining
- Close to Cancun airport
Cons
- Sargassum affects swimming in season
- Pool tile damage reported
- Isolated from Hotel Zone restaurants
- Rooms

- Dining
- 12 restaurants and bars (Hilton)
- Loyalty
- Hilton Honors; no extra fees on points stays

- Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice 2026
What guests say
October 2026 reviewers single out attentive staff by name, varied food from the buffet to a taco food truck, and kitchens that handled allergies carefully.
Guests warn that seaweed can make the sea unsuitable for swimming and report broken or missing pool tiles.
2Best Hilton on the Pacific
Hilton Vallarta Riviera All-Inclusive Resort
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico
$425–$563 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates (cheapest June, priciest December), seen Oct 2026
Our take
Hilton Vallarta Riviera is the Hilton we would pick on Mexico's Pacific coast. It scores 8.6 out of 10 across 926 Kayak ratings and 4.5 on Tripadvisor across 9,753 reviews, and its Kayak review summary is dominated by one theme: 30 reviews praise the incredible view from every room, helped by a hillside setting above the bay. Hilton lists 14 restaurants and bars, two oceanfront infinity pools and a spa, and guests enjoy the entertainment team and pool volleyball.
Its prices are steadier than the Caribbean's: Kayak's 12-month averages ran from $425 a night in June to $563 in December, with November flagged as high season. It is about 7.7 miles from Puerto Vallarta's airport and close to Playa de los Muertos and the Romantic Zone.
The complaints are moderate: a few reviewers want more dining options, the pool music can be loud all day, the layout and elevators confuse first-timers, and premium spirits cost extra by the day. Book it for views and an easy Hilton Honors stay; head into town for at least a couple of dinners.
Skip it if You want a long, flat Caribbean-style beach or a quiet pool scene.
Our category scores
Pros
- Ocean views from the rooms praised in 30 reviews
- 14 restaurants and bars and two infinity pools (Hilton)
- Steady pricing through the year
- Close to Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone
Cons
- Loud pool music during the day
- Confusing layout and elevators
- Premium alcohol costs extra
- Dining
- 14 restaurants and bars (Hilton)
- Pools
- Two oceanfront infinity pools (Hilton)
- Airport
- About 7.7 miles from Puerto Vallarta International (Kayak)

What guests say
Incredible view from all rooms.
Very loud music at the pool all day.
Guests like the entertainment staff and food but say the layout is confusing, a few more dining options would help, and premium drinks require a daily upgrade.
3Best Marriott value
Royalton Splash Punta Cana, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$190–$456 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Royalton Splash is the most affordable way into Marriott Bonvoy's all-inclusive collection that we found, which makes it our Marriott value pick even though it is not the brand's highest-rated resort. Tripadvisor's partner rates ran $190 to $456 a night in October 2026, it scores 4.3 across 16,201 reviews, and families love the water park, pools and 24-hour room service. Bonvoy members earn and can redeem points, and elites get Marriott's all-inclusive extras.
Know the trade-offs. A Tripadvisor forum regular describes Splash as the lowest Royalton tier and says the beach is about a 10-minute walk through sister resort Royalton Punta Cana. Reviews repeatedly describe better service and restaurants for Diamond Club guests, plus dated rooms, loud air conditioning and timeshare pitches on the beach.
For a higher-end Marriott, look at Sanctuary Cap Cana (4.7 on Tripadvisor) or Royalton CHIC Cancun (4.5). For water-park-age kids on a budget, Splash is hard to beat in the Bonvoy family.
Skip it if You want beachfront rooms or dislike paying extra for a club tier.
Our category scores
Pros
- Lowest-priced Marriott Bonvoy all-inclusive we found
- Big water park and pools
- Bonvoy earning, redemption and elite perks
- 24-hour room service
Cons
- Not beachfront
- Two-tier service favoring Diamond Club
- Dated rooms in reviews

- Brand
- Royalton Splash, Autograph Collection (Marriott Bonvoy)
- Beach access
- Via Royalton Punta Cana, about 10 minutes on foot

