Quick answer
- The best all inclusive family resorts in 2026: Beaches Turks & Caicos for the widest range of ages (Kids Camp with certified nannies, a 45,000-square-foot water park, Sesame Street) and Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana for the highest guest score (4.9/5 on 7,567 Tripadvisor reviews).
- Best for babies and toddlers: Club Med Punta Cana, where Baby and Petit Club Med take children from 4 months to 3 years.
- Best water parks: Hard Rock Punta Cana (26 slides), Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun (14 slides and two lazy rivers) and Club Med Punta Cana (its largest water park, 25-plus features).
- Best for teens and active families: Hotel Xcaret México, where the rate includes unlimited entry to Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor and other parks.
- Kids-stay-free deals are narrower than they sound: Royalton's covers one child and one teen in select family suites only, so price your exact ages.
- Jamaica: Beaches Negril reopened December 6, 2025 after Hurricane Melissa. Beaches Ocho Rios closed for good in May 2025.
Our verdict
Our verdict: Beaches Turks & Caicos if you can afford it, Royalton Splash if you can't
If money is not the limiting factor, Beaches Turks & Caicos is the family all-inclusive we would book first. It works for every age at once: certified nannies in Kids Camp, Sesame Street for little ones, a 45,000-square-foot water park for the middle years, a teen disco, scuba for parents, and tips, taxes and airport transfers already in the price. Grace Bay's calm water is the cherry on top. The catch is value: it is the resort's weakest Tripadvisor sub-score.
For most budgets, Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun is the value alternative: 14 water slides, a free kids' club for ages 4 to 12, a short transfer from Cancun airport and a real kids-stay-free rule in family suites, though its food and service reviews are weaker and include some stomach-illness claims. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana posts the best reviews of any family resort we compared, Club Med Punta Cana is our pick for babies and toddlers, and Hotel Xcaret México is the one to choose if your kids are old enough to want ziplines and underground rivers instead of a kids' club.
These picks are based on official resort information, Tripadvisor ratings and recent review patterns as of October 2026. We have not stayed at these resorts as guests of the properties.

How we chose the best all inclusive family resorts
Family all-inclusives succeed or fail on things the brochure photo never shows: whether the kids' club takes a 3-year-old, whether five people fit in one room, how far the water park is from the beach, and what happens to the price when your 'free' child turns 13. We compared each resort on:
- Kids' and teen clubs: ages, hours, and whether they cost extra
- Water parks and pools: slides, lazy rivers and splash zones
- Rooms: family suites, connecting rooms and kids-stay-free rules
- Babies and toddlers: clubs for under-4s, nannies and baby gear
- Guest scores: Tripadvisor ratings and review counts in October 2026, plus Tripadvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice awards
- Getting there: airport transfer time and nonstop flights from the U.S.
Price tiers ($ to $$$$) reflect where each resort sits relative to the others for a family room. Family pricing swings far more than couples pricing, because each resort charges children differently, so always quote your exact ages and dates.

Our take
This is the most complete family all-inclusive in the Caribbean, and the one we would book if budget were not the constraint. It is built as themed villages (Italian, French, Caribbean, Key West and the new Treasure Beach Village, which debuted in 2026) along Grace Bay, with a 45,000-square-foot water park, about two dozen dining options including food trucks, 10 pools and Kids Camp staffed by certified nannies. Sesame Street characters, a teen disco, included scuba diving, and all tips, taxes and airport transfers round it out, per Beaches.
Tripadvisor reviewers rate it 4.3/5 on about 17,000 reviews. The October 2026 reviews we read are a fair picture: parents rave about how kid-centric it is and how good the beach is on the Caribbean Village to Treasure Village side, but food is called fairly mediocre, the steakhouse is hard to book, value is the weakest sub-score, and one family reported cockroaches. It is expensive, but nothing else does tots, tweens and teens this well at once.
Skip it if You are on a tight budget, or you only have teens who will not use Kids Camp or the Sesame Street program.

What guests say
This was honestly the best resort I’ve been to, and I’ve been to over 20 countries.
The same October 2026 parent loved the kids' activities and Sesame Street but called the food fairly mediocre, said the Italian Village side of the beach was rougher with seaweed, and suggested ramps because beach access is by stairs.
Another October 2026 family reported cockroaches in their room and in restaurants and were unhappy with how management handled it; a different guest said a steakhouse reservation was lost and they could not be seated until 9:30 p.m.

