Quick answer
- Cayman Islands all inclusive resorts are scarce: on Grand Cayman, only The Reef Beach Resort (formerly Wyndham Reef Resort) in East End sells an all-inclusive plan, from $151 per adult per day (4-night minimum), rising to $189 from December 19, 2026 to April 2, 2027.
- The Reef's plan covers three meals, house-brand drinks, an hour a day of kayaks and paddleboards, tax, gratuities and the resort fee, but it excludes premium dishes such as lobster and prime steaks.
- Divers get the best deals on the Sister Islands: Little Cayman Beach Resort and Cayman Brac Beach Resort sell 7-night packages with three meals, 21 drinks and 17 boat dives from $2,395–$3,695 per diver; Southern Cross Club includes all meals but not drinks.
- The Seven Mile Beach resorts (Marriott, Westin, Kimpton Seafire, Ritz-Carlton) are not all-inclusive. Budget for food, because Cayman restaurant prices are among the Caribbean's highest.
- Best weather is December to April; October averages 9.6 inches of rain at Owen Roberts airport. U.S. citizens need a passport, and Grand Cayman is about 480 miles south of Miami.
Our verdict
Our verdict: The Reef for an all-inclusive, the Sister Islands for divers, Seven Mile Beach for everyone else
If you want an all-inclusive on Grand Cayman, there is one: The Reef Beach Resort. Its add-on plan is fairly priced for Cayman, includes taxes and tips, and suits families who want condo-style space. Accept the trade-offs: a far East End location, a limited menu, house-brand liquor and a beach that some reviewers find disappointing.
Divers should skip Grand Cayman's resorts entirely and book a package on Cayman Brac Beach Resort or Little Cayman, where three meals, drinks and 17 boat dives are bundled. For a smaller, more refined dive base with every meal included, Southern Cross Club is our pick, with a 4.8 Google rating.
If you really want Seven Mile Beach, do it without a plan: the Grand Cayman Marriott is the family-friendly middle ground, the Kimpton Seafire is the luxury pick, and the Sunshine Hotel & Suites keeps costs down. These picks are based on official package terms, guest ratings and reviews we checked in October 2026.

Cayman Islands all-inclusive resorts: how limited is the choice?
Very limited, and it helps to know that before you start comparing. Grand Cayman's big-name resorts on Seven Mile Beach (the Ritz-Carlton, Kimpton Seafire, Westin, Marriott and Grand Hyatt) sell rooms, not all-inclusive plans. In October 2026 the only Grand Cayman property we found selling a full plan was The Reef Beach Resort in East End, which still markets itself as 'formerly the Wyndham Reef Resort' and calls its plan the only one of its kind on the island on its all-inclusive page.
The other genuine options are on the Sister Islands, where the resorts are built around diving:
- Little Cayman Beach Resort and Cayman Brac Beach Resort (both run by Clearly Cayman) sell 7-night packages with three meals a day, a 21-drink package and 17 boat dives.
- Southern Cross Club on Little Cayman includes all meals, taxes, the service fee, transfers and kayaks in its rates, but drinks are extra.
Two names that still appear in older lists need a warning. Pirates Point Resort on Little Cayman, long known for its all-inclusive dive stays, has closed, according to a May 2024 Undercurrent reader report, and its website no longer loads. And Margaritaville's own resort finder no longer lists a Grand Cayman property, so check before booking anything sold under that name.

1Best overall (the only all-inclusive on Grand Cayman)
The Reef Beach Resort (formerly Wyndham Reef Resort)
East End, Grand Cayman
Our take
The Reef is the answer to 'Wyndham Reef Resort all inclusive' searches: the resort dropped the Wyndham name but kept the plan, and it remains the only Grand Cayman hotel we found selling one. The Standard All-Inclusive costs $151 per adult per day for most of 2026 and $189 from December 19 to April 2, with children 4–17 at $80 and under-4s free, on a four-night minimum. Three meals, house-brand drinks, an hour of kayaks or paddleboards a day, Wi-Fi, tax, gratuities and the resort fee are all included, which is rare in Cayman. You stay in one of more than 150 beachfront studios and condos, some with two bedrooms, around three pools, a spa and 1,600 feet of beach, and diving runs through Ocean Frontiers. The compromises are clear: the menu excludes lobster and premium steaks, lunch can be a Subway combo, spirits are domestic brands, and guests quoted on the resort's own site say the beach is eroded and hard to walk near the water. It is also a long drive from Seven Mile Beach. Google reviewers rate it 4.3 of 5 from 736 reviews. Book it for a one-price family or couples' week on the quiet East End; skip it if Seven Mile Beach or fine dining is the point.
Skip it if You want Seven Mile Beach, premium dining or a wide, walkable beach.

