Quick answer
- The best St Lucia all inclusive resorts for 2026: Serenity at Coconut Bay (luxury adults-only, 5.0 on Tripadvisor), Sandals Grande St. Lucian (couples, best beach), Coconut Bay (families and value) and Anse Chastanet (Pitons, with an all-inclusive plan).
- Most US nonstops land at Hewanorra (UVF) in the far south; resorts in Rodney Bay and Castries are about 90 minutes away by road, while Coconut Bay and Serenity are about 5 minutes away.
- Jade Mountain offers an all-inclusive add-on at US$230 per person per day (no children under 16); Anse Chastanet publishes AI rates of about $970 to $1,265 a night for two before 20% VAT; Sugar Beach has no published AI plan.
- Adults-only choice is deep: three Sandals, Serenity, Hideaway at Royalton, Coconut Bay's Harmony side and Secrets St. Lucia, which opened June 1, 2025.
- The State Department raised St. Lucia to Level 2 (exercise increased caution) in July 2026, citing crime; use resort transfers and licensed taxis.
- Best weather is January to May; January has the cheapest flights (about $687 round trip on KAYAK's data).
Our verdict
Our verdict: Serenity for a splurge, Sandals Grande for the beach, Coconut Bay for families
The single most useful decision on St. Lucia is north versus south. If you want the island's best beaches, restaurants and resort choice, base yourself in the north and accept the 90-minute transfer from Hewanorra: Sandals Grande St. Lucian is our pick for couples, with Regency La Toc for golf and villas and Halcyon for the best Sandals value. If you would rather be at the pool 15 minutes after landing, the south wins: Serenity at Coconut Bay is the best-reviewed resort on the island and a superb honeymoon, and Coconut Bay next door is the best family and value all-inclusive.
For the classic Pitons experience, Anse Chastanet is the resort we would book, because it publishes a genuine all-inclusive plan and has a reef on the doorstep; Jade Mountain's AI add-on is a splurge on top of a splurge. BodyHoliday is in a class of its own for wellness. Treat Royalton as a points play rather than a luxury stay.

Where to stay: St. Lucia all-inclusive resorts north vs south (and the UVF transfer)
St. Lucia is small but slow to cross. Almost every nonstop flight from the US lands at Hewanorra (UVF) near Vieux Fort on the southern tip, while most all-inclusives are in the north around Rodney Bay and Castries, about 90 minutes away by a winding road. That single fact should shape your booking.
| Area | From UVF (approx.) | Beach | All-inclusives | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rodney Bay, Gros Islet, Cap Estate (north) | About 90 min | Calm Caribbean beaches (Reduit, Pigeon Island causeway) | Sandals Grande, Royalton and Hideaway, BodyHoliday, Bay Gardens | Couples, restaurants and nightlife |
| Castries, Choc Bay, Marigot (northwest) | 75 to 90 min | Mixed, some rough | Sandals La Toc and Halcyon, Secrets, Windjammer, Zoëtry | Sandals dine-around, SLU flights |
| Soufrière and the Pitons (southwest) | About an hour | Small coves, great snorkeling | Anse Chastanet, Jade Mountain (AI plan) | Scenery, diving, splurges |
| Vieux Fort (south) | About 5 min | Long, windy, sargassum-prone | Coconut Bay, Serenity | Families, short trips, value |
North: Rodney Bay and the Sandals strip
The north has the calmest beaches, the most restaurants and the most resort choice, and George F. L. Charles airport (SLU) in Castries is close if you connect through another Caribbean island. The catch is the drive from UVF. Sandals typically bundles airport transfers (confirm on your booking); elsewhere, budget for a private car.
South: Soufrière and Vieux Fort
Soufrière is the St. Lucia of postcards, with the Pitons, Sulphur Springs and reef snorkeling, but has only a few true all-inclusive options. Vieux Fort is the opposite: flat, windy and close to the airport, where Coconut Bay and Serenity let you be in the pool within 15 minutes of landing.

