Quick answer
- The best all inclusive resort deals come from timing first: in Kayak's 12-month data, September is the cheapest month at most Punta Cana and Montego Bay resorts we checked, typically 35 to 50 percent below the December or March average.
- Price the package against the pieces. All-inclusive resort packages with airfare (Expedia, Costco Travel, Apple Vacations, Getaways by Southwest) win most often in peak weeks; booking separately wins when you have points or a cheap fare sale.
- Costco Travel is our default first check for members because most packages add a Digital Costco Shop Card, but you usually give up hotel loyalty points and elite credit.
- Points can be the biggest deal of all: World of Hyatt all-inclusive nights run 12,000 to 85,000 points per night for two under the chart that took effect May 20, 2026, and Hilton Honors adds no extra fees on all-inclusive award stays.
- Watch the sale calendar: Black Friday is November 27, 2026, Cyber Monday November 30 and Travel Tuesday December 1; brands such as World of Hyatt and ALG Vacations ran their biggest 2025 sales in that window.
- Read promo fine print. Kids-stay-free offers have blackout and minimum-stay rules, and big resort credits often come attached to a timeshare-style presentation that forum regulars say runs two hours or more.
Our verdict
Our verdict: book the month, not the coupon
We would rather pay a fair rate in a cheap month than chase a flashy coupon in a peak one. The evidence is blunt: at the Punta Cana and Jamaica resorts we checked on Kayak, average nightly rates in September run 35 to 50 percent below December or March. Start there, then compare one package price (Costco Travel if you are a member, Expedia or Apple Vacations if not) against flights plus a direct resort booking, because direct is where your loyalty points and elite perks count.
For specific resorts, our picks are Barceló Bávaro Beach for the best adults-only value on a top-tier beach, Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort for families who can use the 2026 kids-and-teens-stay-free offer or Hilton points, and Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana for World of Hyatt members. Royalton Splash Punta Cana is the budget way into Marriott Bonvoy all-inclusives, as long as you accept a walk to the beach. Treat resort-credit headlines, like the ones at Moon Palace Cancun, as a bonus rather than the reason to book.

Check all-inclusive prices in All inclusive resorts
Compare the same dates across booking sites — rates for identical rooms often differ by 10–20%.
How all inclusive resort deals actually work
An all-inclusive price bundles your room, meals, drinks, most non-motorized activities and usually taxes and tips into one nightly rate. That makes a deal harder to read than a normal hotel rate, because the same headline price can hide very different inclusions.
Three rules keep the comparison honest:
- Compare per room, per night, for two adults. Package sites often quote per person. A $1,199 per person package is $2,398 for a couple before taxes and fees.
- Check what the base room actually gets. At many big resorts (Royalton's Diamond Club, Hard Rock's upper categories, Dreams' Preferred Club) the best restaurants, beach areas or lounges are reserved for the upgraded tier. Tripadvisor reviewers at Royalton Splash Punta Cana repeatedly say service and dining felt better for club guests.
- Add the extras you will really pay. Transfers, tips, excursions and the occasional surcharge item (the Tripadvisor reviews for Dreams Macao Beach mention a $49.99 lobster tail) can add 10 to 20 percent to a trip.
Marriott's own definition is a useful baseline: its all-inclusive package covers accommodation, food and drink, Wi-Fi, entertainment, non-motorized water sports, kids' activities, taxes, service fees and gratuities, and excludes spa, transportation, tours, motorized sports and select food and drink items, per All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy. 1Best adults-only value
Barceló Bávaro Beach
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$256–$995 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room for two, as listed in October 2026
Our take
We rate Barceló Bávaro Beach as the clearest value buy among adults-only resorts in Punta Cana, mostly because of where it sits. It shares one of the best stretches of Bávaro beach with its sister Palace resort, and Tripadvisor guests give its location 4.7 out of 5, the highest of its sub-scores. The overall 4.4 rating across 16,669 reviews is solid for a 589-room resort at its price.
The weaknesses are the usual ones for a mid-priced Dominican all-inclusive. Recent reviews (August to September 2026) mention dated bathrooms with tub-shower combinations, slow maintenance, the odd roach and buffet staff who range from warm to brusque. The food is fine rather than memorable. If you want a polished luxury feel, look elsewhere.