2Best value water park
Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun
Riviera Cancun (near Puerto Morelos), Mexico
$355–$700 per night for two · Kayak averages per room/night for two: September ~$358 (cheapest), December ~$698 (priciest); recent bookings $273–$382; checked Oct 2026
Our take
Royalton Splash is our value pick for families who want a big water park without Beaches prices. It is huge (1,005 suites, 12 restaurants and 10 bars) and built around kids: a water park with 14 slides and two lazy rivers, a free kids' club for ages 4 to 12, a supervised teens' club, and paid extras like an indoor trampoline park, bowling and laser tag, per Royalton. It is about 20 to 25 minutes from Cancun airport, and select family suites let one child and one teen stay free.
Reviews are more mixed than at pricier resorts: 4.2/5 on about 6,600 Tripadvisor reviews and 7.8/10 on Kayak. Families love the water park, shows and butlers, and one October 2026 parent said a food-allergic child ate safely at dinner. Recurring gripes are food quality in some restaurants, service and check-in, sargassum smell in autumn and a beach that one reviewer called the worst they had seen, and a few reviewers report stomach illness they blamed on the food. Individual claims are hard to verify, but it is enough of a pattern to buy travel insurance and pack basic stomach medicine. Treat it as a water-park resort that happens to be by the sea, not a beach resort.
Skip it if A swimmable, beautiful beach is the main reason you are going.

What guests say
An October 2026 family on their first Mexico trip said the kids loved the water park, shows were fun for adults too, and their butlers handled lunch delivery and bookings to keep a food allergy under control.
A group of four families in early October 2026 liked the kids' activities and water park but described poor food and slow service in the restaurants, a disappointing beach and a strong sargassum smell during their stay.

Our take
No family all-inclusive we compared has better guest scores: 4.9/5 on more than 7,500 Tripadvisor reviews. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is the family-friendly twin of the adults-only Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, with 375 rooms on Juanillo Beach in the gated Cap Cana enclave, the Canapolis water park with a lazy river and slides, a KidZ Club and a Teen Lounge, per Costco Travel's listing. Parents can also use extra adults-only restaurants at the Zilara next door, and the stay earns World of Hyatt points.
October 2026 reviewers single out the kids' club staff, the entertainment team and the food, and one mother said the kids' club and water park were perfect for her 3- and 5-year-olds. The trade-offs are price and scale: it is more expensive than Punta Cana's big Bavaro resorts and has fewer slides than Hard Rock. Swim-up suites are restricted to guests 13 and older, so families with young kids should book a regular junior suite.
Skip it if You want the biggest water park or the lowest Punta Cana price.

The kids club activities and water park for perfect for my 3 and 5 yo daughters.

4Best for babies and toddlers
Club Med Punta Cana
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Our take
Club Med Punta Cana is the easiest family all-inclusive for parents of very young children. Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med take children from 4 months to 3 years, Mini Club Med covers 4 to 10, and Passworld splits teens into 11 to 13 and 14 to 17. On top of that you get 37 included activities, from flying trapeze and circus school to sailing and tennis, and a new water park that Club Med calls its largest, with more than 25 features, per Club Med. The resort has renovated rooms, a redesigned center and a new restaurant and bar concept, plus an adults-only Zen Oasis.
Guests rate it 4.4/5 on about 25,500 Tripadvisor reviews. Recent reviews praise the tennis and sports coaches, the food and how organized everything is; one family said it is only a five-minute shuttle from the airport. Expect a big, busy resort with a lot of walking, and check which baby-club services need advance booking.
Skip it if You want a quiet, small resort or a strong adult nightlife scene.
Our category scores
Pros
- Clubs from 4 months to 17 years
- Flying trapeze, circus school and dozens of included sports
- New large water park
- Very short airport transfer
Cons
- Large property with lots of walking