What guests say
Tripadvisor reviews reproduced on the resort's site praise very clean, roomy two-bedroom beachfront suites, kind staff, excellent themed dinners and food good enough that one couple never ate off the property.
The same reviews call the beach a letdown: soft sand gives way to a slanted, eroded edge that is hard to walk, rocks make entering the water tricky without water shoes, and seaweed washes up.

2Best all-inclusive dive package
Cayman Brac Beach Resort
Cayman Brac
$684–$799 per night for two · Classic Cayman package of $2,395–$2,795 per diver for 7 nights (beach-view room, double occupancy) on the resort's site, converted to a nightly rate for two; includes meals, 21 drinks and 17 dives
Our take
If you dive, this is the best-value all-inclusive in the Cayman Islands. The Classic Cayman package costs $2,795 per diver from January to July 2026 and $2,395 from August 2026 to early January 2027, and covers seven nights, three meals a day, a 21-drink package, 17 boat dives including a morning trip to Little Cayman's Bloody Bay Marine Park, airport transfers, taxes, resort fees and gratuities other than dive tips. That works out to well under $350 per diver per day on Cayman, where a hotel breakfast alone can cost $50. Google reviewers give the resort 4.8 of 5 from 176 reviews, and the guest reviews the resort publishes praise the dive operation, the friendly staff and plentiful food. Rooms are comfortable rather than luxurious; one reviewer called them adequate for a place where the focus is the water, and several mention Cayman Airways as the weak link in the trip. Non-divers will find little to do beyond the pool, the beach and hiking the Bluff. Book it for a dive week with meals and drinks sorted; skip it if you do not dive or want resort amenities.
Skip it if You do not dive, or you want nightlife and restaurants.
Our category scores
Pros
- Meals, 21 drinks and 17 boat dives in one price
- Strong dive operation with a Little Cayman day trip
- Taxes, resort fee and most gratuities included
- Google rating of 4.8 from 176 reviews
Cons
- Simple rooms
- Little to do for non-divers
- Extra flight from Grand Cayman on Cayman Airways
- Drink package is capped at 21 drinks
- Package
- Classic Cayman: 7 nights, 3 meals, 21 drinks, 17 boat dives
- Price per diver
- $2,795 (Jan 10–Jul 31, 2026); $2,395 (Aug 1, 2026–Jan 9, 2027)
- Included
- Transfers, taxes, resort fee, gratuities except dive tips
- Getting there
- Cayman Airways from Grand Cayman
What guests say
Guest reviews published by the resort call it a gold standard for dive resorts, praising friendly and professional staff, well set-up boats, low-stress dive sites and plentiful, varied food.
Even happy guests note limits: one described the rooms as merely adequate for a place where the water is the focus, and another said Cayman Airways' service was the one sub-par part of the trip.

3Best full-board boutique (drinks extra)
Southern Cross Club
Little Cayman
$835–$963 per night for two · 7-night rates of $2,924 (summer) to $3,371 (winter) per person, double occupancy, on the club's rates page, converted to a nightly rate for two; includes all meals, taxes and the 10% service fee, not diving or drinks
Our take
Southern Cross Club is the most refined stay in this guide and the closest thing Little Cayman has to a luxury resort, with just 14 beach cottages on about 900 feet of white sand. Its rates are per person and include an oceanfront bungalow, every meal in the clubhouse, government taxes, the 10% service fee, island transfers, bikes, kayaks and paddleboards. A week costs $2,924 per person in summer and $3,371 in winter. Drinks and diving are extra, with gratuity added to drinks, so it is full board rather than all-inclusive, and that is how you should budget. The payoff is quality: a May 2024 Undercurrent reader called the staff unsurpassed by any dive resort they had visited and the dining 'a 5-star elevated experience at every meal', and Google reviewers rate it 4.8 of 5. Rooms have no TVs or phones by design. The same diver noted that the coral is less lush than a decade ago and that night dives were paused until channel lights were replaced. Book it for a quiet, food-focused dive or honeymoon week; skip it if you want unlimited drinks in the price or any nightlife.
Skip it if You want drinks in the price, kids' facilities or a lively scene.
Our category scores
Pros
- All meals, taxes, service fee and transfers included
- Only 14 beach cottages, with standout service
- Food praised as fine dining by divers
- Kayaks, paddleboards and bikes included
Cons
- Drinks and diving cost extra
- Expensive per night
- No TVs or phones in rooms
- Remote; requires an extra flight
- Accommodation
- 14 cottages on about 900 ft of beach
- Included
- All meals, taxes, 10% service fee, transfers, bikes, kayaks, paddleboards
- Not included
- Drinks and diving
- 7 nights per person
- $2,924 summer; $3,371 winter (double occupancy)
What guests say
the dining here is a 5-star elevated experience at every meal.
The same 2024 report praises spacious, spotless rooms and staff who learn your name on day one, but warns that the coral and fish life are not what they were 10 years ago and that night dives were unavailable until channel lights were replaced.