Book it if beach quality is your priority and you want an adults-only atmosphere without adults-only luxury pricing. It packages well on most US sites, so price it as a bundle first. Our score reflects the beach and value; it would be lower if you judged on rooms alone.
Skip it if You want modern rooms or a luxury adults-only resort; pay up for a Secrets or Excellence property instead.
Our category scores
Pros
- Adults-only on a top-tier stretch of Bávaro beach
- Tripadvisor location score of 4.7/5
- Large resort with plenty of pool and beach space
- Widely available in packages, so sale prices are common
Cons
- Rooms and bathrooms are dated, per recent reviews
- Maintenance and cleanliness complaints appear in 2026 reviews
- Food is average for the price tier

What guests say
Recent guests praise the grounds, the friendly bar and front-desk teams, and a beach where staff work to keep seaweed under control.
Several 2026 reviewers report maintenance problems such as broken bathroom fittings, slow drains, musty rooms and pests, and say repairs were slow.
Even happy repeat guests describe the rooms as slightly dated and the restaurants as due for renovation.
2Best family deal
Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort
South of Cancun's Hotel Zone, Quintana Roo, Mexico
$328–$786 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room, taxes not included, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Hilton Cancun is our pick for families hunting a deal, for two reasons that have nothing to do with a coupon. First, it regularly appears in Hilton's kids-and-teens-stay-free promotions, which in 2026 covered up to two children 17 and under per room on stays of three nights or more. Second, Hilton states it adds no extra fees when you book its all-inclusives with Honors points, which makes it one of the easiest places to turn points into a family trip.
The resort itself earns its 4.6 Tripadvisor rating across 5,738 reviews and a 2026 Travelers' Choice award. It is a 715-room resort on a large, quiet site about 5.8 miles from the airport, with 12 restaurants and bars, three pools and kids' and teens' clubs. Reviewers rave about staff, food variety and how well the kitchens handle allergies.
The beach is the weak spot: recent reviews say sargassum often makes the sea unswimmable in season, and broken pool tiles appear in several reports. The access road from the highway is long. If you want walk-out-the-door Hotel Zone nightlife, this is not it.
Skip it if Swimming in calm, clear sea is the main point of your trip, or you want to walk to bars and restaurants outside the resort.
Our category scores
Pros
- Kids and teens stay free in Hilton's seasonal promotions
- No extra fees on Hilton Honors award stays
- Excellent service and allergy-aware dining in reviews
- About 5.8 miles from Cancun airport
Cons
- Sargassum often affects swimming in season
- Pool tile damage reported by several guests
- Isolated from Hotel Zone restaurants and nightlife
- Rooms
- 715 (Tripadvisor listing)
- Dining
- 12 restaurants and bars (Hilton)

What guests say
Guests in October 2026 single out attentive staff, food variety from the buffet to the taco food truck, and kitchens that handled shrimp and gluten allergies carefully.
Reviewers warn that seaweed can make the sea unsuitable for swimming, and several mention broken or missing pool tiles, with one guest reporting a cut.
Entertainment gets mixed marks: some families love the shows and kids club, others want earlier family shows and more variety.
3Best for Hyatt points
Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana
Macao Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$285–$737 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Dreams Macao Beach is the family resort we would point World of Hyatt members to first in Punta Cana. It is a relatively new 500-room Dreams on Macao beach, north of the main Bávaro strip, rated 4.6 on Tripadvisor across 10,298 reviews and a 2026 Travelers' Choice winner. Guests consistently describe clean, spacious rooms, a lazy river and water slides for kids, and an entertainment team that people name in their reviews.
The deal angle is twofold. As a Hyatt Inclusive Collection resort it earns and redeems World of Hyatt points, which can make a family award stay far cheaper than cash at peak. It is also eligible for the Hyatt-focused promotions ALG Vacations runs through Apple Vacations, such as the 2025 Black Friday instant savings on Inclusive Collection resorts.
The cautions: seaweed comes and goes, pool chairs get reserved early despite a posted rule, butlers and staff can be uneven, and the food rates closer to 7 out of 10 than 9 in several reviews. Paying extra for the Preferred Club is optional, not essential.
Skip it if You want an adults-only atmosphere or a short airport transfer; Macao is farther north than most Bávaro resorts.
Our category scores
Pros
- Earns and redeems World of Hyatt points
- Clean, spacious rooms and strong family facilities
- Eligible for ALG Vacations and Apple Vacations Hyatt promotions

What guests say
October 2026 reviewers describe fast check-in, spacious rooms with balconies, a large breakfast buffet and butlers who went out of their way, including for weddings.