- Zen Oasis junior suites with lagoon pool

- Kids under 4 stay free on bookings by Oct 27 for travel through April 2027
What guests say
A family comparing Club Med's two Dominican resorts said Punta Cana is a five-minute shuttle from the airport rather than hours to Miches, and that their boys loved the water park, circus school and trampoline.
A large group in October 2026 said they had the best time but noted a little sargassum in the water, which did not stop them using the beach.
5Best for teens
Hotel Xcaret México
Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico
$936–$1,560 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rates, taxes excluded, viewed Oct 2026
Our take
Hotel Xcaret México solves the problem every parent of teenagers knows: kids' clubs are for little kids. Here the rate is All-Fun Inclusive, which per Hotel Xcaret includes unlimited access to Grupo Xcaret's parks (Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xoxi, Xenses and Xenotes), shuttles to them, and round-trip transfers from Cancun and Tulum airports. Ziplines, underground rivers, snorkeling lagoons and cenotes become part of the package instead of separate ticket purchases. The hotel's Ha' restaurant holds a Michelin star and AAA Five Diamond rating, and there is an adults-only Casa Fuego if parents want a quiet corner.
Tripadvisor reviewers rate it 4.6/5 on about 16,400 reviews, with recent families praising the butlers and bartenders. The downside: the appeal here is pools, rivers and parks rather than a long sandy swimming beach, so check the property map if beach time matters, and it is a large, spread-out property. Book it for active families with kids 8 and up who will actually use the parks.
Skip it if Your kids are under 5 or you mainly want a sandy beach and a kids' club.
Our category scores
Pros
- Unlimited Xcaret park access included
- Airport transfers from Cancun and Tulum included
- Michelin-starred restaurant on site
- Great for teens and adventurous kids
Cons
- Not a long-beach resort; check the map if beach time matters
- Large property with long walks
- Park days are tiring for toddlers
- Included parks
- Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xoxi, Xenses, Xenotes
- Transfers
- Round trip from Cancun and Tulum airports (restrictions apply)
- Dining award
- Ha' restaurant: Michelin star and AAA Five Diamond
- Adults' zone
- Casa Fuego is adults-only
What guests say
The butlers were amazing, and made the biggest difference in the quality of our stay.
Several October 2026 families, including a group of 10, praised the pools and the swim-up bar staff and said the bartenders kept the whole family happy all day.

6Best luxury family resort
Grand Velas Riviera Maya
Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico
$977–$1,398 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates (cheapest October, priciest December), seen Oct 2026
Guest ratings
Tripadvisor4.8/5 · 7,004Kayak8.7/10 · 115Booking.com8.7/10 · 57Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Grand Velas Riviera Maya is the luxury family all-inclusive we would choose in Mexico. Tripadvisor ranked it the No. 2 all-inclusive in Mexico and No. 17 among family-friendly hotels worldwide in its 2026 Travelers' Choice awards, and it is named among AAA's top 10 hotels in the world. The kids' club takes ages 4 to 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. and is included, which means parents can actually eat at Cocina de Autor, the resort's Michelin-starred restaurant. Teens get their own club with consoles, a disco floor and a soft-drink bar, and two-bedroom family suites keep everyone together, per Grand Velas.
Recent reviews are glowing on service and cleanliness, but a guest who has stayed every year since 2013 wrote a detailed October 2026 review saying food selection and restaurant hours have slipped, the Zen section was closed for refurbishment without notice, and room maintenance was patchy. At these prices, that is worth weighing. It's the pick for service and fine dining with kids in tow.
Skip it if You want a water park or are price-sensitive; the extras here are about service, not slides.
Our category scores
Pros
- Kids' club open until 10:45 p.m., included
- Teens' Club and two-bedroom family suites
- Michelin-starred and AAA-recognized dining
- Tripadvisor 2026 Travelers' Choice winner
Cons
- Very expensive
- Long-time guests report fewer restaurant hours and menu options
- Some room maintenance issues in 2026
- Kids' club
- Ages 4 to 12, 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m., included
- Teens
- Teens' Club with gaming, disco floor and teen bar
- Family rooms
- Two-bedroom family suites in Ambassador and Zen Grand sections
- Awards
- Tripadvisor 2026 No. 2 all-inclusive in Mexico; AAA top 10 hotels in the world
What guests say
Grand Velas Riviera Maya continues to exceed our expectations!
A family who has stayed since 2013 said it is still a very nice resort and their grandson loved the Teens' Club, but restaurants open less often, food quality and choice have declined, and their rooms had air-conditioning and fridge problems.

