Quick answer
- The best Greece all-inclusive resort is Ikos Aria on Kos: 4.9 of 5 on Tripadvisor from 3,600+ reviews and No. 1 in Greece on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list.
- Crete has the most choice at every budget: Stella Island (adults-only lagoon resort), Cactus Royal ($164–$351/night) and Grecotel Marine Palace (families) are our picks.
- Santorini has almost no true all-inclusives. Stay there on a B&B basis for a few nights, then move to Crete for the all-inclusive part of the trip.
- Outside Greece: Ikos Andalusia is the best in Spain, Club Med Da Balaia the pick in Portugal's Algarve, and Club Med Cefalù the rare Italian option, in Sicily.
- Turkey's Belek coast near Antalya is Europe's all-inclusive capital: Maxx Royal Belek scores 4.9 of 5 from 13,500+ reviews but can run past $1,000 a night.
- Go in late May–June or September. Most Greek resorts open only from about April or May to October, and late July–August is peak price and crowd season.
Our verdict
Our verdict: book an Ikos if you can, Crete if you can't
For most Americans, the best all-inclusive trip in Europe is a week at Ikos Aria on Kos. It pairs Greek-island beaches with the most complete package we found: à la carte dining, premium wine, kids' clubs and a night out at a local taverna, all included. It also tops Tripadvisor's 2026 all-inclusive list for Greece. If the price is too high, Ikos Oceania in Halkidiki gets you the same system for less, with older rooms.
Couples should look at Stella Island on Crete, an adults-only lagoon resort. Travelers watching the budget can book Cactus Royal in Stalida for roughly a quarter of the Ikos price. Just expect buffets, not à la carte dinners.
If you want a splurge, Maxx Royal Belek in Turkey is the most polished all-inclusive in Europe. It's a real alternative to the top resorts in Mexico. If you want a shorter trip, Ikos Andalusia near Málaga is the easiest Ikos to reach from the US. Our picks are based on 2026 Tripadvisor awards, recent review patterns, published inclusions and the rates we saw in October 2026. We have not stayed at these resorts.

Greece all-inclusive resorts: which island to choose
Greece has a lot of all-inclusive resorts, but they are packed into a handful of places. Crete has by far the most, then Rhodes, Kos, Corfu and the Halkidiki peninsula near Thessaloniki. The Cyclades, including Santorini, Mykonos and Paros, have very few. Pick the island first and the resort second.
| Area | Airport | All-inclusive supply | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crete (Hersonissos, Stalida, Rethymno, Chania) | Heraklion (HER), Chania (CHQ) | Largest in Greece, every budget | Families, value, longer stays |
| Kos | Kos (KGS) | Moderate, led by Ikos Aria | Luxury beach weeks |
| Rhodes (Kolymbia, Lindos, Kiotari) | Rhodes (RHO) | Large, mostly mid-range | Couples, history day trips |
| Corfu | Corfu (CFU) | Moderate, two Ikos resorts | Green scenery, Corfu Town |
| Halkidiki | Thessaloniki (SKG) | Moderate, two Ikos resorts | Families, calm water |
| Santorini | Santorini (JTR) | Very few | Caldera views, not all-inclusive |
Crete
Crete is the safe default. It is big enough that a week at a resort doesn't feel like being stuck on a rock, and it has every price level. Tripadvisor lists more than 1,500 hotels on the island. Most all-inclusives sit along the north coast east of Heraklion, in Hersonissos, Analipsi and Stalida. The west, near Chania, got a flagship in 2026 when Ikos Kissamos opened. Our Crete picks are Stella Island (adults-only), Cactus Royal (value) and Grecotel Marine Palace (families).
Kos and Rhodes
Kos is small and windy, with long sandy beaches in the southwest, where Ikos Aria sits. Rhodes is bigger. Its east coast from Kolymbia down to Lindos and Kiotari is lined with resorts, and the medieval Old Town and the acropolis at Lindos make the best day trips in the Dodecanese.
Corfu and Halkidiki
Corfu is greener and more Italian in feel. The two Corfu Ikos resorts, Dassia and Odisia, are the high end, and Kerkyra Blue is the value play near town. Halkidiki is the mainland family option. Ikos Oceania and Ikos Olivia ranked second and fourth in Greece on Tripadvisor's 2026 all-inclusive list.