A critical October 2026 review cites a dirty floor under the bed, buffet shortages, low-quality drinks and a $49.99 surcharge for lobster tail.
Summer guests mention seaweed on arrival that cleared within a few days, and loungers reserved before the posted 9 a.m. rule.
4Best Marriott Bonvoy value
Royalton Splash Punta Cana, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$190–$456 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Royalton Splash is the cheapest way we found into Marriott Bonvoy's all-inclusive collection in Punta Cana, and for families with water-park-age kids it is a genuine value. Tripadvisor's partner rates for a standard room ran $190 to $456 in October 2026, well below most branded family resorts nearby, and the water park, pools and round-the-clock room service get steady praise. It is rated 4.3 across 16,201 reviews.
Know what you are buying. A Tripadvisor forum regular describes Splash as the lowest tier of the Royalton family, set inland: the beach is roughly a 10-minute walk through the lobby of sister resort Royalton Punta Cana. Reviews also return again and again to a two-class experience, where Diamond Club and butler guests get noticeably better service and restaurants. Standard-room guests mention dated rooms, loud air conditioning and timeshare pitches on the beach.
Book it if your kids care more about slides than sand, and use Bonvoy points or a package sale. Skip it for a beach holiday.
Skip it if You want to step from your room onto the beach, or you will not pay for Diamond Club and dislike two-tier service.
Our category scores
Pros
- Low rates for a branded family all-inclusive
- Earns and redeems Marriott Bonvoy points
- Big water park and pools
- 24-hour room service
Cons
- Not beachfront; about a 10-minute walk to the sand
- Noticeably better service for Diamond Club guests
- Dated rooms and maintenance issues in reviews
- Rooms
- 525 (Tripadvisor listing)
- Loyalty
- Marriott Bonvoy (Autograph Collection)
- Beach access
- Via sister resort Royalton Punta Cana, about 10 minutes on foot
- Hotel class
- 5 stars (GIATA classification on Tripadvisor)
What guests say
Families praise the water park, lush grounds with wildlife, frequent shuttles, easy lounger access and concierges and butlers who solve problems.
A recurring complaint is that standard guests get less attention and weaker restaurants than Diamond Club guests, along with dated rooms and slow repairs.
A forum regular calls Splash the lowest-tier Royalton and says the beach is about a 10-minute walk via Royalton Punta Cana, though guests can still use the shared beach.
5Best IHG One Rewards option
Iberostar Selection Cancún
Hotel Zone, Cancun, Mexico
$333–$611 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average rates for a standard room, as listed in October 2026
Our take
Iberostar Selection Cancún makes this list for IHG One Rewards members. Since Iberostar Beachfront Resorts joined IHG's program, members can earn points and redeem them at participating Iberostar resorts, which gives IHG loyalists a Hotel Zone all-inclusive option they did not have before. The resort holds a 4.4 Tripadvisor rating across 9,691 reviews and a 2026 Travelers' Choice award.
Guests return for the staff, the steakhouse and buffet, and a location that is easy from the airport and close to the rest of the Hotel Zone. It is a 426-room resort with family entertainment and good beach access, and it suits multigenerational groups well.
The drawbacks are typical of an older Hotel Zone property. Reviewers describe worn rooms, some mold and air-conditioning problems, extra charges that dent the value, slow service in some restaurants and outlets that close in low season. Price it in points before you price it in cash; the cash rates in Tripadvisor's partner data ($333 to $611) are not cheap for the room quality.
Skip it if You are paying cash at peak; newer resorts in Playa Mujeres or Riviera Maya offer more for similar money.
Our category scores
Pros
- Earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points
- Friendly staff and well-liked steakhouse
- Convenient Hotel Zone location
- Travelers' Choice 2026
Cons
- Dated rooms, with some mold and AC complaints
- Some restaurants slow or closed in low season
- Cash rates are high for the room quality

What guests say
October 2026 guests praise easy check-in, kids' entertainment, the steakhouse and staff who made anniversaries and birthdays feel special.
Reviewers mention worn rooms, occasional mold and air-conditioning problems, and extra charges that make the stay feel less good value.
A September 2026 reviewer liked the food and quick check-in but rated the room three out of five and noted outlets closed in low season.