7Best in Jamaica
Beaches Negril
Seven Mile Beach, Negril, Jamaica
$813–$1,647 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rate range for 2 adults, taxes excluded, shown October 2026
Our take
With Beaches Ocho Rios closed for good in 2025, Beaches Negril is now the brand's only Jamaican family resort, and it reopened on December 6, 2025 after Hurricane Melissa. Beaches says every room and suite is new, and the resort sits on the widest stretch of Seven Mile Beach with a Pirates Island water park, 13 restaurants, five bars, three pools, Kids Camp with certified nannies, Sesame Street characters and Club Liquid for teens, per Beaches.
Tripadvisor reviewers rate it 4.5/5 on almost 9,900 reviews. Families with young children are very happy; one October 2026 parent said their 3-year-old loved it. The more critical reviews come from families with adult or older teen children, who found water-sports scheduling frustrating and the adult areas less fun than the kids' areas, and one guest reported a villa leak that took days to fix. Book it for kids under 12 and a classic Jamaican beach; Beaches Turks & Caicos is the better choice for mixed ages.
Skip it if Your children are older teens or adults, or you want a short airport transfer.
Our category scores
Pros
- All-new rooms and suites
- Wide, calm Seven Mile Beach

What guests say
Absolutely loved my stay here! Took my 3 year old for his first International trip and he LOVED it.
Parents traveling with sons aged 18 and 21 praised their butler and the location but said water sports ran on a schedule, a villa leak took about four days to fix, and the kids' areas were far more fun than the adult areas.

8Most to do on site
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana
Macao Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$399–$909 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rates, taxes excluded, viewed October 2026
Our take
Hard Rock Punta Cana is a small city of a resort, with roughly 1,800 rooms on about 121 acres of Macao Beach, a Jack Nicklaus golf course, a casino, and more on-site entertainment than anywhere else on our list, per Wikipedia and Hard Rock. The Rockaway Bay water park has 26 slides split between high-speed rides for teens and adults and gentler slides for young kids, and the Roxity Kids Club, opened in 2023, has trampolines, a small theater and an indoor basketball court. Recent guests also mention bowling, laser tag and escape rooms.
Tripadvisor gives it 4.3/5 on about 43,000 reviews. Families who come for activities are happy; the recurring complaints are food that some call poor for a five-star resort, suites that need updating, and frustrating service recovery when things go wrong. It is the best pick for tweens and teens who want to be busy all day; families who care most about food should look at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana.
Skip it if Food is a priority, or you want an intimate resort.
Our category scores
Pros
- 26-slide water park
- Roxity Kids Club, bowling, laser tag, escape rooms
- Large beach and Jack Nicklaus golf

What guests say
An October 2026 guest called it clean and quiet in the hallways with very helpful staff, listing bowling, henna tattoos, a gelato shop, escape rooms, the spa, the kids' facility, laser tag and the water park among things to do.
A 10-night October 2026 guest found the grounds spotless and staff friendly but said the food was terrible for a five-star resort and they would not return; another said the suites need some care.

9Best value island resort
Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa
Vieux Fort, St. Lucia
Guest ratings
Tripadvisor4.5/5 · 10,260Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Coconut Bay is the most affordable way we know to do a St. Lucia family trip without giving up a water park. The 85-acre resort sits on a mile of beach just five minutes from Hewanorra International Airport, with St. Lucia's largest water park (lazy river and slides including the enclosed Coconut Cannon), the CocoLand kids' club, paintball at The Zone, kitesurfing, nine restaurants, seven bars and five pools, per Coconut Bay. It is split into the family Splash wing, the adults-only Harmony wing and the couples-only Serenity suites, and it recently put $14 million into renovated junior suites.
Tripadvisor reviewers rate it 4.5/5 on more than 10,000 reviews, and it made Tripadvisor's 2026 list of top Caribbean all-inclusives. A September 2026 family with boys of 11 and 15 summed it up: excellent activities team and five-star staff, but rooms with a three-star feel and heavy sargassum on an Atlantic-facing beach that is often choppy. Choose it for value and activities; pick Grace Bay if swimming in calm water matters most.
Skip it if You want calm, clear water for small children right in front of the resort.