1Best overall for couples
Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Pigeon Island causeway, Gros Islet (north)

Guest ratings
Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Sandals Grande St. Lucian is the island's flagship couples resort and our default pick for a first St. Lucia trip. It sits on a narrow peninsula on the Pigeon Island causeway at the north tip, with the Caribbean on one side and the Atlantic on the other, a mile-long beach, overwater bungalows, 12 restaurants and seven bars, and more than 300 rooms. Sandals' stay-at-one, play-at-three deal adds free transfers and dining at Regency La Toc and Halcyon Beach.
Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.5 from almost 12,500 reviews, and October 2026 reviewers still praise the grounds, the staff and the romance. The same month brought sharp complaints, though: a slow pool bar, bars running out of ingredients, a room facing construction, food some guests called poor, and pool loungers claimed at dawn. Value is its weakest sub-score (4.1), and the transfer from Hewanorra takes around 90 minutes. Book it for the beach and the choice; choose a genuine oceanfront category, because some "water view" rooms face the Atlantic side and the road.
Skip it if You want quiet seclusion or the Pitons on your doorstep; this is a big, busy resort in the north.
Our category scores
Pros
- Mile-long calm beach on the Caribbean side
- 12 restaurants plus dine-around at two sister resorts
- Overwater bungalows

- Loungers reserved early at the pools

What guests say
The grounds were immaculately manicured.
The pool bar was very slow, sometimes waiting 10-15 mins to get a refill.
A 2022 guest who booked a water-view room found it looked out over the Atlantic side of the peninsula, past gardens, trees and a busy road, after a two-hour transfer.
2Best for families
Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa
Vieux Fort (south), 5 minutes from UVF
Guest ratings
Tripadvisor4.5/5 · 10,260Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Coconut Bay is the easiest all-inclusive in St. Lucia to get to and the best value for families. It sits on 85 acres and a mile of beach about five minutes from Hewanorra airport, so you skip the 90-minute drive north entirely. The resort splits into Harmony, an adults-only side, and Splash, the family side with what it calls the island's largest water park and the CocoLand kids' club, plus nine restaurants, seven bars and five pools.
Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.5 from more than 10,000 reviews, with service at 4.6 and value at 4.4, both high for St. Lucia. September 2026 families praised the food, the a la carte restaurants and the staff. The trade-offs are real: this is the windward south coast, so sargassum seaweed can make the beach hard to enjoy in some weeks, some Splash-side rooms feel dated next to the renovated Harmony rooms, and one guest found the walls thin. It is also far from Rodney Bay, Castries and Soufrière, so excursions mean long drives. For a family week, nothing else here matches it on price and convenience.
Skip it if A calm, seaweed-free Caribbean beach is your top priority; book a north-coast resort instead.
Our category scores

What guests say
Beautifully presented everywhere. Fantastic and friendly staff.
A family of four on a 10-night stay in September 2026 loved the buffet stations and the Asian and Caribbean a la carte restaurants, but found their rooms dated next to renovated ones and said heavy seaweed made the beach hard to enjoy.
Rooms were not soundproof and noise traveled from either guests in the halls or entertainment happening on the resort.
3Best luxury adults-only
Serenity at Coconut Bay
Vieux Fort (south), next to Coconut Bay
$1,446–$1,943 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rates for 2 adults, taxes excluded, seen October 2026
Our take
Serenity is the highest-rated all-inclusive in St. Lucia on Tripadvisor: a perfect 5.0 on Tripadvisor from more than 2,000 reviews, with every sub-score at 4.9 or 5.0. It is a private, adults-only enclave of just 36 plunge-pool suites beside Coconut Bay, each with a walled garden, an outdoor living area and butler service, plus its own restaurant, the Greathouse, and an adults-only pool.
Guests in August and September 2026 describe pristine suites, attentive butlers, excellent food and drinks, and no airport noise despite the five-minute transfer. The caveats are about what is outside the gate. Some shared facilities, such as the gym, are at the main Coconut Bay resort, and one earlier reviewer suggested skipping them; the beach is the same windward strand that can collect seaweed; and Soufrière and Rodney Bay are long drives. For a honeymoon where you mostly want your own pool, a butler and very good food, it is the best-reviewed choice on the island. It is not the cheap way into St. Lucia luxury: Tripadvisor's ranges of about $1,450 to $1,950 a night sit above Anse Chastanet's published all-inclusive rates even after VAT, so you are paying for privacy, the butler and a five-minute transfer instead of an hour on the road.
Skip it if You want lots of restaurants, nightlife or a calm Caribbean-side beach.
Our category scores
Pros
- Perfect 5.0 Tripadvisor rating
- Only 36 plunge-pool suites with butlers
- Five minutes from UVF
- Own restaurant and adults-only pool
Cons
- Gym and some facilities shared with Coconut Bay
- Windward beach can collect sargassum
- Far from Soufrière and Rodney Bay
- Small, so limited dining variety
- Suites
- 36, each with plunge pool and butler (Caribbean Journal)
- Ages

- Dining
- Greathouse restaurant plus access to Coconut Bay
What guests say
This resort is located very close to the airport. We were worried it may have too much noise, but we didn't hear any at all.
A January 2020 guest loved the service and food but said the one weak spot was having to use Coconut Bay's gym, which needed better upkeep and new equipment.