4Best Seven Mile Beach base for families (not all-inclusive)
Grand Cayman Marriott Resort
Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman
Our take
The Marriott is not all-inclusive, but it is the sensible Seven Mile Beach choice for families who want a recognizable brand, a pool, a spa and on-site restaurants at the southern, George Town end of the beach, close to the airport and the cruise port. Google reviewers rate it 4.5 of 5 from 1,676 reviews and Expedia guests about 8.8 of 10, and reviewers consistently praise the staff. The weak point is the beach itself: reviewers report that the resort has little or no beach of its own at this end of Seven Mile Beach, so you may walk to find sand, and on-site dining is expensive, as it is everywhere on the island. A few guests mention musty rooms. Plan to eat at least some meals in George Town or Camana Bay, and use the location to reach Stingray City tours and the cruise port easily. Book it for a practical family base with Marriott Bonvoy points; skip it if a wide stretch of sand outside your room is the priority, in which case the Westin or Kimpton is worth the extra cost.
Skip it if You want a wide beach right outside your room or an all-in price.
Our category scores
Pros
- Brand-name resort with pool, spa and restaurants
- Close to George Town and the airport
- Friendly staff in reviews
- Can use Marriott Bonvoy points
Cons
- Not all-inclusive; expensive dining
- Little beach at this end of Seven Mile Beach, per reviewers
- Some musty-room complaints
- Plan type
- Room only
- Location
- 389 West Bay Road, southern Seven Mile Beach
- Facilities
- Pool, spa, two restaurants
- Brand
- Marriott Bonvoy
What guests say
Expedia and Hotels.com reviewers mostly highlight a lovely property and a friendly, helpful team.
A recent reviewer said the resort has no beach of its own and found on-site dining expensive, and another reported a musty-smelling room with little compensation offered.

5Best classic beach resort (not all-inclusive)
The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa
Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman
Our take
If your idea of Cayman is a lounger on the widest part of Seven Mile Beach, the Westin delivers it. The 335-room resort, opened in 1995 and renovated in 2017, has a private beach area with umbrellas and water-sports gear, and 2026 Trip.com reviewers say chairs are easy to find. Guests score it 9.2 of 10 on Trip.com and 4.5 of 5 on Google from 2,084 reviews, praising friendly staff, comfortable rooms and food such as the conch fritters. It is not all-inclusive, and this is where Cayman prices bite: the listed breakfast buffet costs $50.15 per adult, one guest estimated about $650 a night with resort fees and taxes, and another found a $23 cocktail came to about $30 in U.S. dollars with gratuity. Other 2026 complaints include slow poolside service, convention crowds, a room that did not match the booking and some wear and tear. Book the Westin for a beach-first week where you will eat out often; skip it if you want one price for food and drinks or a quieter, smaller hotel.
Skip it if You want meals included or a small, quiet hotel.
Our category scores
Pros

- Resort fees and taxes push rooms near $650 a night, per one guest

What guests say
May and July 2026 guests praise friendly, helpful staff, the beach with chairs readily available, clean and comfortable rooms and excellent food, including the conch fritters.
May 2026 reviewers describe very slow poolside service, convention groups crowding the beach, a room that did not match the booking, a cocktail costing about $30 after exchange and gratuity, and some wear and tear.