What guests say
Fantastic and friendly staff. Uncommercial a d private. Lots of activities and amazing food.
A September 2026 family of four with boys aged 11 and 15 praised the activities team and called the staff five-star, but said their unrenovated rooms felt three-star and an unusual amount of sargassum made the sea unusable.

10Best for butler-level families
Moon Palace The Grand – Cancún
South of Cancun, Mexico
Our take
Moon Palace The Grand is one of the most-booked family resorts in Cancun and holds 4.7/5 on more than 15,000 Tripadvisor reviews. Its strengths are scale and service at the top tier: Diamond Club guests get butlers and concierge pool service, and kids get extras like Circus, a restaurant designed for children as part of the resort's Dreamery program, according to the resort's own video. Palace Resorts opened a second Moon Palace The Grand in Punta Cana, which had only a few hundred Tripadvisor reviews by October 2026.
We rank it lower than its score because recent reviews are polarized in ways families should know about. Several October 2026 guests describe aggressive membership sales pitches, a sense that the best service is reserved for Diamond members, and rooms that need a facelift, while others had a stellar stay with named butlers. If you book, consider the Diamond Club, decline the sales presentation firmly, and compare the all-in price with Hyatt Ziva Cancun or Royalton Splash.
Skip it if Sales presentations would spoil your trip, or you will not pay for the club level.
Our category scores
Pros
- Very high Tripadvisor score on a large review base
- Diamond Club butler service
- Kid-focused extras such as the Circus restaurant
- Close to Cancun airport
Cons
- Frequent complaints about membership sales pressure
- Two-tier feel between Diamond and regular guests
- Some rooms need updating
- Club level
- Diamond Club with butlers
- For kids
- Circus restaurant, part of The Dreamery program
- Sister resort
- Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana (new)
- Airport
- Cancun (CUN)
What guests say
A returning October 2026 guest called it another stellar experience and singled out the Diamond pool concierges and two attentive butlers.
Other October 2026 guests described pressure to buy a membership, trash left in hallways, cold food and the feeling that the best treatment goes to Diamond members; one said the rooms need a facelift.

Kids' clubs and teen clubs compared: ages, hours and cost
A kids' club is the single biggest difference between a family all-inclusive and a regular resort that allows children. Here is what each of our picks publishes:
| Resort | Kids' club | Teens | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beaches Turks & Caicos and Negril | Kids Camp with certified nannies, tots to teens | Teen disco (TCI), Club Liquid (Negril) | Sesame Street characters; Caribbean's first certified Autism Centers at TCI |
| Club Med Punta Cana | Baby and Petit Club Med (4 months to 3 years), Mini Club Med (4 to 10) | Passworld for 11 to 13 and 14 to 17 | Flying trapeze and circus school |
| Grand Velas Riviera Maya | Ages 4 to 12, 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m., included | Teens' Club with consoles, disco floor and soft-drink bar | Kids' spa |
| Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun | Ages 4 to 12, included | Supervised teens' club | Trampoline park, bowling and laser tag cost extra |
| Hard Rock Punta Cana | Roxity Kids Club | Teen activities and Rockaway Bay slides | Club opened in 2023 with trampolines and an indoor basketball court |
| Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana | KidZ Club | Teen Lounge | Swim-up suites are 13+ only |
| Coconut Bay, St. Lucia | CocoLand | The Zone paintball, kitesurfing | Adults-only Harmony wing next door |
Sources: Beaches, Club Med, Grand Velas kids' club and teens' club, Royalton, Hard Rock and Costco Travel's Hyatt Ziva listing.
The rule of thumb: most clubs run 4 to 12. Under 4, you need Club Med, Beaches or a babysitter. Over 12, you need a resort with a teen space and enough adventure on site, or a destination like Xcaret where the parks do the work.
All-inclusive resorts with water parks and water slides
Water parks have become the arms race of family all-inclusives. These are the ones on our list, using each resort's own figures:
| Resort | Water park | What is in it |
|---|---|---|
| Hard Rock Punta Cana | Rockaway Bay | 26 slides: 9 high-speed, 8 for young children, 9 for kids and teens |
| Beaches Turks & Caicos | Pirates Island | 45,000 square feet, big slides, lazy river, swim-up soda bar |
| Club Med Punta Cana | Club Med's largest water park | More than 25 features: games, jets, waterfalls, slides |
| Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun | On-site water park | 14 slides, two lazy rivers, splash zones |
| Beaches Negril | Pirates Island | Slides, lazy river, kids' pools on Seven Mile Beach |
| Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana | Canapolis | Lazy river and slides |
| Coconut Bay, St. Lucia | St. Lucia's largest water park | Lazy river and slides, including the enclosed Coconut Cannon |
If the water park is the main event, Hard Rock and Royalton Splash give you the most slides for the money. If you want a water park plus a calm, swimmable beach for small children, Beaches Turks & Caicos on Grace Bay is the stronger all-round choice.
Want more than a resort water park? At Hotel Xcaret México the all-inclusive rate includes unlimited entry to Grupo Xcaret's parks, including Xel-Há and Xplor, plus transfers to them, according to the resort.