4Best Pitons setting with an AI plan
Anse Chastanet
Soufrière (southwest), beside the Pitons
$970–$1,265 per night for two · Anse Chastanet official 2026 rate sheet: standard room on the All-Inclusive plan for two, Jun–Oct vs Jan 3–Apr 15; add 20% VAT and service charges
Guest ratings
Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Anse Chastanet is the way to stay in the Pitons with everything included. The 600-acre estate on the southwest coast has 49 hillside and beachside rooms, two beaches (Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin), a Scuba St. Lucia dive center on the reef out front, and an All-Inclusive plan that covers all meals and most drinks by the glass. On its 2026 rate sheet a standard room on that plan runs about $970 a night from June to October and $1,265 from early January to mid-April, before 20% VAT and service charges. Children must be at least 8.
Guests love it: 4.5 on Tripadvisor from about 1,700 reviews, with service at 4.7 and location at 4.8. A September 2026 guest who booked the all-inclusive package called it exceptional. Expect a different kind of luxury, though. Many rooms are open-air with fans rather than air-conditioning, reviewers describe it as rustic around the edges, and the road from the airport is about an hour of bumpy driving. If you want design, privacy and an infinity pool, look up the hill at Jade Mountain instead.
Skip it if You need air-conditioning and polished, modern rooms.
Our category scores
Pros
- Pitons views and a reef for snorkeling and diving
- Genuine all-inclusive plan
- Outstanding service scores
- Two beaches on a 600-acre estate
Cons
- Expensive once VAT and service are added
- Many rooms have no air-conditioning
- Rustic finishes
- About an hour of bumpy road from UVF
- Rooms
- 49 (resort)