What guests say
Families praise the water park, lush grounds, frequent shuttles and concierges and butlers who solve problems.
Standard-room guests often say Diamond Club guests get better service and restaurants, and mention dated rooms and slow repairs.
4Best Marriott family pick in Jamaica
Royalton Blue Waters (and Hideaway)
Trelawny coast east of Montego Bay, Jamaica
$325–$677 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rate range for 2 adults, taxes excluded, shown October 2026
Our take
Royalton Blue Waters is Marriott's family all-inclusive in Jamaica, and the facilities are the draw: 11 restaurants including seven à la carte options and a jerk hut, a splash park with water slides and a lazy river, snorkeling and kayaking, and a stay-at-one, play-at-two arrangement with neighboring Royalton White Sands. Guests praise the location, breakfast and comfortable beds. It reopened on September 15, 2026 after Hurricane Melissa, according to the Jamaica Tourist Board, so check reviews written since then.
The ratings are only middling, though: 4.3 on Tripadvisor across 8,044 reviews and 7.2 out of 10 across 394 Kayak ratings, with repeated concerns about staff attitude, communication and responsiveness, mixed cleanliness and some maintenance problems. A few guests also wanted more restaurant variety and better entertainment. Prices are high for that score: Tripadvisor's average standard-room rates ran about $325 to $677 a night before taxes in October 2026.
We include it because Marriott Bonvoy families have few other Jamaica options, and the water park and dining range are genuine strengths. It is about 19.9 miles from Montego Bay's airport. If you do not need Marriott points, compare Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach, which scores higher on Kayak at a similar price.
Skip it if Consistent service is your top priority or you do not collect Bonvoy points.
Our category scores
Pros
- 11 restaurants, including a jerk hut
- Splash park, water slides and lazy river

Kayak reviewers appreciate the location, the breakfast offerings and comfortable beds, and families like the splash park and lazy river.
Repeated concerns cover staff attitude, communication and responsiveness, plus mixed cleanliness and some maintenance issues.
5Best for IHG points
JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$448–$988 per night for two · KAYAK 12-month average nightly rates, September (cheapest) to February (priciest), checked October 2026
Our take
JOIA Bávaro is the resort we would point IHG One Rewards members to first. It is Iberostar's adults-only JOIA brand, formerly Iberostar Grand Bávaro, and one of the best-rated all-inclusives in Punta Cana: 4.8 on Tripadvisor across 16,271 reviews and 9.3 out of 10 across 191 Kayak ratings. Kayak's summary says guests were very pleased with professional, friendly staff, clean rooms and common areas, and the quality and variety of the dining. Butler service gets particular praise, with guests naming individual butlers.
It sits on the Bávaro coast about 11.4 miles from the airport, near several golf courses including Iberostar's own. Kayak's averages ran from $448 a night in September to $988 in February, so it is a splurge at peak but a fair price in shoulder season, and IHG points can offset the cost at participating Iberostar resorts.
The complaints are minor but consistent: a frustrating dinner reservation system, the occasional poor front desk or security interaction, inconsistent service on some days and seasonal seaweed. Book restaurants early and you will avoid most of them.
Skip it if You are traveling with kids; book an Iberostar Selection or Waves resort instead.
Our category scores
Pros
- Excellent ratings on Tripadvisor and Kayak
- Adults-only with butler service
- IHG One Rewards earning and redemption
- Near several golf courses
Cons
- Expensive in peak season
- Dinner reservation system frustrates some guests
- Seasonal seaweed
- Adults-only
- Yes (JOIA brand)
- Former name
- Iberostar Grand Bávaro
- Airport
- About 11.4 miles from Punta Cana International (Kayak)
- Loyalty
- IHG One Rewards at participating Iberostar resorts
What guests say
Guests frequently highlight friendly, professional staff, clean rooms and common areas, varied, high-quality dining and attentive butlers.
Some guests found the dinner reservation system frustrating, and a few had poor experiences with the front desk or security, plus seaweed on the beach.