Family suites, connecting rooms and the 'kids stay free' math
Most all-inclusive rates are built for two adults. Children are added on top, and every brand does it differently. Three patterns to know:
- Kids stay free, with conditions. Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun lets one child and one teen stay free when you book select family suites such as the Family, Presidential or Chairman categories. That is a real saving, but only in the bigger suites and only for two children.
- Promotional free child. Club Med's October 2026 offer lets kids under 4 stay free for bookings made by October 27 and travel through April 2027. Ikos advertises a First Child Free offer at its European resorts. These come and go.
- Per-person pricing. At resorts that price each guest, a 13-year-old often costs as much as an adult.
A worked example (hypothetical numbers)
Say a resort quotes $600 a night for two adults in a standard room and $150 a night per child. Two kids for seven nights add $2,100. A family suite at $850 a night with two kids free costs $1,750 more over the week than the standard room, which makes it $350 cheaper and gives you a second bedroom. Now make the older child 13 and charged as an adult: the free-kids suite looks even better. Do this arithmetic with your real quotes; the answer flips often.
Connecting rooms vs suites
Two connecting rooms give you two bathrooms and two sets of adult-rate inclusions, which suits families with teens. A two-bedroom family suite, like those at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, is usually cheaper than two rooms and keeps younger children within earshot. Connecting rooms are requests, not guarantees, at most resorts; get it confirmed in writing.
Babies, toddlers and nannies: who actually helps
Traveling with a child under 4 narrows the field quickly, because most kids' clubs start at 4.
- Club Med Punta Cana is the clearest option: Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med take children from 4 months to 3 years, and the resort is about a five-minute shuttle from Punta Cana airport, according to one recent guest review shown on Club Med's page.
- Beaches runs Kids Camp from tots to teens with certified nannies on staff, and its Turks and Caicos resort has the Caribbean's first certified Autism Centers.
- Most others offer babysitting for a fee and cribs on request. Ask about bottle warmers, strollers and blackout curtains before you go.
Small practical points from recent reviews: one October 2026 Beaches Turks & Caicos guest noted that beach access is by stairs in parts of the resort, which is hard with a stroller, and a Royalton Splash family said their food-allergic child ate safely at dinner but found sit-down breakfast and lunch options harder.
Best family all-inclusive resorts by kids' ages, toddlers to teens
Babies and toddlers (0 to 3)
Club Med Punta Cana and Beaches Turks & Caicos. Look for a calm beach, a shallow pool and a short transfer.
Young kids (4 to 8)
Beaches Turks & Caicos and Negril for Sesame Street, Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun for the water park, Grand Velas Riviera Maya if you want a supervised club open until 10:45 p.m. so parents can have dinner.
Tweens (9 to 12)
Hard Rock Punta Cana and Royalton Splash for slides, bowling and laser tag; Club Med Punta Cana for trapeze and sports.
Teens (13 to 17)
Hotel Xcaret México is the standout: unlimited park access gives teens ziplines, underground rivers and snorkeling instead of a kids' club. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana has a Teen Lounge, Grand Velas has a Teens' Club with a disco floor, and Club Med splits teens into 11 to 13 and 14 to 17 groups.
Multigenerational groups
Beaches Turks & Caicos and Grand Velas Riviera Maya have villa-style or two-bedroom suites, and Ikos Odisia in Corfu added three- and four-bedroom bungalow villas for 2026, per Ikos, if you are open to Europe.
Family all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico and the USA
Caribbean
Turks and Caicos (Beaches) has the calmest, most child-friendly beach on our list. Jamaica's Beaches Negril reopened on December 6, 2025 after Hurricane Melissa, per Caribbean Mag; Beaches Ocho Rios closed permanently on May 31, 2025, and Sandals Resorts has announced future Beaches resorts in St. Vincent, Barbados, Runaway Bay (Jamaica) and Exuma, according to Wikipedia's summary of the brand. St. Lucia's Coconut Bay is the budget-friendly island alternative. See our Caribbean guide and Turks and Caicos guide.
Dominican Republic
Punta Cana has the biggest family resorts at the most competitive prices: Hard Rock, Club Med and Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, in Uvero Alto, is still bookable through its operator Karisma, per Nick Resorts. More in our Punta Cana guide.
Mexico
Cancun and the Riviera Maya are the easiest family trip from most of the U.S., with short flights and many nonstops. Royalton Splash, Moon Palace The Grand, Grand Velas and Hotel Xcaret are all within about an hour of Cancun airport. See our Cancun and Riviera Maya guides.
USA
True family all-inclusives are scarce in the U.S. Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Florida is now listed as closed on Club Med's site, and the property operates as voco Sandpiper All-Inclusive Resort, which presents itself as IHG's first U.S. all-inclusive on its website. It had a modest 3.7/5 on 321 Tripadvisor reviews in October 2026, so we would wait for more reviews. See our USA and Florida guides.