What guests say
A September 2026 guest who booked the all-inclusive food option through a package says it was exceptional, with almost all food and drink covered and the few exclusions clearly marked.
Very clean but rustic round the edges and felt very carribean.
5Best wellness all-inclusive
BodyHoliday
Cariblue Beach, Cap Estate (north)
Our take
BodyHoliday is unlike any other all-inclusive in the Caribbean. The rate includes a one-hour therapeutic treatment every full day, plus yoga, tai chi, meditation, fitness classes and land and water sports, on a quiet crescent of Cariblue Beach at the north tip of the island. It has just over 150 rooms and six dining outlets, and a loyal following: one October 2026 reviewer noted that people come back dozens of times.
Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.5 from about 3,600 reviews, with cleanliness and service at 4.7 and value at 4.4, a strong score for a premium resort because so much is included. Recent guests praise the staff, the classes and the massages. The criticisms are minor but consistent: some rooms need updating, dinner menus at Cariblue had not changed in two or three years according to one regular, and there are a lot of stairs to the spa and some studios. Book it if you want to come home fitter and more rested; skip it if you want a party or a big pool scene.
Skip it if You want nightlife, kids' facilities or a lazy, do-nothing pool week.
Our category scores
Pros
- Daily spa treatment included
- Huge activity and class program
- Quiet Cariblue Beach
- Very high service and value scores
Cons
- Some rooms need updating
- Repetitive dinner menus for long stays
- Lots of stairs to the spa
- Specialist treatments cost extra
- Rooms
- Just over 150 (Caribbean Journal)
- Included
- One-hour treatment every full day, yoga, tai chi, fitness, sports (resort)
- Dining
- Six outlets, including TAO and Cariblue
- Not included
- Specialist treatments, Ayurveda at Pavitra, skin clinic
What guests say
You can do as much or as little as you want.
October 2026 regulars still give five stars but mention a reservation glitch, rooms needing updates, a clubhouse bar closed for emergency repairs and Cariblue dinner menus unchanged for two or three years.
6Best for golf and views
Sandals Regency La Toc
La Toc, Castries (northwest)
Our take
Sandals Regency La Toc is the most dramatic of the three Sandals: a 220-acre estate just south of Castries with more than 330 rooms, bluff-top villas with private pools, its own nine-hole golf course, 10 restaurants and eight bars, and a deep crescent beach framed by cliffs. It is also the most reviewed resort in St. Lucia, with 4.5 on Tripadvisor from almost 14,700 reviews.
October 2026 reviewers rave about their butler teams and the teppanyaki show at Kimonos. Older reviews raise the trade-offs that come with the setting: the estate is spread out and hilly, so you rely on golf carts and shuttles; the sea in the bay can be too rough for easy swimming; and some bathrooms still have tub-showers. Like the Grande, value is its lowest sub-score (4.1). It is closer to Castries and George F. L. Charles airport than the Grande, which helps if you can route through SLU. Book it for golf, villas and views; book the Grande for the better beach.
Skip it if A long, calm swimming beach matters more to you than views and golf.
Our category scores
Pros
- Nine-hole golf course on site
- Bluff-top villas with private pools
- 10 restaurants plus two sister resorts
- Close to Castries and SLU airport
Cons
- Hilly, spread-out estate
- Sea can be rough for swimming
- Value score 4.1
- Some bathrooms dated
- Estate
- 220 acres, more than 330 rooms (Caribbean Journal)
- Dining
- 10 restaurants, 8 bars (Sandals)
- Golf
- Nine-hole course on site
- Location
- About 20 minutes south of Sandals Halcyon (Sandals)
What guests say
October 2026 guests repeatedly single out their butler teams for quick, attentive service and praise the food and entertainment at the Kimonos teppanyaki restaurant.
A November 2019 guest praised the idyllic setting, large clean rooms and the La Toc restaurant, but noted the sea was often too rough to swim and wished the bathrooms had walk-in showers rather than tub-showers.
7Best-value Sandals
Sandals Halcyon Beach
Choc Bay, Castries (northwest)
Our take
Sandals Halcyon Beach is the smallest and most relaxed of the three Sandals, with just over 170 rooms in low-rise gardens on Choc Bay, six restaurants, seven bars, thatched Rondoval cottages and Crystal Lagoon swim-up suites. Because it sits between the other two, it is the easiest base for using Sandals' stay-at-one, play-at-three deal, and its prices are typically the lowest of the trio.
Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.5 from about 8,000 reviews, with value at 4.2, the best of the three Sandals. Couples who married here in October 2026 praised a personal, never-impersonal atmosphere and an excellent wedding team. One long-time guest that month felt it had lost its edge: the resort was about a third full, some restaurants closed on certain nights, and there was a lot of maintenance work going on. Book Halcyon for an easygoing Sandals stay with the Grande's beach and La Toc's golf a short shuttle away.
Skip it if You want the biggest resort with the most on site; choose the Grande or La Toc.
Our category scores
Pros
- Smallest, most relaxed Sandals
- Best value of the three
- Central for play-at-three dine-around
- Swim-up suites
Cons
- Some restaurants closed on quiet nights in 2026
- Ongoing maintenance reported
- Fewer facilities on site
- About 90 minutes from UVF
- Rooms
- Just over 170 (Caribbean Journal)
- Dining
- 6 restaurants, 7 bars (Sandals)
- Signature
- Crystal Lagoon swim-up suites, Rondoval cottages
- Sister resorts
- Free shuttles to Grande (30 min) and La Toc (20 min)
What guests say
An October 2026 wedding couple say Halcyon's relaxed atmosphere never felt too big or impersonal, that they got to know the staff, and that the wedding team was excellent.
A lovely resort but seems to have lost its edge since we were last there.