1Best overall in Greece
Ikos Aria
Kefalos, Kos, Greece

Guest ratings
Tripadvisor4.9/5 · 3,638Trip.com9.6/10 · 65Kayak8.6/10 · 76Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Ikos Aria is the resort we would book first in Greece, and the numbers back that up. It rates 4.9 of 5 on Tripadvisor across more than 3,600 reviews. It also ranked first among Greek all-inclusives, and fourth in all of Europe, in Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best list. What you're paying for is the Ikos model at its most polished: eight restaurants, à la carte rooms with menus created with Michelin-starred chefs, a wine list of more than 100 labels, a kids' club, spa facilities and a Dine Out night at a local restaurant, all in the rate. The 47-acre site on Kefalos Bay is about 20 minutes from Kos airport.
The catches are predictable. It is expensive: our Kayak check found $681 to $2,589 for a single late-October night. À la carte slots and the free electric cars book up fast. In school-holiday weeks, reviewers say the resort feels very family-heavy, and Kos is a windy island. Book it if you want the most complete all-inclusive in the Aegean and will reserve dinners early.
Skip it if You want an adults-only atmosphere in July or August, or you would rather spend under $500 a night.
Our category scores
Pros
- No. 1 all-inclusive in Greece on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best list
- Every restaurant, including à la carte, and 100+ wines included
- Dine Out at local restaurants and a free electric car for a day
- Spotless rooms and grounds, according to recent reviews
Cons
- Among the most expensive stays in Greece
- Very child-heavy during UK and European school holidays
- À la carte dinners and cars must be booked well ahead
- Kos is windy, and a few reviewers mention worn carpets in corridors
- Rooms
- 373 rooms and suites, some with private pools
- Restaurants
- 8 (Ouzo, Seasons, Anaya, Kos, Provence, Flavors, Oliva, Fresco), plus 9 bars
- Opened
- May 2019
- Airport transfer
- About 20 minutes from Kos airport (KGS)
- Size
- 47 acres on Kefalos Bay
What guests say
The hotel itself is impeccably clean with simple but stylish decor.
Probably the best all inclusive hotel we have stayed at.
Several 2026 reviewers say the resort is overwhelmingly geared to young children during school holidays, that à la carte restaurants and the complimentary cars fill up, and that the gym is small at busy times.
Deluxe pool area was very large and busy, didn't feel deluxe or exclusive.

2Best for families (best-value Ikos)
Ikos Oceania
Nea Moudania, Halkidiki, Greece
$431–$1,084 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Ikos Oceania is the cheapest way into the Ikos system, and it's one of the best-reviewed all-inclusives in Europe. It rates 4.9 of 5 on Tripadvisor from more than 6,100 reviews and placed second in Greece, and fifth in Europe, on the 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list. You get the same core inclusions as the newer Ikos resorts. There are four à la carte restaurants plus a buffet, Dine Out at local tavernas, kids' clubs and six pools, all on 350 meters of Blue Flag beach about 40 minutes from Thessaloniki airport. Tripadvisor's average partner rates ran $431 to $1,084 a night before taxes when we checked in October 2026. Ikos Aria's figure comes from a different check (Kayak, one late-October night, $681 to $2,589), so the two are not like-for-like, but Oceania is clearly the cheaper Ikos.
The trade-offs are physical. The resort is built into a hillside with steps, which parents on forums flag as hard work with strollers or for guests with limited mobility. Reviewers also call some rooms small or dated, and the indoor buffet room uninspiring. Ikos says rooms and suites are being redesigned for 2027. Book now for the price, or wait for 2027 if room polish matters most.
Skip it if Anyone in your party struggles with stairs, or you want brand-new rooms.
Our category scores
Pros
- 4.9/5 from 6,100+ Tripadvisor reviews, No. 2 in Greece for 2026
- Full Ikos inclusions at a noticeably lower price
- 350 m Blue Flag beach and six pools
- Short 40-minute transfer from Thessaloniki
Cons
- Hillside layout with steps and slopes
- Rooms smaller and older than newer Ikos resorts (redesign due 2027)
- Fewer restaurants than Ikos Aria or Andalusia
- Mainland Greece rather than an island
- Rooms
- 298 rooms and family suites
- Restaurants
- 5: Anaya, Flavors (buffet), Provence, Ouzo, Fresco
- Pools
- 6 outdoor, including an infinity pool
- Beach
- 350 m Blue Flag beach
- Airport transfer
- About 50 km, roughly 40 minutes, from Thessaloniki (SKG)
What guests say
The restaurants at Ikos are among the best we have experienced at any hotel.
our initial disappointment was the size of the room for 3 adults
Parents in an August 2026 thread called Oceania the cheapest Ikos with exceptional service, but warned that its hillside setting is hard going with small children and that it is due for refurbishment.

3Best adults-only
Stella Island Luxury Resort & Spa
Analipsi (Hersonissos), Crete, Greece
$286–$675 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Stella Island is Crete's best-known adults-only all-inclusive. It's built around a winding lagoon pool lined with swim-up rooms and overwater-style bungalows, so it looks more Maldives than Aegean. It holds 4.7 of 5 on Tripadvisor from about 2,100 reviews, and with 225 rooms it's smaller than the giant family resorts nearby. Reviewers love the pools, the grounds and the range of restaurants. Many call it romantic, and some say it set a new standard for them.
The complaints are specific and worth reading before you book. Swim-up rooms open onto a shared pool, not a private one. The all-inclusive has limits: a narrower spirits list, a tray charge for room service and ordering limits in some restaurants. The beach is outside the resort. A few 2026 reviews also report maintenance problems such as plumbing odors and missed restocking. Tripadvisor partner rates ran $286 to $675 a night. Book it for a pool-centered couples' week near Hersonissos. Skip it if a sandy beach outside your door is the point.
Skip it if Beach time matters more than pool time, or you expect every drink and room-service order to be included.
Our category scores
Pros
- Adults-only, with a lagoon pool and swim-up rooms
- Several à la carte restaurants plus a good buffet, per reviewers
- Manageable size (225 rooms) compared with nearby mega-resorts
- Close to Hersonissos for nights out
Cons
- No beach on site
- Swim-up rooms share a communal pool
- All-inclusive limits on premium drinks and room service
- Scattered 2026 complaints about maintenance and value
- Rooms
- 225, including swim-up rooms, overwater-style bungalows and private-pool villas
- Age policy
- Adults only
- Signature feature
- Lagoon pool winding through the property
- Location
- Aposelemis/Analipsi, east of Hersonissos on Crete's north coast
What guests say
Our room was just amazing, we booked a swim up bungalow.
Stella has set a completely new standard for us.
Critical 2026 reviews say the resort is not worth the money at peak rates, citing shared swim-up pools with little privacy, a limited alcohol selection, a tray charge for room service and, in one August stay, a persistent sewage smell in the bathroom.