6Best RIU
Riu Palace Jamaica
Montego Bay, Jamaica
$461–$1,094 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rate range shown October 2026 (pre-renovation pricing; post-reopening rates may be higher)
Our take
Riu Palace Jamaica is the RIU we would book: adults-only, upscale by RIU standards and rated 4.5 on Tripadvisor across 5,093 reviews. It is closed for a renovation right now; Riu says it reopens in December 2026, so for December dates wait for the first post-reopening reviews. It is only about 2.1 miles from Montego Bay's airport, so you can be at the pool within an hour of landing. Kayak's review summary credits friendly, attentive staff and entertainers, a convenient and safe location, clean, well-kept facilities and a good breakfast, and the resort has Japanese, fusion, Italian and steakhouse restaurants plus private beach dinners. Guests recommend the sea-view Jacuzzi suites.
The cautions: Kayak's verified rating is a more modest 7.6 out of 10 across 105 ratings, and reviewers mention outdated rooms, limited food variety and menus, weak internet, high prices in the on-site market and occasional aircraft noise from the nearby airport.
Before the closure, Kayak's averages ran $456 to $624 a night and Tripadvisor's standard-room range about $461 to $1,094, below Jamaica's Sandals equivalents for most dates; post-renovation rates may be higher. Book it for a convenient, friendly adults-only week, not for gourmet dining.
Skip it if Fine dining is your priority or you are noise-sensitive.
Our category scores
Pros
- Adults-only, about 2 miles from the airport
- Friendly staff and entertainers
- Japanese, fusion, Italian and steakhouse restaurants
- Cheaper than Jamaica's luxury adults-only resorts
Cons
- Outdated rooms in some reviews
- Limited menus and food variety
- Airport noise
- Adults-only
- Yes
- Airport
- About 2.1 miles from Sangster International (Kayak)
- Restaurants
- Japanese, fusion, Italian and steakhouse (Kayak)
- Loyalty
- RIU Class
What guests say
Guests appreciated friendly, attentive staff, a convenient and safe location, clean, well-maintained facilities and a varied breakfast.
Negative feedback focuses on outdated rooms, inconsistent service, noise from the nearby airport and limited restaurant options.

7Best Hard Rock
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana
Macao, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$399–$909 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rates, taxes excluded, viewed October 2026
Our take
Hard Rock Punta Cana is the flagship of Hard Rock's all-inclusive collection and the clearest expression of the brand: huge, loud and packed with things to do. With 1,882 rooms, a casino, a water park, bowling, nightclubs and a long beach, it rates 4.3 on Tripadvisor across 43,092 reviews, and October 2026 reviewers say management has improved operations, including a new resort train.
Unity by Hard Rock members earn and redeem points across the company's hotels, casinos and cafes, which is a modest perk compared with the big hotel chains but useful for casino regulars.
The scale is also the problem. Guests complain about chasing restaurant reservations, slow bars at peak times, room-service waits of up to two hours, unreliable trams and persistent membership pitches. At Tripadvisor's partner rates of $399 to $909 a night, we would only book it in a sale, when it offers more activities per dollar than almost any resort in Punta Cana.
Skip it if You want a calm, intimate resort.
Our category scores
Pros
- Enormous range of activities
- Casino, water park and nightlife
- Long beachfront
- Unity by Hard Rock loyalty
Cons
- Restaurant reservations hard to get
- Membership sales pitches
- Long distances and tram waits
- Rooms
- 1,882 (Tripadvisor listing)
- Loyalty
- Unity by Hard Rock

What guests say
October 2026 reviewers praise butler, pool and entertainment staff, the water park and a new resort train, and say management has improved the resort.
Frequent complaints include hard-to-get restaurant reservations, aggressive membership pitches, slow room service and long waits for trams.

8Best Palace Resorts pick for families
Moon Palace Cancun (and The Grand)
Riviera Cancun, south of Cancun airport, Mexico
$455–$820 per night for two · Kayak 12-month averages per room/night for two at Moon Palace Cancun: October ~$456, December ~$821; checked Oct 2026
Our take
Moon Palace Cancun is Palace Resorts' best-known family resort and the template for the brand: very large (2,036 rooms per Tripadvisor), loaded with facilities and sold with headline resort credits. It rates 4.5 on Tripadvisor across 41,014 reviews, and families praise the kids' programs, water park, golf, many à la carte restaurants and the Monarca dinner show. In October 2026 its Tripadvisor listing advertised up to 45 percent off plus a $500 resort credit.
Palace has no big-chain points program, so its value depends on price and credits. Treat the credit as a bonus: forum regulars say the resort pushes a sales presentation, that past attendees received 1,500 in credits for attending, and that sessions run two hours or more.
Recent reviews also mention dirty pools, linens not changed, slow room service and August crowding. For a more polished Palace experience, Moon Palace The Grand Cancun next door scored 4.7 on Tripadvisor. For adults, the brand's Le Blanc resorts are the upscale choice.
Skip it if You dislike sales pressure or very large resorts.
Our category scores
Pros
- Excellent kids' programs and water park
- Many à la carte restaurants

What guests say
Couples and families praise named staff, butler service, wedding coordinators, the à la carte restaurants and the kids' activities.
A longtime forum member says Moon Palace pushes a sales presentation, that attendees received 1,500 in credits, and that it is never just 90 minutes.