6Best luxury (not all-inclusive)
Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa
Seven Mile Beach (north end), Grand Cayman
Our take
Kimpton Seafire is the Seven Mile Beach resort guests love most, with 9.8 of 10 on Trip.com from 97 reviews in 2026 and 4.8 of 5 on Google from 1,509. It is not all-inclusive, and an adult breakfast costs about $30, but for a luxury trip where you are happy to pay as you go, it is our pick over the Ritz-Carlton for its relaxed style and family features. The 264-room resort sits at the quieter north end of the beach, and reviewers praise attentive staff, immaculate upkeep, shallow pools and a splash area for kids, and dining from the brunch to the tasting menu at Ave. Complaints are few and small: food is pricey, mosquitoes can be a nuisance, and early arrivals may wait a couple of hours for a room. Book Kimpton Seafire for a luxury beach week, a family trip with young kids or a honeymoon where food quality matters; skip it if you want an all-inclusive price or a budget stay.
Skip it if You want one price for food and drinks.
Our category scores
Pros

What guests say
May to September 2026 reviewers praise friendly, attentive service, immaculate upkeep, shallow pools and a kids' splash area, ocean views and dining from the bottomless brunch to the tasting menu.
The few complaints are that food is a little pricey, mosquitoes can be a nuisance and an early arrival waited a couple of hours for a room.

Pros & cons
The Cayman Islands for an all-inclusive trip: why go, why not
Reasons to go
- Seven Mile Beach is one of the Caribbean's best beaches
- World-class wall diving on Little Cayman and Cayman Brac
- Safe, easy, English-speaking and close to Miami
- Dive packages bundle meals, drinks and diving
- Stingray City and calm, clear water
Reasons to think twice
- Only one all-inclusive resort on Grand Cayman
- Very expensive food and drink
- The all-inclusive is far from Seven Mile Beach
- Passport required
- Wet, stormy September to November
The Reef Beach Resort all-inclusive (formerly Wyndham Reef): what's included and what it costs
The Reef sells its Standard All-Inclusive as an add-on to a room-only booking, with a 4-night minimum, per the resort's package page in October 2026.
| Dates | Adult per day | Child 4–17 | Child 0–3 |
|---|---|---|---|

| Dec 19, 2026 – Apr 2, 2027 | $189 | $80 | Free |
| Apr 3 – Dec 19, 2027 | $151 | $80 | Free |
| Dec 20 – 31, 2027 | $189 | $80 | Free |
Included: breakfast at Tides (one main or the buffet, plus coffee and juice); lunch at the Beach Bar (appetizer, entrée and dessert) or a foot-long Subway combo; dinner at the Beach Bar, the theme-night buffet or Tides; all-you-can-drink soft drinks, local beer, house wine and house-brand spirits by the glass; one hour a day of kayaks and paddleboards; snorkel gear, the gym and Wi-Fi; and, unusually, tax, gratuities and the resort fee.
Not included: prime steaks, lobster, baked seafood, seafood platters, salmon and lamb, and anything other than domestic spirits. The plan starts with dinner on arrival day and ends with breakfast on departure day.
For two adults in the cheaper season, that is $302 a day on top of the room. Because tax and tips are already inside the price, it compares well with eating out on Grand Cayman, where a single resort breakfast buffet can cost about $50 per adult.

Little Cayman and Cayman Brac: all-inclusive dive packages compared
For divers, the Sister Islands are the real Cayman all-inclusive. Clearly Cayman's two resorts publish the same package structure on Little Cayman Beach Resort's site and Cayman Brac Beach Resort's site; Southern Cross Club prices per person per night on its rates page.
| Package (7 nights, per person) | What's included | Jan 10 – Jul 31, 2026 | Aug 1, 2026 – Jan 9, 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Little Cayman Beach Resort, Classic Cayman | 3 meals daily, 21 drinks, 17 boat dives, Brac dive trip, transfers, taxes, resort fee and gratuities (not dive tips) | $3,095 pool view / $3,695 ocean front | $2,695 / $3,295 |
| Little Cayman Beach Resort, Cayman Escape | Breakfast and dinner, no drinks, 12 boat dives | $2,795 / $3,395 | $2,395 / $2,995 |
| Cayman Brac Beach Resort, Classic Cayman | 3 meals daily, 21 drinks, 17 boat dives incl. a Little Cayman Bloody Bay trip | $2,795 beach view | $2,395 |
| Southern Cross Club (no diving) | Beach bungalow, all meals, taxes, 10% service fee, transfers, bikes, kayaks, paddleboards | $2,924 summer | $3,371 winter |
The drink packages cover menu cocktails and well drinks, beer, cider, house wine and soft drinks. Non-divers can book meal plans at Little Cayman Beach Resort too. We have not verified a current guest rating for Little Cayman Beach Resort, so it does not get a scored card below; Cayman Brac Beach Resort, run by the same company, does.