4Best value (adults-only)
Cactus Royal Spa & Resort
Stalida (Hersonissos), Crete, Greece
$164–$351 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Cactus Royal is our value pick in Crete. It was also one of the surprises on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list, placing third in Greece and sixth in Europe. It's an adults-only, 177-room resort in Stalida on the north coast east of Hersonissos, with three pools and a well-reviewed spa. The all-inclusive is buffet-based: the hotel says all meals are served as buffets, with themed nights and show cooking. Tripadvisor's average partner rates were $164 to $351 a night, roughly a quarter of an Ikos.
Expect what that price buys. Reviewers praise friendly staff, cleanliness and an easy walk to the beach and Stalida's tavernas. They also report plastic loungers in short supply, pre-mixed drinks, thin walls and limited evening entertainment. One September 2026 reviewer said it now feels like a good four-star rather than a five-star, and one guest reported a €105 weekly climate fee at checkout. Book it to save money and eat out in Stalida a few nights. Skip it if you want à la carte dining.
Skip it if You want à la carte restaurants, premium drinks or lively nightly shows.
Our category scores
Pros

- Dining
- All meals as buffets, with themed nights and show cooking

The staff could not have been friendlier, food was varied, fresh and delicious.
The sun loungers are plastic and not enough of them.
the level now corresponds more to a good 4-star hotel.

5Best for families on a budget
Grecotel Marine Palace & Aqua Park
Panormo, Rethymno, Crete, Greece
$158–$564 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Grecotel Marine Palace & Aqua Park is the Crete pick for families who want water slides and a proper beach without Ikos prices. The 419-room resort sits by Panormo, between Rethymno and Heraklion. It made Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list for Greece and rates 4.5 of 5 from about 2,600 reviews. Tripadvisor's average partner rates of $158 to $564 a night make it one of the cheaper big family resorts on the island, and Panormo village is close by for a taverna dinner.
Reviewers consistently praise the friendly staff, the beach, the pools and the aqua park. The negatives are what you'd expect from an older resort: dated rooms in places, noise from the slides and nearby rooms, and unheated slide pools that guests found very cold in September and October. There are also scattered reports of broken air-conditioning or TVs. Some guests were unclear about which restaurants and transfers were included, so get the inclusions in writing. Book it for a kid-centered beach week. Skip it if you want quiet or modern rooms.
Skip it if You're a couple seeking quiet, or you travel in shoulder season mainly for the slides.

6Best on Rhodes
Atlantica Imperial Resort
Kolymbia, Rhodes, Greece
$159–$508 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026; board basis varies by rate
Our take
Atlantica Imperial is our Rhodes pick. It's an adults-only, 262-room beachfront resort in Kolymbia on the island's east coast, rated 4.7 of 5 from about 5,900 Tripadvisor reviews and a 2026 Travelers' Choice winner. Reviewers come back for the calm adults-only atmosphere, spotless rooms and grounds, attentive staff and a good spa, and Lindos and Rhodes Old Town are both within day-trip range.
Be careful with the board basis. Tripadvisor reviewers describe stays on half board with an all-inclusive upgrade, so confirm you're buying the full all-inclusive rate if that's what you want. Food is the most divisive topic. Some guests rave about the buffet variety and themed nights, while others call restaurant quality and crowded outdoor dining the low point of their stay. The open-plan bathrooms also bother couples who value privacy. Tripadvisor's average partner rates were $159 to $508 a night. Book it for a quiet couples' week with Lindos day trips. Skip it if you want à la carte dining every night.
Skip it if You want lively nightlife or multiple à la carte restaurants included.
Our category scores
Pros
- Adults-only on a beach in Kolymbia
- 4.7/5 from nearly 5,900 Tripadvisor reviews
- Spotless rooms and friendly staff, per reviewers
- Good base for Lindos and Rhodes Old Town
Cons
- Half board unless you pay for the all-inclusive upgrade
- Food quality divides reviewers
- Open-plan bathrooms offer little privacy
- Quiet surrounding area beyond the beach

What guests say
The hotel is peaceful and relaxing, and the cleaning staff were really excellent.
The main downside was restaurant and food quality.
The bathrooms in the rooms are open plan, and the little frosted half door across the toilet might as well not be there.