9Best adults-only
Excellence Punta Cana
Uvero Alto, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$353–$603 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates, cheapest to priciest month, viewed October 2026 (August to February)
Our take
Excellence Punta Cana is our pick for a polished adults-only resort without Hyatt Zilara or Sanctuary prices. It has an enormous Tripadvisor following, 4.5 across 25,548 reviews, and Kayak's 12-month averages ran from $353 a night in August to $603 in February, mid-range for an adults-only resort of this standard. Kayak's resort summary lists nine restaurants, 12 bars, a buffet and a beachside snack hut, and guests single out The Grill, Agave and Spice, the Miilé Spa and the oceanfront Terrace Suites with plunge pools.
The brand runs its own Excellence Collection Rewards program and a best-rate guarantee, and publishes a hurricane policy, which is reassuring for fall bookings. It is in Uvero Alto, about 23.7 miles from the airport, so the transfer is long.
The main complaint we found is about the Excellence Club upgrade: a March 2026 Kayak reviewer loved the location, staff and amenities but felt the club option was oversold because beach chairs were hard to find despite the extra fee. Price the club carefully.
Skip it if You want a short transfer or hotel-chain points.
Our category scores
Pros
- Strong ratings across more than 25,000 reviews
- Nine restaurants and 12 bars
- Mid-range price for an adults-only resort

10Best value
Barceló Bávaro Beach
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$256–$995 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room for two, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Barceló Bávaro Beach is our value pick across all the brands on this page, and the best showcase for what Barceló does well: a big, well-located beach resort at a fair price. The 589-room adults-only resort shares one of the best stretches of Bávaro beach with its Palace sister, and Tripadvisor guests rate its location 4.7 out of 5 within an overall 4.4 across 16,669 reviews. Barceló's my Barceló program adds member discounts, though not big-chain points.
The value comes with familiar mid-range trade-offs. Recent reviews describe dated bathrooms with tub-shower combinations, slow maintenance, occasional pests and buffet staff who range from warm to curt, and the food is fine rather than memorable.
Book it if the beach is your priority and you want an adults-only atmosphere at a mid-range price, ideally in a sale; Barceló's site was advertising last-minute discounts of up to 40 percent at other resorts in October 2026. If you want polish, spend more at Excellence Punta Cana or JOIA Bávaro.
Skip it if You want modern rooms or hotel-chain points.

Marriott all-inclusive resorts: Royalton, Planet Hollywood and the luxury brands
All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy is the broadest chain lineup. Its October 2026 page listed resorts under at least eight banners (Marriott):
- Royalton in five flavors: Royalton Splash (family water-park resorts), Royalton (core), Royalton CHIC (adults-only, social), Royalton Hideaway (adults-only, upscale) and Royalton Vessence Barbados (adult-oriented). Locations include Punta Cana, Riviera Cancun, Montego Bay, Negril, Antigua, Grenada, Saint Lucia and Barbados.
- Planet Hollywood by Royalton in Cancun (including an Adult Scene section) and Costa Rica.
- The Luxury Collection: Sanctuary Cap Cana, Almare in Isla Mujeres and Paraiso de la Bonita in the Riviera Maya, all adults-only.
- Autograph Collection: Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos, Naturel and a Barbados resort, plus most Royaltons.
- Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, The Westin (Playa Vallarta, Reserva Conchal in Costa Rica, Porto de Galinhas in Brazil) and Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit.
Marriott says its package includes accommodation, food and drink, Wi-Fi, entertainment, non-motorized water sports, kids' activities, taxes, service fees and gratuities. Elite extras at all-inclusives include a weekly elite cocktail party, discounts on premium alcohol and incidentals from Gold Elite, and exclusive-area access from Platinum Elite. Points prices are dynamic, so check the cash-to-points ratio for your dates.
The best Marriott all-inclusive resorts
On Tripadvisor in October 2026, Sanctuary Cap Cana scored 4.7 across 12,292 reviews, Royalton CHIC Cancun 4.5 across 10,380, and Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort 4.5 across 5,745. For families on a budget, Royalton Splash Punta Cana (4.3) is the value play, reviewed below. Royalton's Diamond Club upgrade is the recurring theme in reviews: guests who buy it rate their stays noticeably higher.