6Best for big-resort sales
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana
Macao, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$399–$909 per night for two · Tripadvisor average standard-room rates, taxes excluded, viewed October 2026
Our take
Hard Rock Punta Cana is the resort we would watch during Black Friday and wave-season sales rather than book at rack rate. With 1,882 rooms it is one of the largest all-inclusives in the Caribbean, which means it has inventory to discount and a huge range of things to do: a water park, bowling, a casino, nightclubs and a long beach. Tripadvisor guests rate it 4.3 across 43,092 reviews, and recent October 2026 reviews credit management with improving the place and a new train system for getting around.
The scale cuts both ways. Reviewers complain about chasing restaurant reservations, slow bars when DJ sets get busy, room-service waits of up to two hours, unreliable trams and persistent membership sales pitches. Value scores trail the other sub-ratings.
At its partner-rate range of $399 to $909 a night, it is not a bargain unless discounted. In a good sale, though, a family or friend group gets more activities per dollar here than almost anywhere in Punta Cana.
Skip it if You want a quiet, intimate resort or dislike planning dinner reservations on vacation.
Our category scores
Pros
- Huge range of activities, from water park to casino
- Long beachfront
- Frequent discounting thanks to its size
- Recent reviews say management has improved operations
Cons
- Restaurant reservations can be hard to get
- Membership and timeshare-style sales pitches
- Long distances and tram waits across the property
- Rooms
- 1,882 (Tripadvisor listing)
- Activities
- Water park, bowling, casino, spa, nightlife
- Tripadvisor sub-scores

What guests say
Recent families praise butler service, pool and entertainment staff, the water park and a new resort train, and say management has improved the resort.
Common complaints include hard-to-get restaurant reservations, aggressive membership pitches, slow room service and long waits for trams.
A September 2026 reviewer loved the beach, beds and water park but found the food mediocre and the payment process confusing.

7Best resort-credit promos (with strings)
Moon Palace Cancun (and The Grand)
Riviera Cancun, south of Cancun airport, Mexico
$455–$820 per night for two · Kayak 12-month averages per room/night for two at Moon Palace Cancun: October ~$456, December ~$821; checked Oct 2026
Our take
Moon Palace Cancun is the poster child for resort-credit deals, so it belongs on a deals page, with a warning label. In October 2026 its Tripadvisor listing advertised up to 45 percent off and a $500 resort credit, and Palace Resorts is known for leading with resort-credit offers. The resort is enormous (2,036 rooms per Tripadvisor), rated 4.5 across 41,014 reviews, and genuinely strong for families: kids' clubs, a water park, golf, many à la carte restaurants and the Monarca dinner show.
The credit is where buyers get tripped up. Credits typically come with per-service caps, and a Tripadvisor forum regular reported in October 2026 that the resort pushes a sales presentation, that past attendees got 1,500 in credits for sitting through it, and that it is never just 90 minutes. Recent reviews also mention dirty pools, unchanged linens, slow room service and crowding in August.
Book it at a sale price for the facilities, not for the credit. Count the credit only for things you would buy anyway.
Skip it if You dislike sales pressure or want a small, calm resort; the scale and the pitch are part of the experience.
Our category scores
Pros
- Frequent discounts plus resort-credit offers
- Excellent family facilities and kids' programs
- Large choice of à la carte restaurants
- Golf on site
Cons
- Persistent sales presentations
- Crowding and slow service at busy times
- Maintenance complaints in 2026 reviews
- Rooms
- 2,036 (Tripadvisor listing)
- Promo seen
- Up to 45% off plus $500 resort credit (Tripadvisor, Oct 2026)
- Tripadvisor sub-scores

What guests say
Couples and families praise named staff, butler service, wedding coordinators, the à la carte restaurants and kids' activities.
Recent critical reviews describe dirty rooms and pools, linens not changed, room service taking nearly two hours and an intense sales presentation.
A longtime forum member says attending the presentation is not required but the resort pushes hard, past attendees received 1,500 in credits, and it runs two hours or more.