7Best value on Corfu
Kerkyra Blue Hotel N' Spa by Louis Hotels
Alykes Potamou, Corfu, Greece
$225–$480 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Kerkyra Blue is the best-value all-inclusive we found on Corfu. It ranks fifth in Greece, and ninth in Europe, on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list and holds 4.8 of 5 from just over 1,000 reviews. It sits at Alykes Potamou, about 4 km from Corfu airport and around 3 km from Corfu Town. That's handy if you want to mix pool days with evenings in the Venetian old town. Its 240 rooms draw steady praise for spotless housekeeping, warm staff and an easy sunbed situation. Partner rates of $225 to $480 a night undercut Corfu's two Ikos resorts by a wide margin.
The downsides are clear in recent reviews. Pool music is loud, evening entertainment is thin, some guests smoke or vape on the terraces, and the location means taxis (about €20 to town) once you tire of the bus. It's a family hotel, not adults-only. Book it for value and easy access to Corfu Town. Pick Ikos Dassia or Ikos Odisia instead if you want the full luxury package.
Skip it if You want an adults-only resort or a big beach right outside the door.
Our category scores
Pros
- No. 5 all-inclusive in Greece on Tripadvisor's 2026 list
- Close to Corfu airport and Corfu Town
- Spotless rooms and friendly staff, per reviewers
- Far cheaper than Corfu's Ikos resorts
Cons
- Loud pool music and limited entertainment
- Smoking on outdoor terraces
- Taxis needed for most outings
- Set-menu limits at the à la carte Greek restaurant
- Rooms
- 240
- Airport transfer
- About 4.3 km from Corfu airport (CFU)
- Corfu Town
- About 3 km; roughly 10 minutes by bus

What guests say
The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and greeted us as soon as we arrived
The lack of entertainment would prevent me from returning
Several summer 2026 reviewers complained about loud music around the pool, smoking and vaping on terraces, and the hotel's isolated position, with taxis of about €20 to Corfu Town.

8Best in Spain
Ikos Andalusia
Estepona, Costa del Sol, Spain
Our take
Ikos Andalusia is the best all-inclusive in Spain and, in our view, the easiest Ikos for Americans to reach. Málaga is about a 50-minute transfer, and connections through Madrid or Barcelona are plentiful. It opened in May 2021 as the first Ikos outside Greece. Tripadvisor named it the top hotel in Spain in 2023, and Time Out picked it as the best all-inclusive in Europe in March 2026. The scale matches the reputation: 425 rooms, suites and villas, eight à la carte restaurants plus a main Mediterranean restaurant, eight bars, nine pools and a 420-meter serviced beach near Estepona. Trip.com guests score it 9.6 of 10 across 74 reviews.
The complaints we found were minor, such as a faulty door lock or a wish for shade over the kids' playground. The real drawback is price, which sits firmly in the Ikos luxury tier, though we didn't capture a live nightly rate. The Costa del Sol is also a more built-up, resort-town coast than the Greek islands. Book it if you want Ikos quality with a shorter, simpler trip from the US, plus easy day trips to Marbella, Ronda or Gibraltar.
Skip it if You want a remote island feel or a budget under $500 a night.
Our category scores
Pros
- Time Out's best all-inclusive in Europe, 2026
- Nine restaurants, eight bars and nine pools included
- 420 m serviced beach
- Easiest Ikos to reach from the US
Cons
- Luxury pricing
- Costa del Sol is more built-up than the Greek islands
- Busy with families in school holidays
- Popular restaurants need booking early
- Rooms
- 425 rooms, suites and villas
- Restaurants
- 8 à la carte plus 1 main restaurant; 8 bars
- Pools
- 9 heated indoor and outdoor pools
- Beach
- 420 m

What guests say
Amazing resort. Service exceptional. We stayed for 14 nights and loved every minute.
Several minor issues - patio door lock not operating on arrival
The one thing I'd change is I think they need to construct shade over the kids playground.

9Best in Portugal
Club Med Da Balaia
Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal
$358–$737 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Club Med Da Balaia is Portugal's best-known all-inclusive and our pick for active families who want sports, kids' clubs and Algarve cliffs in one package. The 372-room resort sits on clifftop grounds east of Albufeira. It made Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list for Europe and rates 4.3 of 5 from about 8,500 reviews, one of the deepest review records of any resort in this guide. Reviewers single out the food variety, the sea-view Zen pool, cleanliness, the friendly staff and a daily activity program that keeps kids and parents busy.
The weak spots are typical of an older, large resort: noise and thin soundproofing, dated rooms, and a few reports of drain odors. Several reviewers also note that the clientele and entertainment lean heavily French, which can leave English speakers a little on the sidelines. Tripadvisor's average partner rates ran $358 to $737 a night. Book it for a sporty family week in the Algarve in spring, summer or autumn. Skip it if room quality or quiet ranks above activities.
Skip it if You want modern rooms or a quiet couples' retreat.
Our category scores
Pros
- On Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list for Europe
- Strong kids' clubs and sports program
- Clifftop sea views and an adults' Zen pool
- Algarve is easy to reach via Lisbon
Cons
- Noise and thin walls
- Rooms dated in places
- Atmosphere leans French
- Extras outside the package are pricey
- Rooms
- 372
- Location
- Clifftop above Praia Maria Luísa, east of Albufeira
- Included
- Meals, drinks, sports, kids' clubs
- Nearest airport
- Faro (FAO)
What guests say
The food was excellent, with a good choice at every meal, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely.
Large complex, there is always noise somewhere, whether it's the gardeners, a game, an event, or the music.
A June 2026 family reported an unbearable sewage smell in one of their rooms, and other reviewers mention dated rooms and a French-dominated program that can leave English speakers out.