IHG all-inclusive resorts: Iberostar Beachfront Resorts
IHG's main all-inclusive play in Mexico and the Caribbean is its partnership with Iberostar. IHG One Rewards members can earn points on bookings at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, get member rates and benefits, and redeem points for stays through ihg.com (Iberostar). Iberostar notes that the partnership excludes its interests in Cuba.
Iberostar runs three main resort lines: JOIA, its premium adults-only brand (JOIA Bávaro and JOIA Rose Hall were formerly Iberostar Grand hotels, as Kayak's listings still show); Iberostar Selection, upscale resorts for couples and families; and Iberostar Waves, the lively family-and-couples line. On Tripadvisor in October 2026, JOIA Bávaro scored 4.8 across 16,271 reviews, JOIA Paraíso in the Riviera Maya 4.7, and Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun 4.7.
Beyond Iberostar, IHG's all-inclusive options are thin. We could not verify a wider voco or other IHG-branded all-inclusive lineup in the Caribbean in October 2026, so treat Iberostar as the program's all-inclusive collection for now. Pricing is mid-range to upscale: Kayak averaged $324 to $571 a night at Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach and $448 to $988 at JOIA Bávaro.
RIU all-inclusive resorts: the reliable mid-price option
RIU is a Spanish family-owned chain founded in Mallorca in 1953 that operates in partnership with tour operator TUI. Its first hotel in the Americas was the Riu Taino in Punta Cana in 1991, and it now runs about 45 hotels across the Americas (Wikipedia).
What you get at RIU is consistency at a moderate price. RIU markets All Inclusive 24H at its resorts, an upgraded Elite Club at some Riu Palace hotels such as Riu Palace Kukulkan in Cancun, adults-only hotels, and RIU Party events, and it has its own loyalty program, RIU Class (RIU). The tiers: Riu Palace is the upscale line, Riu (Classic) the core resorts, and Riu Plaza the city hotels.
Prices in Kayak's 12-month data: Riu Republica in Punta Cana averaged $204 to $326 a night, Riu Emerald Bay in Mazatlán $198 to $367, and Riu Palace Jamaica $456 to $624 before it closed for a renovation (Riu says it reopens in December 2026). Ratings vary widely between the Palace hotels (Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun scored 4.5 on Tripadvisor in October 2026) and the big party-oriented classics (Riu Republica 3.9), so choose the specific hotel carefully. There are no major-chain points at RIU, which is the main reason loyalty collectors look elsewhere.

Hard Rock, Club Med and Palace Resorts: the entertainment-heavy brands
Hard Rock all-inclusive resorts
Hard Rock runs all-inclusive resorts in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Vallarta and Punta Cana, and its Unity by Hard Rock loyalty program earns and redeems at participating hotels, casinos, cafes and shops (Hard Rock Hotels). The formula is scale plus entertainment: Hard Rock Punta Cana alone lists 1,882 rooms on Tripadvisor, with a casino, water park and nightlife. Reviews praise the activities and criticize restaurant reservations and sales pitches.
Club Med
The French pioneer of all-inclusive holidays, founded in 1950 and majority-owned by China's Fosun Group, operates nearly 80 resorts worldwide (Wikipedia). In the Americas its sun resorts include Punta Cana, Michès Playa Esmeralda in the Dominican Republic, Cancún and Turkoise in Turks and Caicos, with an upscale Exclusive Collection tier, and its site lists St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands among new resorts (Club Med). Club Med is strongest for families thanks to its kids' clubs and included sports; Club Med Punta Cana scored 4.4 across 25,499 Tripadvisor reviews in October 2026.
Palace Resorts and Le Blanc
Palace Resorts runs Moon Palace (family) and Le Blanc (adults-only luxury). Moon Palace The Grand Cancun scored 4.7 across 15,352 Tripadvisor reviews, and the newer Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana averaged $664 to $1,114 a night on Kayak. Palace is known for resort-credit offers; in October 2026 Moon Palace Cancun's Tripadvisor listing advertised up to 45 percent off and a $500 credit. There is no big-chain points program, and sales presentations are a recurring complaint.