8Best Marriott points pick for families
Royalton Saint Lucia
Cap Estate, near Rodney Bay (north)
Our take
Royalton Saint Lucia is the north coast's big family all-inclusive and the main Marriott Bonvoy option on the island, as part of the Autograph Collection All-Inclusive line. It has more than 450 rooms on a deep beach minutes from Rodney Bay, eight restaurants, seven bars, nightly entertainment, a splash park and a supervised kids' club for ages 4 to 12, and swim-out rooms along the main pool. Hewanorra is about 90 minutes away.
It is also the weakest-rated big resort on our list: 4.0 on Tripadvisor from about 6,600 reviews, with service at 3.9 and value at 3.8. October 2026 reviews follow a familiar Royalton pattern. Guests praise immaculate grounds, stunning pools, hard-working entertainment and bar staff, and outstanding butlers, then mark it down for pool areas that are not very clean, too few lounger cushions, and food and service that fall short of the price. We would book it as a points stay or for the kids' facilities, and compare prices with Coconut Bay first.
Skip it if You expect polished luxury service for a premium price.
Our category scores
Pros
- Kids' club for ages 4 to 12 and a splash park
- Marriott Bonvoy points eligible
- Near Rodney Bay restaurants and nightlife
- Praised butler service
Cons
- Lowest service and value scores on our list
- Pool cleanliness and lounger complaints
- About 90 minutes from UVF
- Food inconsistent for the price
- Rooms
- More than 450 (Caribbean Journal)
- Dining
- 8 restaurants, 7 bars (Royalton)
- Kids
- Kids' club ages 4 to 12, splash park
- Transfer
- About 90 minutes from UVF (Royalton)
- Brand
- Autograph Collection All-Inclusive (Marriott Bonvoy)
What guests say
An October 2026 guest says the grounds are immaculate and the pools stunning, with hard-working entertainment and bar staff, but the pool areas were not very clean and there were only a handful of lounger cushions per pool.
While there were certainly highlights, particularly the incredible service from our personal butler, the overall experience fell short of what we expected from a luxury resort at this price point.
9Best adults-only with points
Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia
Cap Estate, near Rodney Bay (north)
Our take
Hideaway is the adults-only (18+) section of the Royalton complex: just over 100 rooms with their own pool, restaurant and beach area, butler service, a Diamond Club lounge with premium drinks, and full access to the larger Royalton's restaurants, bars and spa. Between the two sides, guests can use nine restaurants and 11 bars. George F. L. Charles airport is about 20 minutes away, Hewanorra about 90.
Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.0 from about 3,300 reviews, a little better than the family side on rooms and service. October 2026 guests liked the views, comfortable beds, butlers and entertainment such as the silent disco. Negatives include rooms not fully cleaned before arrival, and one guest found the airport transfer very inconvenient and expensive. Another October reviewer noted that two buildings were undergoing room renovations expected to finish around November 2026. For Marriott members who want adults-only, it is a sensible pick; for the same money, Serenity or Sandals score higher.
Skip it if You want the island's best-reviewed adults-only stay; Serenity and the Sandals rate higher.
Our category scores
Pros
- Adults-only with access to the full Royalton
- Butler service and Diamond Club lounge
- About 20 minutes from SLU
- Bonvoy points and benefits
Cons

- Room renovations under way in late 2026
- Housekeeping misses reported
- Long, costly transfer from UVF

- Dining
- 9 restaurants and 11 bars across the complex (Royalton)
- Airports
- About 20 minutes from SLU, 90 minutes from UVF (Royalton)
What guests say
An October 2026 guest in a presidential suite praises the impeccably kept grounds and two attentive butlers, and notes that two buildings were undergoing room renovations due to finish by November without affecting their stay.
Another October 2026 guest enjoyed the rooms, staff, food and entertainment but says getting to and from the airport was very inconvenient and extremely expensive; a third found a stained bed valance and unswept floors on arrival.

10Most scenic marina setting
Zoëtry Marigot Bay
Marigot Bay (west coast)
Our take
Zoëtry Marigot Bay has the prettiest setting of any all-inclusive on the island: 124 suites stacked above the yachts in Marigot Bay, a sheltered green inlet halfway down the west coast, many with big terraces and soaking tubs. Dining is a la carte, and guests take a ferry across the bay to reach the beach. Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.5 from about 1,250 reviews.
Recent reviews are polarized, which is why we score it lower than its rating. October 2026 guests praise warm staff and butlers, and one called it peaceful and relaxing but warned there is nothing to do outside the hotel. Another described roaches, cats in dining areas, small dated rooms, no elevators despite steep climbs and stairs, two small pools and limited food choice, and called it far from five-star. A balanced reviewer in a master suite with a plunge pool loved the room and location. Book a top suite category if you go, and do not expect a beach resort.
Skip it if You have limited mobility or want a walk-out beach.
Our category scores