Safety and practical tips for family all-inclusives
- Passports: every child, including infants, needs a passport for international flights to Mexico and the Caribbean. Renewals for kids under 16 require both parents' consent, so start early.
- Pools and beaches: lifeguard coverage varies. Grace Bay and Negril's Seven Mile Beach are calm; St. Lucia's Atlantic-facing south coast can be choppy, as one September 2026 Coconut Bay guest noted.
- Sargassum: several recent reviews at Royalton Splash, Coconut Bay and Beaches Turks & Caicos mention seaweed in late summer and early fall. If the beach matters, travel from about November to March.
- Food allergies: Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana reviewers repeatedly praise how the kitchens handle dietary needs, and a Royalton Splash reviewer said butler service helped manage an allergy. Email the resort before arrival.
- Health and hygiene: a minority of 2026 reviews at large resorts report pests or stomach illness. Read the most recent month of reviews, not the overall score.
- Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Book refundable rates or insurance for summer and early-fall school breaks.
Mistakes families make when booking an all-inclusive
- Picking by stars instead of ages. A luxury resort with a small kids' club can be worse for a 6-year-old than a $$ water-park resort.
- Assuming 'kids stay free' covers all your kids. Read whether it is one child, two, or only in certain suites.
- Paying for a club level you will not use. Royalton Diamond Club and Moon Palace Diamond Club add butlers and private pools; worthwhile for some families, wasted on others.
- Ignoring the transfer. A two-hour bus ride with a toddler can eat your first day. Royalton Splash is about 20 to 25 minutes from Cancun airport; Coconut Bay is five minutes from Hewanorra.
- Booking the sales presentation by accident. Recent Moon Palace and Royalton reviews describe membership pitches at check-in. A firm 'no thank you' is enough.
- Not booking dinners early. At Beaches Turks & Caicos, one October 2026 family could not get a reasonable time at Butch's, the steakhouse. Reserve on arrival or before.
- Forgetting the adults. Several Beaches Negril reviewers with older teens felt the adult areas were less fun than the kids' areas. Match the resort to your whole group.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
Family travelers on Tripadvisor's Jamaica and Negril forums keep giving the same practical advice in 2026: for an all-inclusive with real family infrastructure in Negril, Beaches is the default recommendation, while bigger multigenerational groups are often pointed toward villas or resorts with connecting rooms so nobody is split up. In an October 2026 thread, a group of seven adults and two children aged 4 and 6 was told by a local regular that Beaches is the only family all-inclusive they would recommend in Negril, with Riu Negril suggested as a refurbished alternative with connecting rooms. Review comments add a second theme: transfer time matters with small kids. A family comparing Club Med's two Dominican resorts chose Punta Cana partly because it is a five-minute shuttle from the airport. The consistent takeaway is to choose by your children's ages and room layout first, and by brand second.
Seven adults and two kids aged 4 and 6 planning a December 2027 Negril trip were told Beaches is the only family all-inclusive one regular would recommend there; others suggested Riu Negril for its refurbishment and connecting rooms, or villas to keep the group together.
A family who compared Club Med Punta Cana with Club Med Miches said Punta Cana won for small kids because of the five-minute airport shuttle and more kids' amenities, including the water park, circus school and trampoline.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the best all-inclusive family resort?