Excellence Collection, Barceló and Grand Velas
Excellence Collection
The Excellence Collection runs three brands: Excellence, six adults-only resorts (Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, Excellence Playa Mujeres, Excellence Riviera Cancun, Excellence Carmen Punta Cana, Excellence Punta Cana and Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica); Finest, all-ages resorts in Riviera Cancun, Playa Mujeres and Punta Cana; and Beloved Playa Mujeres, couples-only (The Excellence Collection). It has its own Excellence Collection Rewards program, a best-rate guarantee and a published hurricane policy. Tripadvisor ratings are consistently strong: Excellence Punta Cana 4.5 across 25,548 reviews and Excellence Carmen Punta Cana 4.6 in October 2026.
Barceló
Barceló Hotel Group runs four relevant brands: Royal Hideaway (adults-only luxury), Barceló (upscale), Occidental (mid-range) and Allegro (value), with the my Barceló loyalty program (Barceló). Its homepage advertised last-minute offers of up to 40 percent off at resorts such as Barceló Maya Palace and Barceló Aruba in October 2026. Barceló is a value leader in Punta Cana: Occidental Caribe averaged as little as $155 a night in September on Kayak.
Grand Velas
Velas Resorts' Grand Velas is an independent Mexican luxury brand with four all-inclusive resorts: Grand Velas Riviera Maya, Grand Velas Los Cabos, Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos and Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit (Grand Velas). Grand Velas Riviera Maya scored 4.8 across 7,004 Tripadvisor reviews in October 2026. Expect top-tier prices and no big-chain points.
Loyalty points at all-inclusive resorts: earning and redemption compared
| Program | All-inclusive brands | Award pricing | Notable all-inclusive perks |
|---|---|---|---|
| World of Hyatt | Inclusive Collection (Secrets, Dreams, Ziva, Zilara, Bahia Principe and more) | Fixed chart, 12,000-85,000 points per night for two | Largest points-eligible all-inclusive portfolio |
| Marriott Bonvoy | Royalton, Planet Hollywood, Luxury Collection, Autograph, Westin, Marriott | Dynamic | Elite cocktail party, premium-drink and incidental discounts, club access for Platinum |
| Hilton Honors | Hilton, Curio, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, DoubleTree | Dynamic | No extra fees on points stays; spa discount, cocktail reception |
| IHG One Rewards | Participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts | Dynamic, booked on ihg.com | Member rates and benefits at Iberostar |
| Unity by Hard Rock | Hard Rock Hotels | Brand program | Earn and redeem across hotels, casinos and cafes |
| RIU Class, my Barceló, Excellence Collection Rewards | RIU, Barceló, Excellence | Brand programs | Discounts and perks, not big-chain points |
Hyatt's fixed chart (per night for double occupancy) is detailed in our Hyatt all-inclusive guide, and Sandals' Island Insiders Club is covered in our Sandals and Beaches guide.
Two rules apply across programs. First, package and online-travel-agency bookings usually do not earn hotel points or elite credit, so a package saving has to beat the value of the points you give up. Second, all-inclusive award nights are often the best redemption a program offers because they cover meals and drinks for two, but only if you compare against real cash prices for your dates. Our all-inclusive resort deals guide walks through the math.
How to choose an all-inclusive brand
- You collect points: Hyatt first for breadth and a fixed chart, then Marriott for choice, Hilton for simple award terms. IHG only if Iberostar's resorts suit your trip.
- You want adults-only: Excellence, Iberostar JOIA, Royalton Hideaway or CHIC, Sanctuary Cap Cana, Riu Palace adults-only hotels, plus Hyatt's Secrets and Zilara.
- You have kids: Club Med for included sports and kids' clubs, Hard Rock and Royalton Splash for water parks, Moon Palace for big-resort facilities, Hilton for kids-stay-free promotions.
- You are on a budget: Barceló's Occidental and Allegro lines, RIU classics and Hyatt's Sunscape and Bahia Principe; see our cheap all-inclusive resorts guide.
- You want luxury without a sales pitch: Grand Velas, Luxury Collection resorts or Excellence, which reviewers rarely associate with timeshare-style presentations.
Whichever brand you choose, the individual resort matters more than the logo. Ratings in our research varied by more than a full Tripadvisor bubble inside the same brand.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