Pros & cons
St. Lucia for an all-inclusive: why go, why not
Reasons to go
- Spectacular scenery: the Pitons, rainforest and volcanic Sulphur Springs
- One of the deepest adults-only line-ups in the Caribbean, including three Sandals
- Nonstops from Miami in under four hours
- Resort styles from big Sandals to 36-suite Serenity and wellness-led BodyHoliday
- Good reef snorkeling and diving around Soufrière
Reasons to think twice
- Most flights land at UVF, about 90 minutes from the northern resorts
- Few strong family options compared with Jamaica or Mexico
- Level 2 advisory since July 2026, citing crime
- 20% VAT and service charges push up independent resort prices
- Windward beaches in the south can collect sargassum
Best St. Lucia all-inclusive resorts for adults only
St. Lucia is one of the strongest adults-only islands in the Caribbean. Our order, based on 2026 reviews and ratings:
- Serenity at Coconut Bay: 36 plunge-pool suites with butlers and a perfect 5.0 on Tripadvisor; five minutes from UVF.
- Sandals Grande St. Lucian: the best beach and the most choice, with dine-around at two sister resorts.
- Sandals Regency La Toc: golf, cliffs and villas with private pools near Castries.
- Sandals Halcyon Beach: the smallest, best-value Sandals.
- Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia: adults-only with Marriott points, a step below on ratings.
- Coconut Bay Harmony: the adults-only side of Coconut Bay, the budget pick.
Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa, Hyatt's first Secrets on the island, opened on June 1, 2025 on Choc Bay with 355 rooms, nine places to eat, six bars and a large spa (Caribbean Journal). We could not verify a settled guest rating for it in October 2026, so it is not ranked here, but it is worth pricing against Sandals if you collect World of Hyatt points.
For more adults-only options around the region, see our adults-only all-inclusive resorts and couples and honeymoon guides.
Best St. Lucia all-inclusive resorts for families
Families have fewer choices than couples on St. Lucia, because the three Sandals resorts are adults-only. The best options:
- Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa: the island's family specialist, with a water park, lazy river, CocoLand kids' club and a separate adults-only side for parents who want a break. It is also five minutes from UVF.
- Royalton Saint Lucia: a big north-coast resort with a splash park and a kids' club for ages 4 to 12, near Rodney Bay.
- Windjammer Landing: a hillside villa resort on Labrelotte Bay that markets itself as all-inclusive and runs kids' and teen activities. It rates 4.5 on Tripadvisor from about 4,600 reviews; it is not in our ranked list because its recent reviews are uniformly positive and give too little detail on the downsides to score it fairly.
- Bay Gardens Beach Resort: about 75 rooms on Reduit Beach with a floating water park and a dine-around all-inclusive plan across sister properties (Caribbean Journal).
Anse Chastanet accepts children aged 8 and up, and Jade Mountain does not accommodate children under 16. For more choices, see our family all-inclusive resorts guide.
Jade Mountain, Anse Chastanet and Sugar Beach: which are really all-inclusive?
St. Lucia's most famous luxury hotels are in the Pitons, and most travelers searching for "Jade Mountain all inclusive" want to know whether everything can be included. The answer varies:
| Resort | All-inclusive? | What we found (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Jade Mountain | Yes, as an add-on | Its 2026 rate sheet lists an all-inclusive plan at US$230 per person per day on top of room rates; breakfast and dinner are mandatory Dec 20 to Jan 2; no children under 16 |
| Anse Chastanet | Yes | Published AI rates: about $970 a night (Jun–Oct) to $1,265 (Jan 3–Apr 15) for a standard room, before 20% VAT and service |
| Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort | No published AI plan | Its packages page lists food, romance and racquet packages but no meal plan |
Jade Mountain has 29 "sanctuaries" built into the hillside above Anse Chastanet, most with a private infinity pool and one wall open to the Pitons (Jade Mountain rates). The total is steep: add $460 a day for two on the AI plan, plus VAT and service charges, to sanctuary rates. We have not ranked it because we could not verify a current guest rating, but if you want the most dramatic room in the Caribbean and are prepared to pay for it, the AI add-on makes budgeting simpler.
Anse Chastanet, its sister on the beach below, is the better value way to experience the same bay and reef, and its all-inclusive plan covers meals and most drinks by the glass.