The cheapest months for all-inclusive resorts, by destination
Timing beats every coupon we have seen. Kayak publishes the average nightly rate its users found at each hotel over the previous 12 months, including the cheapest and most expensive month. Here is what that data showed for representative all-inclusives in October 2026:
| Resort (destination) | Cheapest month (avg/night) | Priciest month (avg/night) |
|---|---|---|
| Occidental Caribe (Punta Cana) | September ($155) | February ($320) |
| Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa (Punta Cana) | September ($188) | December ($367) |
| Riu Republica (Punta Cana, adults-only) | September ($204) | March ($326) |
| Bahia Principe Escape Ambar (Punta Cana, adults-only) | September ($292) | December ($576) |
| Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach (Montego Bay) | September ($324) | December ($571) |
| Riu Emerald Bay (Mazatlán) | October ($198) | July ($367) |
| Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta | September ($410) | December ($711) |
The pattern is consistent: September and early October are the cheapest weeks in the Caribbean and on Mexico's Pacific coast, and Christmas through March is the most expensive. September is also the statistical peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June 1 to November 30 with most activity between mid-August and mid-October, according to the National Hurricane Center. That is the trade you are making.
The sweet spots we would actually book
- Late April to early June: after spring break, before the heaviest rain and the sargassum peak in many years. Prices are well below winter.
- Mid-November to the week before Christmas: hurricane risk falls away and rates have not hit holiday levels.
- Early January after New Year's week: a short dip before February and March demand.
Mazatlán is the outlier. Its most expensive month in Kayak's data is July, when Mexican families travel, which makes it one of the better winter values for US travelers. For destination-by-destination detail, see our Punta Cana, Cancun and Jamaica guides.

When to book: booking windows, Black Friday, Travel Tuesday and wave season
There are two clocks to watch: when you book the flight and when the hotel or package seller runs its sale.
Flights
Expedia's 2026 Air Hacks report, built on its booking data, found Friday is now the cheapest day of the week to fly and to book in the US edition, and that domestic fares are usually best 15 to 30 days out. A summary of the international findings said booking 31 to 45 days ahead saved about $190 on average versus booking six months out (Business Wire, Johnny Jet). For Christmas, New Year's and spring break, ignore that and book early: the cheap seats on Cancun and Punta Cana routes go first.
Sale season
- Black Friday to Travel Tuesday (November 27 to December 1, 2026). In 2025, World of Hyatt's Cyber Sale offered up to 30 percent off at more than 750 participating properties for stays from November 20, 2025 to April 30, 2026, booked by December 11 (Hyatt). ALG Vacations, the Hyatt-owned seller behind Apple Vacations, ran a Black Friday early-access sale with up to $900 in combined savings on Hyatt's Inclusive Collection resorts (TravelPulse).
- Wave season (January to March). The term comes from cruising, but package sellers and resort brands run big promotions in the same window, often for travel later in the year.
- Summer sales (June to July). ALG ran a summer promotion through July 31, 2025 with up to $400 off international and Hawaii vacations (TravelPulse).
Our rule: if you can travel in shoulder season, book the sale. If you must travel at Christmas or spring break, book as soon as you know your dates, and use a refundable rate so you can rebook if a better sale appears.
All-inclusive resort packages with airfare vs booking separately
Packages that include airfare are not automatically cheaper, but they win more often than people expect, especially in peak weeks. Package sellers buy flights and rooms in bulk and are allowed to hide the individual prices, so the bundle can undercut what you would pay for the same pieces. A Frommer's deal write-up of a Miami-to-Cancun nonstop plus four oceanfront nights found the package through CheapCaribbean was $218 per person less than the same flight and hotel booked separately (Frommer's); that is one dated example, not a rule.
When a package usually wins
- Holiday and spring-break weeks, when public fares spike.
- Smaller departure cities with few nonstops to Cancun, Punta Cana or Montego Bay.
- Families who want transfers handled. Most packages include shared airport transfers, and a Tripadvisor forum thread on Punta Cana found the package seller's private-transfer upgrade cheaper than booking a private car separately.
When booking separately usually wins
- You are paying for the hotel with points or want elite benefits, which usually only apply to direct bookings.
- A fare sale or airline miles make the flight nearly free.
- You want a resort the package seller does not carry, or a specific room category it cannot guarantee.
The five-minute test: price your exact dates as a package on one site, then price the same flight on the airline and the same room category on the resort's own site. Add transfers to the separate total. Whichever is cheaper by more than about $100 for two wins; below that, take the direct booking for the loyalty points and easier changes.