Grand Cayman all-inclusive vs. Seven Mile Beach: where to stay
| Area | What's there | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seven Mile Beach (West Bay Road) | Ritz-Carlton, Kimpton Seafire, Westin, Marriott, condos, Camana Bay | Beach, restaurants, nightlife, families | No all-inclusive plans; expensive dining |
| George Town | Cruise port, museums, dive hotels such as Sunset House | Shore diving, budget stays | Busy on cruise days; few beaches |
| East End | The Reef, Morritt's, Compass Point | All-inclusive, quiet, shore diving | 40+ minutes from Seven Mile Beach restaurants (our estimate) |
| North Side and Rum Point | Rum Point, Starfish Point, villas | Calm water, Stingray City access | Very quiet |
| Little Cayman and Cayman Brac | Dive resorts, wall diving, birdlife | Divers who want meals included | Extra flight on Cayman Airways; few restaurants |
Our rule of thumb: book Seven Mile Beach if the beach and restaurants are the point of the trip, The Reef if a single price matters more than location, and the Sister Islands if you dive.

How to do Seven Mile Beach without an all-inclusive (and what food really costs)
Most visitors to Grand Cayman build their own version of all-inclusive, and the prices explain why the habit matters:
- A Trip.com listing for the Westin puts its breakfast buffet at $50.15 per adult and $25.08 per child.
- A May 2026 Westin guest noted that a cocktail priced at $23 came to about $30 in U.S. dollars once the exchange rate and the included gratuity were added. Menus are often in Cayman dollars, fixed at CI$0.82 to US$1.
- Kimpton Seafire charges about $30 for an adult breakfast, per its Trip.com listing.
Ways to cut costs: book a condo or suite with a kitchen (Sunshine Hotel & Suites, the Westin's neighbors along West Bay Road, or The Reef's condo units); shop at the big supermarkets near Camana Bay; eat lunch at local spots and save resort dining for one or two dinners; and check whether a gratuity is already on the bill before tipping again.
If you would rather not think about any of this, the honest alternative is a destination with more choice, such as Jamaica or Turks and Caicos.
Best time to visit the Cayman Islands
Cayman is hot all year: average highs at Owen Roberts International Airport run from about 83°F in January to 90°F in July and August, based on the Cayman Islands National Weather Service 1991–2020 normals. Rain is what changes:
- December to April: the dry season, with 1.2–2.6 inches of rain a month. This is peak season, and The Reef's all-inclusive rate rises to $189 per adult from December 19.
- May to August: wetter (5–6 inches a month) and quieter, with good diving and lower rates.
- September to November: the wettest stretch, with October averaging about 9.6 inches. The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 according to the National Hurricane Center, and this is when the risk peaks.
For divers, visibility is good all year, and the August-to-January package prices on the Sister Islands are $300–$400 per person cheaper than the first half of 2026.