Forum regulars compare brands less than you might expect and compare individual resorts more. In a Tripadvisor Punta Cana thread from October 2026, a budget-minded family group weighing Iberostar Waves against Royalton Splash was told that Splash is the lowest Royalton tier and inland, that Royalton Punta Cana next door is nicer and beachfront, and that Diamond Club status restricts some areas at both. In the Cancun forum, the most-discussed brand practice is the sales presentation: a longtime member says Moon Palace pushes its planners hard, that attendees have received 1,500 in resort credits, and that sessions run well past their advertised 90 minutes. Across threads, the consistent advice is to read each resort's recent reviews rather than trusting a brand name, and to price club upgrades separately. This summary draws on Tripadvisor forum threads from September and October 2026.
A large family group comparing Iberostar Waves and Royalton Splash was told Splash is the lowest Royalton tier and inland, while Royalton Punta Cana next door is beachfront and nicer.
Cancun regulars say Moon Palace's vacation planners push a sales presentation that is never just 90 minutes, though attendees have received 1,500 in resort credits.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does Hilton have all-inclusive resorts?
Yes. In October 2026 Hilton's all-inclusive directory listed Hilton Cancun, Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe, Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya and Hilton Vallarta Riviera in Mexico, Curio Collection resorts such as Amare Cancun, Zemi Miches in the Dominican Republic and Mangrove Beach Corendon in Curaçao, and resorts in Greece and Turkey. Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya became all-inclusive on October 1, 2026. Hilton Honors members earn and redeem points, and Hilton says there are no extra fees on points stays.
How much do Hilton all-inclusive resorts cost?
Expect upper-mid-range prices. Tripadvisor's partner rates for Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort ran $328 to $786 a night for a standard room in October 2026, and Kayak's 12-month averages at Hilton Vallarta Riviera ran from $425 in June to $563 in December. The new Waldorf Astoria and Conrad all-inclusives in the Riviera Maya sit well above that. Promotions such as Hilton's 2026 Kids & Teens Stay Free offer can cut family costs significantly.
What are the best Marriott all-inclusive resorts?
By Tripadvisor rating in October 2026, Sanctuary Cap Cana (4.7 across 12,292 reviews) leads Marriott's lineup, followed by Royalton CHIC Cancun and Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort (both 4.5). For value, Royalton Splash Punta Cana offered partner rates from about $190 a night and a big water park. Marriott's other all-inclusive banners include Royalton Hideaway, Planet Hollywood, Luxury Collection resorts such as Almare in Isla Mujeres, Westin and Autograph Collection resorts.
Does IHG have all-inclusive resorts?
Yes, mainly through its partnership with Iberostar. IHG One Rewards members can earn points, get member rates and redeem points at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, with redemptions booked through ihg.com. The partnership excludes Iberostar's Cuba hotels. The best-rated option we found is the adults-only JOIA Bávaro in Punta Cana, at 4.8 on Tripadvisor and 9.3 out of 10 on Kayak. We could not verify a wider IHG-branded all-inclusive lineup in the Caribbean.
Are RIU resorts good?
RIU resorts are consistent mid-price all-inclusives, but quality varies by hotel. The upscale Riu Palace hotels rate well, such as Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun and Riu Palace Jamaica, both 4.5 on Tripadvisor in October 2026, while big party-oriented classics like Riu Republica score lower (3.9). RIU offers 24-hour all-inclusive, an Elite Club upgrade at some Palace hotels and its own RIU Class loyalty program, but no big-chain points.
Which all-inclusive brand is best for families?
It depends on what your kids want. Club Med is strongest for included sports and supervised kids' clubs, Hard Rock and Royalton Splash for water parks and activities, Moon Palace for big-resort facilities, and Hilton for kids-stay-free promotions on points-friendly terms. Hyatt's Ziva and Dreams brands are also excellent family options; see our Hyatt guide. Whatever the brand, check whether the best pools and restaurants are reserved for a paid club tier.
Is Grand Velas worth it?
For luxury travelers who do not need hotel-chain points, often yes. Grand Velas is an independent Mexican brand with four all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya, Los Cabos (two) and Riviera Nayarit, and Grand Velas Riviera Maya scored 4.8 on Tripadvisor across 7,004 reviews in October 2026. Prices sit at the top of the market, so compare it with Luxury Collection resorts and Hyatt's Zilara or Impression brands, where points can offset the cost.