Where to book: Expedia, Costco Travel, Apple Vacations, CheapCaribbean and Southwest compared
The comparison table below sums up each channel. The short version of what each one is, and where it falls short:
Expedia
The biggest online travel agency for flight-plus-hotel bundles, with by far the widest resort selection. It advertises bundle savings and pays rewards as OneKeyCash, which Expedia says can only be spent on Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. The catch: hotel loyalty points and elite benefits usually do not apply to online-travel-agency bookings, and refunds follow each supplier's rules, so a bundle can mix a refundable room with a non-refundable fare.
Costco Travel
Members only (Gold Star membership is $60 a year; Executive is $120 and earns a 2 percent reward on Costco Travel purchases). Most packages include a Digital Costco Shop Card scaled to the trip price; The Points Guy cited examples of $241 at TRS Coral and $306 at Hotel Wailea, and estimated about $300 saved on one Cancun stay versus booking direct. Downsides: limited flight inventory on some dates, minimum stays on some deals, no hotel loyalty points or elite credit, and problems go through Costco's call center rather than the resort.
Apple Vacations
A long-running air-plus-all-inclusive package brand, now part of Hyatt's ALG Vacations distribution business (Hyatt bought Apple Leisure Group in 2021, and its June 2025 Playa acquisition release lists ALG Vacations as part of its all-inclusive distribution platform). Much of its business runs through travel advisors, and its sales often stack extra savings on Hyatt's Inclusive Collection resorts. Shop around if you want a non-Hyatt brand.
CheapCaribbean
Another ALG-family site focused on budget Caribbean and Mexico packages. It has long sold mystery-hotel deals such as Deal of Fortune, where you pick a destination and a minimum rating and learn the resort about a week before departure. Reviews on ConsumerAffairs are mixed, with complaints about refunds and hold times alongside repeat customers who found the lowest prices there.
Getaways by Southwest
Southwest's in-house package product replaced the ALG-run Southwest Vacations, with departures from September 16, 2025. Southwest says packages include all-inclusive resorts at select destinations including Cancun and earn Rapid Rewards points; launch coverage named Playa Hotels & Resorts and Sandos among its all-inclusive partners. Coverage is narrower than Expedia's.
Resort Vacations To Go
The cruise discounter Vacations To Go runs a separate site, Resort Vacations To Go, that searches resort and flight packages by departure airport across Mexico, the Caribbean and beyond. Useful as one more price check rather than a first stop.

What a 7-night all-inclusive trip for two really costs
Using points: Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton and IHG all-inclusive award nights
Hotel points are where an all-inclusive trip can get dramatically cheaper, because an award night covers food and drink for two that would otherwise cost hundreds of dollars a night.
World of Hyatt
Hyatt prices its all-inclusive resorts on a separate chart, per night for double occupancy. Under the five-tier chart that took effect May 20, 2026 (Milesopedia, Prince of Travel):
| Category | Lowest | Moderate | Top |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 12,000 | 20,000 | 25,000 |
| B | 15,000 | 25,000 | 35,000 |
| C | 20,000 | 30,000 | 40,000 |
| D | 25,000 | 35,000 | 55,000 |
| E | 35,000 | 55,000 | 75,000 |
| F | 45,000 | 65,000 | 85,000 |
The top of Category F rose from a previous peak of 58,000 to 85,000 points, so the sweet spot has moved to lower-category resorts on Lowest and Low dates. Hyatt's pool also grew: since March 25, 2026 members can earn and redeem at participating Bahia Principe resorts, about 12,000 rooms across more than 20 hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Spain (Hyatt).
Marriott Bonvoy
All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy (Royalton, Planet Hollywood, Marriott-branded and Luxury Collection resorts) lets members earn and redeem points, with dynamic pricing. Elite members get extras at all-inclusives: a weekly elite cocktail party, discounts on premium alcohol and incidentals from Gold Elite, and exclusive-area access from Platinum Elite (Marriott).
Hilton Honors
Hilton lists early check-in and late check-out for all tiers, a cocktail reception and 15 percent spa discount for Silver and above, and a welcome amenity for Gold and Diamond at its all-inclusives. It also states there are no additional fees when you book using points (Hilton).
IHG One Rewards
IHG members can earn and redeem at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, with redemptions booked on ihg.com; the partnership excludes Iberostar's Cuba hotels (Iberostar). For brand-by-brand detail, see our guides to Hyatt's Inclusive Collection and Hilton, Marriott and other brands.