Getting there: passports, flights and island hops
- Entry: U.S. citizens need a valid passport.
- Flights: Grand Cayman's Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) is about 480 miles south of Miami, and Visit Cayman Islands notes nonstop service from most major U.S. hubs. Flying time from Miami is a little over an hour.
- Sister Islands: Cayman Airways flies from Grand Cayman to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. A January 2026 Undercurrent reader report describes Southern Cross Club staff waiting at the Little Cayman airstrip to transfer guests.
- Transfers: Seven Mile Beach resorts are roughly 10–20 minutes from the airport (our estimate). The Reef offers a shared shuttle through its sister company Cayman Visitor; allow 40 minutes or more to East End.
- Money: the Cayman Islands dollar is fixed at CI$0.82 to US$1. U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere, but the Southern Cross Club notes a conversion surcharge of about 2% when you pay in the other currency.
Mistakes to avoid when booking an all-inclusive in the Cayman Islands
- Booking an old list. Pirates Point has closed, Wyndham no longer runs The Reef, and Margaritaville does not list a Grand Cayman resort on its own site.
- Expecting a Seven Mile Beach address. The only all-inclusive is in East End, far from the famous beach. Guests on The Reef's own site describe its beach as narrow and eroded near the water.
- Forgetting the menu limits. The Reef's plan excludes lobster, prime steaks, salmon and premium spirits.
- Paying for diving you will not do. Sister Island packages are priced per diver; ask for non-diver or meal-plan rates for partners who do not dive.
- Ignoring the minimum stay. The Reef requires four nights on its plan, so a long weekend will not qualify.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
Tripadvisor's Grand Cayman and Seven Mile Beach forums have fielded 'are there any all-inclusives?' questions for two decades, and the answer has barely changed. Regulars say all-inclusives are few and far between on Grand Cayman, that none are adults-only, and that the island's restaurant scene is the reason most visitors do not miss them. The Reef in East End is the name that comes up every time; some older posts also mention short-lived all-inclusive options at other resorts, and dive resorts such as Cobalt Coast that bundle lodging, food and diving but not alcohol. The most common advice is to rent a condo near Seven Mile Beach and eat out, or to look at Jamaica, the Dominican Republic or Mexico if an all-inclusive is essential. Many of these threads are years old, so treat specific prices and plans as history and check the resorts' own sites. This summary draws on the three Tripadvisor Grand Cayman and Seven Mile Beach forum threads linked below rather than on Reddit.
Threads asking for an adults-only all-inclusive on Grand Cayman get the same answer from regulars: there is not one, and the island's few all-inclusive options are family-friendly.
In a thread weighing which hotel to pick and whether to go all-inclusive, posters point to The Reef in East End as the main all-inclusive and suggest Seven Mile Beach condos plus eating out as the alternative.
A Seven Mile Beach forum thread asking whether all-inclusive is worth it on Grand Cayman draws replies that the restaurant scene is part of the appeal, and that travelers set on an all-inclusive should consider other islands.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are there all-inclusive resorts in the Cayman Islands?
Very few. On Grand Cayman, only The Reef Beach Resort in East End sells an all-inclusive plan, from $151 per adult per day in 2026 with a four-night minimum. On Little Cayman and Cayman Brac, dive resorts sell 7-night packages that include meals, drinks and boat dives, and Southern Cross Club includes all meals but not drinks. The big Seven Mile Beach resorts are room only.
Is the Wyndham Reef Resort still all-inclusive?
The property is now called The Reef Beach Resort, formerly the Wyndham Reef Resort Grand Cayman, and it still sells all-inclusive packages. The Standard All-Inclusive add-on costs $151 per adult per day from April 11 to December 18, 2026 and $189 from December 19, 2026 to April 2, 2027, with children 4–17 at $80 and under-4s free. Tax, gratuities and the resort fee are included.
Are there all-inclusive resorts on Seven Mile Beach?
No. The Ritz-Carlton, Kimpton Seafire, Westin, Marriott and other Seven Mile Beach hotels sell rooms only, sometimes with breakfast or resort credits. Expect high food prices: a Trip.com listing puts the Westin's breakfast buffet at about $50 per adult. Many visitors book a suite with a kitchen and mix grocery meals with restaurant dinners.
What do Little Cayman all-inclusive dive packages include?
Little Cayman Beach Resort's Classic Cayman package covers 7 nights, three meals a day, a 21-drink package, 17 boat dives including a Cayman Brac trip, airport transfers, taxes, resort fees and gratuities except dive tips. It cost $3,095 per diver in a pool-view room for January to July 2026 and $2,695 from August 2026 to early January 2027.
When is the best time to visit the Cayman Islands?
December to April is the dry season, with about 1.2 to 2.6 inches of rain a month, and the most expensive time to go. May to August is wetter but quieter. September to November is the wettest period, with October averaging about 9.6 inches, and the peak of hurricane season, which runs June 1 to November 30.
Do I need a passport to visit the Cayman Islands?
Yes. U.S. citizens need a valid passport to enter the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman is about 480 miles south of Miami with nonstop flights from many U.S. cities, and Cayman Airways connects Grand Cayman with Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.
Is Pirates Point Resort still open?
We could not find it operating. A May 2024 Undercurrent dive report from a Southern Cross Club guest says Pirates Point closed, and the resort's website did not load when we checked in October 2026. For an all-inclusive-style stay on Little Cayman today, look at Little Cayman Beach Resort's packages or Southern Cross Club.
Can I use U.S. dollars in the Cayman Islands?
Yes. U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere, but prices are often quoted in Cayman Islands dollars, which are fixed at CI$0.82 to US$1. That means a CI$23 cocktail costs about US$28 before any added gratuity. Southern Cross Club notes a conversion surcharge of about 2% when you pay in the other currency.