Sandals in St. Lucia: Grande vs Regency La Toc vs Halcyon
Sandals runs three adults-only resorts in St. Lucia and lets guests at any of them eat, drink and use the facilities at the other two, with free shuttles between them. According to Sandals, Halcyon sits in the middle: La Toc is about 20 minutes south and the Grande about 30 minutes north, with 45 minutes between La Toc and the Grande.
| Sandals Grande St. Lucian | Sandals Regency La Toc | Sandals Halcyon Beach | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setting | Peninsula, mile-long beach | 220-acre estate, cliffs | Garden resort on Choc Bay |
| Rooms | 300+ | 330+ | 170+ |
| Dining | 12 restaurants, 7 bars | 10 restaurants, 8 bars | 6 restaurants, 7 bars |
| Signature | Overwater bungalows | Golf, villas with pools | Swim-up suites |
| Tripadvisor | 4.5 (12,490) | 4.5 (14,678) | 4.5 (7,977) |
| Value sub-score | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.2 |
Our take: book the Grande for the beach, La Toc for golf and a villa with a pool, and Halcyon if you want the lowest Sandals price and plan to dine around. All three are roughly 75 to 90 minutes from UVF, and Sandals says the shuttles between them are complimentary. More on the brand in our Sandals and Beaches guide.
What's new and changing in 2026

- Coconut Bay: guests in 2026 describe renovated rooms on the Harmony side and works near some Splash-side rooms.
St. Lucia was not in the path of Hurricane Melissa, which devastated Jamaica in October 2025; for that story, see our Jamaica guide.
Best time to visit St. Lucia
The dry season runs from about January to May. At George F. L. Charles airport in Castries, NOAA's 1991–2020 normals show February to April averaging under 3.5 inches of rain a month, with highs of 84 to 87°F (Castries climate table). The wet season follows from June to December, peaking in October at about 9.9 inches. The south around Hewanorra is drier, at about 59 inches a year versus 72 in Castries (Vieux Fort climate table).
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. St. Lucia sits in the southern Caribbean but is not outside the storm belt, so buy insurance for summer and autumn trips.
Flights: KAYAK's data shows January is the cheapest month to fly from the US, averaging $687 round trip, while December ($1,009) and June ($922) are the most expensive. October is the quietest month for travelers. Seaweed: the windward east and south coasts, including Coconut Bay's beach, can collect sargassum in some weeks; the Caribbean-side beaches in the north and west are usually calmer and cleaner.