Kids-stay-free offers and resort credits: read the fine print
For families, a kids-stay-free promotion can be worth more than any percentage discount, because children are often charged a nightly all-inclusive rate of their own.
Hilton's 2026 version is a good template for what to check. Booked by April 30, 2026, it let up to two children or teens aged 17 and under per room stay and dine free with a minimum three-night stay, for travel between mid-April and October 31, 2026, at select all-inclusives including Hilton Cancun, Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya and Zemi Miches, where it applied only to Club Azure rooms, suites and bungalows (Hilton). Note the room-category limit, the age cut-off and the travel window. Other family-focused brands run similar offers from time to time, so ask about them when you price a trip.
Resort credits
Palace Resorts (Moon Palace, Le Blanc) is famous for headline resort credits; in October 2026 its Tripadvisor listing for Moon Palace Cancun advertised up to 45 percent off plus a $500 resort credit. Credits are real money only if you would have bought what they cover anyway, such as spa treatments, tours or room upgrades, and each item usually has a usage cap. In a Tripadvisor forum thread from October 2026, a longtime member said the resort pushes guests to attend a sales presentation, that past attendees received 1,500 in resort credits, and that the session is never just 90 minutes.
Last-minute all-inclusive resorts: when they are really cheaper
Last-minute all-inclusive deals exist, but mostly in low season. Resorts with large room counts (Hard Rock Punta Cana lists 1,882 rooms on Tripadvisor, Moon Palace Cancun 2,036) need to fill them, so low-season rates can soften in the final weeks, and Expedia's 2026 data suggests close-in international fares are often cheaper than booking six months out.
Where last-minute fails:
- Peak weeks. From Christmas through spring break, rates rise as dates approach at popular resorts.
- Specific rooms. Swim-up suites and family rooms sell out first; last-minute buyers get what is left.
- Flights from small airports. The cheap seats are gone, which can wipe out a room discount.
If you are flexible, set a fare alert and a hotel price alert, then book a refundable rate as a placeholder. If prices fall inside your cancellation window, cancel and rebook. That captures most of the upside of waiting with little downside.
Refundability, price tracking and protecting your deal
A cheap non-refundable rate is only a deal if your plans hold. Our checklist before paying:
- Know whose rules apply. On an online travel agency, the airline and the hotel each set their own cancellation terms. The US Department of Transportation's 24-hour rule lets you cancel most airline tickets within a day of booking if the trip is at least a week away.
- Use built-in flexibility where it exists. Southwest says canceled Getaways packages can return a vacation travel credit, though fare differences and supplier penalties may still apply. Most big brands sell a flexible rate alongside a cheaper prepaid one; at all-inclusives the free-cancellation deadline is often several days before arrival, so read it.
- Track the price after you book. Set alerts on Google Flights or Kayak for the flight, and recheck the resort's own site weekly. Expedia publishes a hotel price guarantee; for other sellers, ask before you book whether they will honor a lower price found later.
- Insure the non-refundable part, especially for September and October travel or when the trip includes cheap non-refundable fares.
Price tracking matters most on long-lead bookings: if you book a spring-break trip in August, the same room can show up in a January sale for less.
Mistakes that turn a deal into a dud
- Buying the cheapest room at a resort built around a club level. You may find the best beach, pool or restaurants roped off. Price the club upgrade and decide whether the cheaper resort next door is better value.
- Ignoring location. Royalton Splash Punta Cana is set back from the beach, about a 10-minute walk through its sister resort according to a Tripadvisor forum thread. That is fine for some families and a deal-breaker for beach people.
- Forgetting the extras. Budget $10 to $20 a day in small cash tips, plus transfers if they are not included.
- Booking a 3.5-star resort to save $40 a night. On a seven-night trip, that saves $280. If the food, cleanliness or beach is noticeably worse, it is the wrong saving. Our cheap all-inclusive resorts guide covers what you give up at each price level.
- Assuming the sea will be swimmable. Several recent Tripadvisor reviews at Cancun-area resorts mention sargassum in summer and early fall.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
Forum regulars are pragmatic about deals. In Tripadvisor's Cancun and Punta Cana forums, the most consistent advice is to price the package and the pieces for your exact dates, because neither wins every time. Package transfers get more love than you might expect: in one Punta Cana thread, travelers found the package seller's private-transfer upgrade cheaper than hiring a private car separately. Resort credits get the most skepticism. Moon Palace's credits are real, regulars say, but they are tied to a sales pitch that runs well past its advertised 90 minutes. Tipping threads agree that small daily cash tips in local currency are expected and appreciated even at all-inclusives, which belongs in your budget. This summary draws on Tripadvisor forum threads from September and October 2026.