10Best in Italy
Club Med Cefalù
Cefalù, Sicily, Italy
Our take
Italy has very few true all-inclusive resorts, and Club Med Cefalù is the one we'd book. It sits on a rocky cape outside Cefalù on Sicily's north coast, looking across the Tyrrhenian Sea to the town's famous headland. It's about 90 minutes from Palermo airport. There are 321 rooms, including private villetta bungalows, three pools including an infinity pool, and 28 included activities such as fitness, yoga, hiking and watersports. Club Med's site shows a 4.6 Tripadvisor score from about 4,900 reviews, and Trip.com guests rate it 9.1 of 10.
Know what it isn't. Club Med says there are no traditional kids' or teen clubs here, so it suits couples and families with older children. The setting is a cape, so don't expect a wide sandy beach. Summer 2026 reviews on Trip.com also flagged an overbooked feel, a constantly changing activity schedule and patchy housekeeping, so manage expectations in July and August. Book it to pair Sicilian food and sightseeing in Cefalù and Palermo with an easy all-inclusive base. Skip it if you need kids' clubs.
Skip it if You're traveling with young children who need a kids' club.

11Best luxury splurge
Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort
Belek, Antalya, Turkey
$528–$6,938 per night for two · Tripadvisor average partner rates for a standard room, taxes excluded, shown Oct 2026
Our take
Maxx Royal Belek is the most polished all-inclusive we found in Europe, and it competes directly with the top luxury resorts in Mexico. Tripadvisor rates it 4.9 of 5 from more than 13,500 reviews, which is a remarkable score at that volume. Its 'Maxx Inclusive' ultra all-inclusive concept covers a 531-room resort with a golf club, multiple pools and a long stretch of Belek's sandy coast outside Antalya. Reviewers keep coming back for the service (including an app-based assistant), the cleanliness, the range of food, the kids' club and the evening entertainment.
Cost is the problem. Tripadvisor's average partner rates spanned $528 to $6,938 a night when we checked, and even happy repeat guests question value for money. Recent reviews also mention worn bathrooms in some older rooms, slow check-in and check-out, noisy main restaurants, and sunbed shortages for large groups. Some operators note that champagne and top-shelf brands cost extra. Book it for a no-compromise luxury week with kids or golf clubs. Skip it if you'd rather spend the same money on two Greek island trips.
Skip it if Value matters more than polish, or you want a small, quiet hotel.

What guests say
This was our second visit to Maxx Royal Belek, and I can say from the outset that the quality hasn't changed at all.
The room stock, already a bit worn, shows big flaws in the bathrooms
Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio for this hotel doesn't quite add up
12Best for golf and big-family fun
Regnum Carya
Kadriye, Belek, Antalya, Turkey
Our take
Regnum Carya is the Belek resort for families who want everything at once. It's a 553-room ultra all-inclusive with its own Carya Golf Club, which Regnum bills as Europe's first and only fully floodlit golf course. It also has the Aqualantis water park, the Bamboo Kids World club, a longevity-focused spa and a summer concert series. According to the resort's own YouTube channel, Jennifer Lopez played in 2025 and Ricky Martin in 2024. It rates 4.7 of 5 on Tripadvisor from about 8,000 reviews, and October 2026 reviewers praised the childcare, activities and entertainment.
Not every recent stay went smoothly. Some summer 2026 reviewers, several translated from Russian, said quality has dropped and that the stay wasn't worth the money. Read the newest reviews before booking peak weeks. Compared with Maxx Royal down the coast, it's a little less polished but has even more going on. Book it for a busy family week or a golf trip with non-golfers in tow. Skip it if you want a quiet, intimate resort.
Skip it if You want calm and intimacy, or you're unwilling to read recent reviews before paying peak rates.

What guests say
The childcare, the varied activities, and the entertainment program are simply great!
Several June and July 2026 reviews (translated from Russian) say quality has dropped noticeably and that the stay was not worth the money at peak-season prices.
Shame really as so much was outstanding.

Pros & cons
Should you book an all-inclusive in Greece or Europe?
Reasons to go
- Europe's best all-inclusives, Ikos and Maxx Royal, rival Mexico's top resorts on food and service
- Greek islands pair resort days with real history: Lindos, Knossos, Corfu Town
- Bone-dry summers, with almost no rain on Crete from June to August
- Lots of adults-only and family options on Crete and Rhodes
- Visa-free for US citizens in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Turkey
Reasons to think twice
- Longer, costlier flights than the Caribbean, usually with a connection
- Short season: most Greek resorts close from about November to April
- Peak summer clashes with European school holidays and top prices
- Inclusions vary widely, and half board is often sold as the default
- Beaches are public in Greece, and some resorts have none on site
Santorini all-inclusive resorts: why there are so few
Short answer: Santorini is not an all-inclusive island, and the 'best all-inclusive resorts in Santorini' lists you see online are mostly hotels with breakfast or a dining credit. None of the 15 Greek hotels on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list for Greece is on Santorini.
The reasons are practical. The caldera hotels in Oia, Imerovigli and Fira are small properties built into the cliffs, often with a few dozen suites and no room for a buffet or several restaurants. The island is also built for wandering. You walk between villages for sunset, eat at tavernas in Ammoudi or Pyrgos, and go out on a catamaran. An all-inclusive rate would mean paying for meals you'd skip. Some beach hotels on the flatter black-sand coast at Kamari and Perissa do sell full-board or all-inclusive packages, but they aren't why people go to Santorini.
What we recommend instead
Split the trip. Spend three or four nights on Santorini on a breakfast-included rate, then take a summer ferry or a short flight to Crete for a week at an all-inclusive. You get the caldera views and the pool days, and you're not paying all-inclusive prices on the most expensive island in Greece.