Is St. Lucia safe? The July 2026 advisory change
In July 2026 the U.S. State Department raised St. Lucia's travel advisory to Level 2, "exercise increased caution," adding a crime indicator (FOX 29, July 14, 2026; TravelPulse). The advisory says violent crime, including armed robbery, assault, burglary and rape, can occur anywhere on the island, has affected guests at tourist resorts, and that police response times are slower than in the US.
For resort guests, sensible precautions go a long way:
- Use resort transfers or licensed taxis, and avoid driving or walking far at night.
- Book excursions through your resort or a reputable operator; many attractions have tourist police.
- Do not display valuables, and do not resist if confronted.
- Check your luggage for any ammunition before you fly; it is a serious offense in many Caribbean countries.
Level 2 is the same level as many popular European destinations. It is a reason to be careful, not to cancel.
Getting there and what a St. Lucia all-inclusive costs
Flights: KAYAK counts about 40 nonstop flights a week from seven US cities, mostly into UVF, with Miami offering the most (about 14 a week) and American Airlines flying most often. Sandals lists nonstop times of about 3 hours 40 minutes from Miami and 4 hours 40 minutes from New York JFK. Typical US round-trip fares run $609 to $1,100, and anything under $609 is a good deal (KAYAK).
Resort prices vary widely:
| Level | Examples | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Value | Coconut Bay | A 5-night all-inclusive package seen on AAA/Pleasant Holidays from $1,089 per person (late-2025 start date) |
| Mid to premium | Royalton, Sandals Halcyon, Sandals Grande | Varies by season and room; compare on Sandals and Marriott sites |
| Luxury | Anse Chastanet, Jade Mountain, Serenity | Anse Chastanet AI from about $970 to $1,265 a night for two before 20% VAT and service; Jade Mountain AI add-on $230 per person per day |
Taxes and tips: Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain quote rates that are "subject to 20% VAT, Service Charge/Resort Fees and Tourism Levy," so always check whether a price is inclusive. Sandals includes gratuities in its rates (butlers are often tipped); elsewhere, tipping is customary. With flights: compare a flight-plus-resort package against a separate booking, especially for January, the cheapest month for airfare. See our all-inclusive resort deals page for current offers.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
This summary draws on the Tripadvisor St. Lucia forum and Mumsnet holiday threads from late 2024 to April 2026. The first rule regulars repeat is geography: the island is long and its roads are slow and winding, so most North American arrivals at Hewanorra face a drive of 75 to 90 minutes to the Rodney Bay and Castries resorts, while Serenity at Coconut Bay and Coconut Bay are minutes from the airport. Serenity is the forum's usual answer for a luxury all-inclusive, thanks to its private plunge-pool cottages and butlers. Coconut Bay is the family pick, though posters warn its Atlantic beach is often too rough for watersports. Couples choosing between the Sandals hear that La Toc wins on views but has a smaller beach on open sea, and one 2024 poster passed on road-noise complaints from guests at Halcyon. Honeymooners who want the Pitons are steered to Jade Mountain or Sugar Beach with an all-inclusive add-on, or to BodyHoliday for its daily spa treatments. Families hear that Royalton, the cheapest option in one 2026 thread, has little around it. If you stay in the north, regulars recommend at least one land-and-sea day trip to Soufrière and the Pitons.
For a honeymoon, replies suggested Jade Mountain or Sugar Beach with the all-inclusive add-on (pricey, but in Soufrière near the attractions), BodyHoliday (daily spa treatments and lots of activities) or the quieter StolenTime for an adults-only all-inclusive, and Serenity at Coconut Bay for being close to the airport.
Weighing Serenity at Coconut Bay against Sandals Regency La Toc, posters favour Serenity for its private cottages with plunge pools, butler service and five-minute airport transfer. La Toc wins on cliffside views and romance but is 75 to 90 minutes from the airport, and its smaller cove beach fronts open sea that can get rough.
We met some Americans on a trip who were staying at Sandals Halcyon and they were very disappointed due to road noise.
Comparing family resorts, replies called Royalton Saint Lucia the cheapest option but said there is little around it and few dining alternatives, praised Bay Gardens' calm sea but not its restaurant, and warned that St. Lucia transfers are long and winding, with one estimate of $70 to $100 to the Rodney Bay area.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the best all-inclusive resort in St. Lucia?
For couples we recommend Sandals Grande St. Lucian for its beach and choice, or Serenity at Coconut Bay for a smaller, butler-led luxury stay with a perfect 5.0 Tripadvisor rating. Families should start with Coconut Bay. For the Pitons, Anse Chastanet offers a genuine all-inclusive plan.
Is Jade Mountain all-inclusive?
Not by default, but it offers an all-inclusive plan. Its 2026 rate sheet lists the AI plan as an add-on of US$230 per person per day on top of the sanctuary rate, and breakfast and dinner are mandatory from December 20 to January 2. Children under 16 cannot be accommodated. Its sister resort, Anse Chastanet, publishes all-inclusive room rates.
What are the best adults-only all-inclusive resorts in St. Lucia?
Serenity at Coconut Bay, the three Sandals resorts (Grande St. Lucian, Regency La Toc and Halcyon Beach), Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia and the Harmony side of Coconut Bay. Secrets St. Lucia, which opened in June 2025 on Choc Bay, is another adults-only option.
How far are St. Lucia resorts from the airport?
Most US flights land at Hewanorra (UVF) in the far south. Coconut Bay and Serenity are about 5 minutes away, Soufrière resorts such as Anse Chastanet about an hour, and the Rodney Bay and Castries resorts, including the Sandals, about 90 minutes. George F. L. Charles airport (SLU) in Castries handles regional flights and is about 20 minutes from Hideaway at Royalton.
Is Coconut Bay good for adults?
Yes. Coconut Bay is split into an adults-only side called Harmony and a family side called Splash, and next door is Serenity, a separate adults-only enclave of 36 plunge-pool suites with butlers. Couples on a budget can book Harmony; couples who want luxury and privacy should book Serenity.
Is St. Lucia safe for tourists?
Most resort visitors have trouble-free trips, but in July 2026 the State Department raised St. Lucia to Level 2, exercise increased caution, citing violent crime that has affected tourists. Use resort transfers or licensed taxis, avoid walking or driving far at night, and book tours through your resort.
When is the best time to go to St. Lucia?
January to May is the dry season, with February to April the driest months in Castries. October is the wettest and quietest month. January has the cheapest average airfare from the US, about $687 round trip on KAYAK's data, while December and June are the most expensive.
Is Sugar Beach in St. Lucia all-inclusive?
Not as of October 2026. Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, between the Pitons, lists food, romance and racquet packages but no all-inclusive meal plan on its website. If you want the Pitons with everything included, look at Anse Chastanet or Jade Mountain's all-inclusive add-on.