Moon Palace's vacation planners push a sales presentation; a longtime member says past attendees got 1,500 in resort credits and that sessions are never just 90 minutes.
Punta Cana travelers say a package's private-transfer upgrade was competitively priced versus booking a private car, and pooled package vans handle late flights reliably.
Cancun regulars say cash tips, given daily and preferably in pesos, are standard at resorts, and that gifts are a treat rather than a need.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are all-inclusive resort packages with airfare cheaper than booking separately?
Often, but not always. Package sellers can bundle flights and rooms at prices they are not allowed to show separately, so packages tend to win in peak weeks and from smaller airports. Booking separately tends to win when you pay with hotel points, find a fare sale, or want elite benefits that only apply to direct bookings. Price your exact dates both ways and add transfers to the separate total. If the gap is under about $100 for two, we would book direct for the loyalty points and easier changes.
What is the cheapest month to go to an all-inclusive resort?
September, at most Caribbean resorts. In Kayak's 12-month data for resorts in Punta Cana and Montego Bay, September had the lowest average nightly rate, typically 35 to 50 percent below December or March. Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta follow a similar pattern, though Mazatlán's priciest month is July. September is also the peak of hurricane season, so buy travel insurance and check the resort's hurricane policy. Late April to early June and mid-November to mid-December are the best balance of price and weather.
Is Costco Travel good for all-inclusive resorts?
For members, it is one of the best first checks. Most packages include a Digital Costco Shop Card scaled to the trip cost, and many bundle airport transfers and resort credits. The Points Guy estimated about $300 saved on one Cancun stay versus booking direct, after the Shop Card. The trade-offs are that you usually do not earn hotel loyalty points or get elite benefits, some dates have limited flights, and any problems go through Costco's customer service rather than the resort.
Do last-minute all-inclusive deals really exist?
Yes, mainly in low and shoulder season. Big resorts need to fill rooms, so low-season rates can soften close to arrival, and Expedia data suggests close-in international fares are often cheaper than booking months ahead. In peak periods, from Christmas through spring break, prices usually rise as dates approach, and the best rooms sell out. The safest strategy is to book a refundable rate early as a placeholder, set price alerts, and rebook if a last-minute price beats it.
Can I use hotel points at an all-inclusive resort?
Yes. World of Hyatt is the best-known option, with a separate all-inclusive chart that runs from 12,000 to 85,000 points per night for two since May 20, 2026, and it now includes participating Bahia Principe resorts. Marriott Bonvoy prices its all-inclusives dynamically and adds elite perks such as cocktail parties and premium-drink discounts. Hilton Honors says it charges no extra fees on all-inclusive award stays, and IHG One Rewards members can earn and redeem at participating Iberostar resorts.
When is Travel Tuesday 2026, and is it worth waiting for?
Travel Tuesday falls on December 1, 2026, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following Black Friday on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30. Hotel brands and package sellers run some of their biggest sales in that window; in 2025, World of Hyatt offered up to 30 percent off at participating hotels in the Americas for stays through April 2026. It is worth waiting for if you are booking winter or spring travel and can be flexible. If your dates are fixed for Christmas, book earlier.
Are Expedia all-inclusive packages refundable?
It depends on each part of the booking. Expedia acts as an intermediary, so the airline's fare rules and the hotel's rate rules apply separately, and a bundle can combine a refundable room with a non-refundable ticket. Check each component's cancellation terms at checkout. Most US-departing airline tickets can be canceled within 24 hours of booking if the trip is at least a week away. Expedia's OneKeyCash rewards can only be used on Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo.
Who owns Apple Vacations and CheapCaribbean?
Both are part of ALG Vacations, the travel distribution business that came with Hyatt's 2021 purchase of Apple Leisure Group. Hyatt's 2025 release on its Playa Hotels acquisition describes ALG Vacations as part of its all-inclusive distribution platform. That is why their sales often feature extra savings on Hyatt's Inclusive Collection brands such as Secrets, Dreams and Breathless. They still sell other brands, so compare prices if you prefer a non-Hyatt resort.