All-inclusive resorts in Spain, Portugal and Italy
Western Europe has fewer all-inclusives than Greece or Turkey, but the good ones are very good. They also tend to be easier to reach from the US.
Spain
Ikos Andalusia near Estepona on the Costa del Sol is the standout. Time Out named it the best all-inclusive in Europe in its March 2026 list. Its sister, Ikos Porto Petro in Mallorca, opened in 2023 and has five pools on the southeast coast, under an hour from Palma airport. It adds new villas for 2026. Tripadvisor's 2026 all-inclusive list for Spain leans toward mid-priced family hotels: Iberostar Waves Alcudia Park and Iberostar Waves Cala Domingos in Mallorca, plus Club Med Magna Marbella. For winter sun, the Canary Islands are the only realistic beach all-inclusive option in Europe. Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace and two adults-only Tenerife hotels, Meliá Jardines del Teide and Barceló Santiago, made the same list.
Portugal
In the Algarve, Club Med Da Balaia near Albufeira is the established choice. 3HB Clube Humbria in Olhos de Água made Tripadvisor's 2026 Europe all-inclusive list. Time Out picked Iberostar Selection Lagos, a 220-room beachfront hotel, as the budget family option. Most Algarve hotels sell rooms with breakfast or half board, so filter for all-inclusive carefully.
Italy
Italy is the hardest country in this guide for true all-inclusives. Tripadvisor doesn't publish a separate all-inclusive ranking for Italy. Only two Italian hotels, a Puglia masseria and a Tuscan spa hotel, made its Europe list, and neither is a beach resort. Our Italian pick is Club Med Cefalù in Sicily. Otherwise, Italy works better as a luxury hotel trip with half board.
Turkey: Europe's all-inclusive capital in Antalya and Belek
If Greece is Europe's best all-inclusive destination for scenery, Turkey's Turquoise Coast is the best for sheer choice and scale. Belek, east of Antalya, is a strip of golf courses and huge beachfront resorts. Tripadvisor lists 109 hotels in Belek and 56 more in neighboring Kadriye, and the top ones carry review counts that rival the biggest resorts in Cancun:
| Resort (Belek area) | Tripadvisor | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort | 4.9 / 5 | 13,525 |
| Rixos Premium Belek | 4.8 / 5 | 13,672 |
| Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek | 4.6 / 5 | 11,949 |
| Regnum Carya | 4.7 / 5 | 8,056 |
| Kaya Palazzo Golf Resort | 4.7 / 5 | 7,938 |
'Ultra all-inclusive' is the norm here. It usually covers several à la carte restaurants, 24-hour snacks, branded drinks, kids' clubs, water parks and big nightly shows, but check the fine print. Some operators note that champagne and top-shelf brands at Maxx Royal cost extra. The newest big opening is Regnum The Crown, a wellness-focused sister to Regnum Carya, which Time Out included in its 2026 list. Away from Antalya, Lujo Hotel Bodrum and Robinson Camyuva near Kemer ranked second and third in Europe on Tripadvisor's 2026 all-inclusive list.
For Americans, Turkey has two practical advantages. US citizens with ordinary passports can visit visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180. And the season runs long, with resorts busy from spring into late autumn. The trade-off is the journey: you'll usually connect through Istanbul, so plan on a long travel day each way.