For families with kids of different ages, Beaches Turks & Caicos is our top pick: Kids Camp with certified nannies, Sesame Street, a 45,000-square-foot water park, a teen disco and a calm Grace Bay beach, with tips and transfers included. It is expensive. For a lower budget, Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun has 14 slides and a free kids' club for ages 4 to 12. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana has the highest guest score we found (4.9/5).
Which all-inclusive resorts have water parks?
On our list: Hard Rock Punta Cana (Rockaway Bay, 26 slides), Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun (14 slides, two lazy rivers), Club Med Punta Cana (more than 25 features), Beaches Turks & Caicos and Beaches Negril (Pirates Island), Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana (Canapolis) and Coconut Bay in St. Lucia (the island's largest). Hotel Xcaret México goes further by including unlimited entry to Xcaret's parks, such as Xel-Há and Xplor.
What ages do all-inclusive kids' clubs accept?
Most accept children aged 4 to 12, including Royalton Splash and Grand Velas Riviera Maya, and many require kids to be toilet-trained. For younger children, Club Med Punta Cana's Baby and Petit Club Med start at 4 months, and Beaches' Kids Camp runs from tots to teens with certified nannies. Teens usually get a separate space, such as Club Med's Passworld (11 to 17) or Hyatt Ziva's Teen Lounge.
Do kids stay free at all-inclusive resorts?
Sometimes, with conditions. Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun lets one child and one teen stay free in select family suites. Club Med's October 2026 offer lets children under 4 stay free on bookings made by October 27 for travel through April 2027, and Ikos runs a First Child Free offer in Europe. Many resorts charge older kids close to adult rates, so compare the total price for your exact ages.
What is the best all-inclusive resort for teens?
Hotel Xcaret México, because unlimited access to Xcaret's adventure parks is included, which keeps teenagers busier than any kids' club. Hard Rock Punta Cana is a close second for its 26-slide water park, bowling, laser tag and escape rooms. Grand Velas Riviera Maya and Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana have dedicated teen clubs, and Club Med Punta Cana runs separate programs for 11 to 13 and 14 to 17.
Are there family all-inclusive resorts in the USA?
Very few. Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida is listed as closed by Club Med, and the property now operates as voco Sandpiper All-Inclusive Resort, presented as IHG's first U.S. all-inclusive. It had 3.7/5 on 321 Tripadvisor reviews in October 2026. For most U.S. families, Cancun or Punta Cana is a short nonstop flight and offers far more choice.
Which family all-inclusive resorts have nannies or baby clubs?
Beaches resorts staff Kids Camp with certified nannies, and Beaches Turks & Caicos has the Caribbean's first certified Autism Centers. Club Med Punta Cana runs Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med for children from 4 months to 3 years. Most other resorts offer paid babysitting and cribs on request; confirm bottle warmers, strollers and car seats for transfers before you travel.
Is Beaches Negril open after Hurricane Melissa?
Yes. Beaches Negril reopened on December 6, 2025, along with several Sandals resorts in Negril and Ocho Rios, and Beaches says all of its rooms and suites are new. Beaches Ocho Rios is not coming back: it closed permanently on May 31, 2025. Sandals Resorts has announced future Beaches resorts in St. Vincent, Barbados, Runaway Bay and Exuma, but none had opened as of October 2026.