What all-inclusive means in Europe (it varies more than in Mexico)
In Cancun or Punta Cana, all-inclusive usually means the same thing everywhere. In Europe, the term covers everything from buffet-only plans to the most generous packages in the world, so read the inclusions line by line. If you're new to the format, start with what an all-inclusive resort includes.
| Style | Example | What you typically get |
|---|---|---|
| Luxury, everything included | Ikos resorts | All restaurants including à la carte, 100+ wines, room service, kids' clubs, a Dine Out night at local restaurants, a free electric car for a day |
| Brand all-inclusive with limits | Grecotel LUXME | Buffet plus a set number of à la carte dinners (Creta Palace: five per seven nights) |
| Buffet all-inclusive | Cactus Royal | All meals as buffets, themed nights, house drinks |
| Half board with an AI upgrade | Atlantica Imperial | Breakfast and dinner unless you pay for the upgrade |
| Club Med | Da Balaia, Cefalù | Meals, drinks, daily sports and activities; spa and some experiences extra |
| Turkish ultra all-inclusive | Maxx Royal, Regnum | Several restaurants, 24-hour food, branded drinks, water parks; premium bottles may cost extra |
Taxes, fees and tips
Greece charges a per-room nightly climate resilience fee at check-out. One 2026 Cactus Royal reviewer reported paying €105 for a week. Tipping is appreciated but not built into the culture the way it is at Caribbean resorts. A few euros for housekeeping and a tip for a standout waiter is plenty.
Best time to go to a Greek all-inclusive
The season is shorter than many Americans expect. Most Greek island resorts open from roughly April or May to late October and close for winter. That's why rates for late October are often a fraction of August's.
- Late May to June: warm (Heraklion averages 74–79°F highs), with almost no rain and lower prices than midsummer. Our favorite window.
- July and August: hottest (about 83°F average highs on Crete) and driest. Prices peak with UK and European school holidays. Parents on Mumsnet quote around £10,000 per room per week at Ikos in August. Kos and the Cyclades also get the strong summer meltemi wind.
- September: still hot (about 80°F on Crete), with warm seas and fewer families after schools go back. Excellent value.
- October: mild (about 74°F) but the first rains arrive, and some resorts close before month's end.
- November to March: most Greek resorts are closed. For winter sun in Europe, look at the Canary Islands. For a guaranteed beach week, the Caribbean or Mexico are better bets.
Turkey's Belek resorts run a longer season, and Club Med Da Balaia in the Algarve is a reasonable spring or autumn option thanks to its activity program.

Getting there from the US and entry rules
Flights
Athens is the main gateway for Greece. American Airlines flies seasonal nonstops from New York JFK, Philadelphia, Chicago O'Hare and Charlotte, and it added a fifth gateway, a daily Dallas–Fort Worth flight, from May 21, 2026, according to Aviation24. Delta flies to Athens from Atlanta, Boston and New York JFK. From Athens, domestic flights reach Heraklion, Chania, Kos, Rhodes and Corfu in about an hour. Many travelers skip Athens and connect through another European hub straight to the islands.
For Spain, fly into Málaga, or into Madrid or Barcelona and connect. For Portugal, fly via Lisbon to Faro. For Sicily, use Palermo or Catania. For Turkey, connect in Istanbul to Antalya.
Entry rules for US citizens
- Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy are in the Schengen area. US citizens can visit for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure.
- The EU's Entry/Exit System registers non-EU travelers' fingerprints and a photo at the border, so allow extra time at passport control on your first entry. The separate ETIAS pre-travel authorization is due to follow, so check the official EU travel site for its current start date before you fly.
- Turkey: visa-exempt for US ordinary passport holders for up to 90 days in any 180 days, per the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
New for 2026: openings and relaunches
Several of the biggest changes in European all-inclusives landed this year:
- Ikos Kissamos, Crete: opened in spring 2026 on Kissamos Bay west of Chania. It's the first Ikos on Crete, with 414 rooms and suites, six à la carte restaurants plus The Market, and eight pools. Ikos's official page covers the details. It's too new for a meaningful review record, so we left it out of our ranked list for now, but early travel-agent write-ups praise the food and drinks package.
- Grecotel Creta Palace, Crete: reopened on May 15, 2026 after a winter renovation as part of Grecotel's LUXME all-inclusive collection, with five à la carte dinners in every seven-night stay, according to Touristik Aktuell.
- Aulūs Lindos Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton: the resort long sold as Lindian Village, near Lardos, relaunched in April 2026 with 188 rooms and suites, most with private pools or hot tubs, under an ultra all-inclusive concept (Hospitality Net). Some booking sites still show the old Lindian Village name.
- Domes of Elounda, Crete: this Autograph Collection resort sells an all-inclusive 'Haute Living' hotel-within-a-hotel option on top of its standard rates.
- Ikos Oceania: rooms and suites are being redesigned for 2027, so 2026–27 bookings may be your last chance at the current, lower price point.
Mistakes to avoid when booking a European all-inclusive
- Booking August without checking school holidays. European families fill resorts from mid-July to late August. Ikos Aria reviewers say the resort becomes very child-focused in those weeks. Couples should aim for June or September, or go adults-only.
- Assuming the beach is private. In Greece, beaches are public by law. Even resorts with beach service share the sand. Stella Island has no beach of its own at all.
- Not booking à la carte dinners early. At Ikos and other popular resorts, prime dinner slots and the free car go fast. Book on arrival or before.
- Buying half board by accident. Mid-range resorts on Rhodes and Crete often sell half board as the default rate. The all-inclusive upgrade is a separate line.
- Ignoring the sunbed situation. At mid-priced resorts, reviewers often complain about too few loungers and early-morning towel reservations. Swim-up rooms help.
- Picking Santorini or Mykonos for an all-inclusive. These islands are built for B&B stays and eating out. Use Crete, Kos, Rhodes or Corfu for the resort week.
- Overlooking the transfer. Ikos Aria is about 20 minutes from Kos airport and Ikos Andalusia about 50 minutes from Málaga. Club Med Cefalù is about 90 minutes from Palermo, so factor that into a short trip.
For current promotions, including early-booking discounts that Ikos offers for bookings made before early November, see our all-inclusive deals page.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
On parenting and travel forums, the most consistent advice is that Ikos is the benchmark for European all-inclusives. Parents in an August 2026 Mumsnet thread called it expensive but worth it, and said it's the only family holiday that leaves them fully relaxed. Regulars pass along the same practical tips: skip the Deluxe upgrade on a first visit, travel at Easter, in May or in late September instead of August, and know that kids' clubs suit under-8s far better than older children. Oceania gets flagged for its hills, Dassia for small rooms and Odisia as the newest Corfu option.
Skeptics make a fair point. In a separate August 2026 thread on Greek family holidays, one poster argued that good all-inclusives are hard to find and that local tavernas beat resort food. Mid-range resorts such as Stella Palace drew praise for swim-up rooms that dodge sunbed wars, but criticism for weak included wine. Our reading: in Greece, all-inclusive pays off at the top end (Ikos) and for families with young kids. For couples at mid-range prices, half board plus tavernas can be the better deal.
Ikos regulars compare resorts: Oceania is cheapest with great service but hilly, Dassia older with smaller rooms, Odisia newer and larger. Posters say kids' clubs suit under-8s, skipping Deluxe is fine on a first trip, and Easter, May or late September cost far less than August.
Parents sharing their best Greek family holidays praise Ikos Odisia as expensive but worth it and Stella Palace's swim-up rooms and waterpark, while others argue that good all-inclusives are hard to find and you eat better at local restaurants.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the best all-inclusive resort in Greece?
Ikos Aria on Kos is the best all-inclusive resort in Greece for most travelers. It rates 4.9 of 5 on Tripadvisor from more than 3,600 reviews and ranked No. 1 in Greece on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list. Every restaurant, including à la carte, is included, along with premium wines and a Dine Out night at a local taverna. For a lower price, Ikos Oceania in Halkidiki ranked second. For adults-only on Crete, look at Stella Island.
Are there any all-inclusive resorts in Santorini?
Very few, and none worth building a trip around. Santorini's caldera hotels are small cliffside properties that sell rooms with breakfast, and none of the Greek hotels on Tripadvisor's 2026 Best of the Best all-inclusive list is on the island. A few beach hotels in Kamari and Perissa offer full-board or all-inclusive packages. Our advice is to spend three or four nights on Santorini on a B&B basis, then take a ferry or short flight to Crete for the all-inclusive part of your trip.
Which Greek island is best for an all-inclusive vacation?
Crete. It has the most all-inclusive resorts at every price, from Cactus Royal at around $164 a night to the new Ikos Kissamos, and it's big enough for great day trips to Knossos, Chania, Balos and Elafonisi. Choose Kos for Ikos Aria and long sandy beaches, Rhodes for adults-only value and Lindos, and Corfu for greenery and Corfu Town. Avoid the Cyclades if all-inclusive is the priority.
When are all-inclusive resorts in Greece open?
Most Greek island resorts run a season from about April or May to late October and close for the winter. The best weather-to-price balance is late May, June and September. On Crete, average highs are around 74–80°F and it barely rains. July and August are hottest and most expensive because of European school holidays. For a winter all-inclusive in Europe, look at the Canary Islands, or consider the Caribbean.
Is Turkey or Greece better for an all-inclusive?
Turkey has more and bigger all-inclusives, longer seasons and a more lavish ultra all-inclusive style. Belek alone lists 109 hotels on Tripadvisor, and Maxx Royal Belek rates 4.9 of 5 from more than 13,500 reviews. Greece wins on island scenery, history and smaller-scale resorts, and Ikos sets the standard for food. Pick Turkey for a resort-focused family or golf week, and Greece if you want to explore beyond the resort.
Are there all-inclusive resorts in Italy?
Only a handful. Italy's hotels mostly sell breakfast or half board, and Tripadvisor doesn't publish an Italy-only all-inclusive ranking. Our pick is Club Med Cefalù in Sicily: 321 rooms on a cape outside Cefalù, three pools and 28 included activities, about 90 minutes from Palermo airport. It has no traditional kids' clubs, so it suits couples and families with teens.
Are there all-inclusive resorts in Spain and Portugal?
Yes. In Spain, Ikos Andalusia near Estepona is the standout, and Time Out named it Europe's best all-inclusive in 2026. Ikos Porto Petro in Mallorca and several Iberostar hotels on Tripadvisor's 2026 Spain all-inclusive list are strong alternatives, and the Canary Islands offer winter sun. In Portugal, Club Med Da Balaia near Albufeira is the best-known Algarve all-inclusive. 3HB Clube Humbria and Iberostar Selection Lagos are other options.
Do US citizens need a visa for Greece or Turkey?
No. Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy are in the Schengen area, where US citizens can stay up to 90 days in any 180 without a visa. Your passport should be valid at least three months beyond departure, and you'll be registered in the EU's Entry/Exit System at the border. Check the EU's travel site for the start date of the ETIAS authorization. Turkey's Foreign Ministry says US ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for up to 90 days in any 180.
How much does an all-inclusive trip to Greece cost?
For two people for a week in summer, budget roughly $3,000 at the low end and $11,000 or more at the top. Flights from the US typically run $1,400–$3,200 for two. Resort rates in this guide ranged from about $158–$351 a night at value Crete resorts (Tripadvisor partner averages, before taxes) to $681 and up at Ikos Aria (Kayak, one late-October night). Add transfers, Greece's nightly climate resilience fee, tips and a few excursions.
