Our verdict
Our verdict: Cap Cana's Hyatts are the benchmark
If you want the best Hyatt all-inclusive experience and the budget allows, book the Cap Cana trio. Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is our top pick for adults: 4.9 on Tripadvisor across 9,749 reviews and 9.3 out of 10 on Kayak, with reviewers praising the property, the staff and the food. Families should book its sister, Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, which adds a water park and night shows. Secrets Cap Cana is the classic romance pick, rated 4.8 on Tripadvisor across more than 26,000 reviews.
For better value, Dreams Onyx is the Dreams we would book for families, and Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana gives adults the Secrets formula for roughly 40 percent less than Cap Cana. Zoëtry Agua is the quiet, wellness-led option. On Mexico's Pacific coast, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a reliable family choice near town.
Our picks are based on Tripadvisor and Kayak ratings, Kayak's 12-month price data and the patterns in guest reviews. We have not stayed at these resorts, and we found service and seaweed complaints even at the best of them.

Hyatt all inclusive resorts in 2026: the Inclusive Collection explained
Hyatt's all-inclusive business grew in three big steps. It launched Hyatt Ziva (all ages) and Hyatt Zilara (adults-only) with Playa Hotels & Resorts in 2013. It bought Apple Leisure Group in 2021, which brought the AMR Collection brands such as Secrets, Dreams, Breathless, Zoëtry and Sunscape, plus the ALG Vacations package business. And in June 2025 it completed the purchase of Playa Hotels & Resorts, adding 15 resorts, eight of which were already Hyatt Ziva or Zilara properties (Hyatt).
The result, as of Hyatt's August 2026 announcements, is an Inclusive Collection of 11 brands: Impression by Secrets, Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts, Secrets, Breathless, Dreams, Hyatt Vivid, Alua, Sunscape and Bahia Principe (Hyatt). In January 2026 Hyatt put the portfolio at more than 150 resorts and 55,000 rooms across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe (Hyatt).
Two naming quirks are worth knowing. In Hyatt's corporate structure, Impression by Secrets sits in its Luxury Portfolio and Breathless in its Lifestyle Portfolio, but both are marketed and booked as part of the Inclusive Collection. And the former Now brand has been folded into Dreams; resorts such as Dreams Onyx in Punta Cana still appear under their old Now names on some booking sites.
Inclusive Collection resorts participate in World of Hyatt (at Bahia Principe, participating hotels), so you can earn and redeem points, which is the single biggest reason to book these brands over independent all-inclusives. For how Hyatt compares with Hilton, Marriott, RIU and others, see our all-inclusive resort brands guide.

1Best overall (adults-only)
Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana

Guest ratings
Tripadvisor4.9/5 · 9,749Kayak9.3/10 · 471Booking.com9.3/10 · 158Checked Oct 2026; review counts in grey.
Our take
Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is the Hyatt all-inclusive we would book first. Its ratings are as strong as any we found for an all-inclusive: 4.9 on Tripadvisor across 9,749 reviews and 9.3 out of 10 across 471 Kayak ratings, where phrases like beautiful property, good food and nice staff recur in dozens of reviews. It sits on Juanillo beach in the gated Cap Cana community, about 6.4 miles from Punta Cana's airport, next to its family-friendly sister Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana.
Reviewers praise modern, spotless facilities, an infinity pool, the spa and staff who are professional and warm. Kayak's guest tips recommend paying for an oceanfront room. The criticisms are worth knowing: food quality is inconsistent for some guests, a few were surprised by extra food charges, the entertainment and pool hours will disappoint anyone wanting nightlife, and seaweed reaches the beach in season.
It is expensive, with Kayak averages from $648 a night in September to $1,139 in February, which makes it one of the best uses of World of Hyatt points on the chart.
Skip it if You want a lively party scene or a bargain; Breathless or Secrets Royal Beach suit those better.
Our category scores

- Top-tier ratings on Tripadvisor and Kayak
- Modern, very clean facilities and strong service

What guests say
Beautiful property, good food, nice staff.
Some reviewers found the food inconsistent, were surprised by additional food charges and said entertainment and pool hours fell short of their expectations.
Guests call the facilities modern and spotless, though a few raised beach cleanliness during seaweed season and how specific problems were handled.
2Best for families
Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana
Juanillo Beach, Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
$630–$1,275 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates, cheapest to priciest month, viewed October 2026 (October to December)

Our take
Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is the best Hyatt all-inclusive for families in our research, and one of the best-rated family resorts anywhere: 4.9 on Tripadvisor across 7,567 reviews and 8.9 out of 10 on Kayak. Kayak's review summary shows 15 reviews praising the food and the resort's design, and guests single out the water park and night shows for kids and the French restaurant for adults.
Kayak's guest tips suggest the club level is worth the extra cost for its perks, including access to the Chinola restaurant, and recommend sea-view balconies. The cautions are practical rather than serious: some guests wanted more comfortable beds and more food options for babies, Wi-Fi can be spotty by the pool, rooms were not always perfectly clean on arrival, and Cap Cana's gated setting means little within walking distance, so plan excursions through the hotel or by taxi.
At Kayak averages of $630 to $1,275 a night, this is a splurge in cash, and December holiday weeks are the most expensive. Points, or an October trip, make it far more reasonable.
Skip it if You are traveling without kids and want quiet; book Hyatt Zilara next door instead.
Our category scores

What guests say
Amazing food, very nicely designed a hotel area.
Guest tips flag a lack of food options for babies, unimpressive desserts, spotty Wi-Fi by the pool and rooms that were not always clean on arrival.
Families describe the water park as fantastic for kids, with plenty of activities and night shows.
3Best Secrets for couples
Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa
Juanillo Beach, Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
$608–$1,196 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates, cheapest to priciest month, viewed October 2026 (August to February)
Our take
Secrets Cap Cana is the Secrets resort that best delivers the brand's promise of romance with polish. It holds 4.8 bubbles across 26,187 Tripadvisor reviews, the largest review base of any resort on this page, and scores 8.8 out of 10 on Kayak. Its Kayak summary is dominated by two themes: 18 reviews calling the beach incredibly beautiful and 11 praising friendly, attentive staff.
The resort has more than a dozen restaurants and lounges spanning French, Mexican, Italian and Pan-Asian food with 24-hour options, a Pevonia spa, nightly shows in an indoor theater and movies on the beach. Upgraded suites add plunge pools. It is about six miles from the airport, in the same Cap Cana enclave as the Hyatt Zilara and Ziva.
The complaints are the seaweed, which a handful of Kayak reviewers say made the sea unswimmable on their dates, and a minority who disliked the food. At $608 to $1,196 a night on Kayak, it costs about the same as Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana; choose Secrets for more dining choice and evening programming, Zilara for a more modern, low-key feel.
Skip it if You want the lowest Secrets price; Secrets Royal Beach costs roughly 40 percent less.

Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana
Uvero Alto, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$409–$918 per night for two · KAYAK 12-month average nightly rates, September (cheapest) to February (priciest), checked October 2026
Our take
Zoëtry Agua is the Hyatt all-inclusive for people who want peace more than programming. It is a small, design-led resort in Uvero Alto, with palapa roofs, hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings in the suites, and days built around yoga, meditation, aqua spinning, cooking classes, wine tastings and water sports. It rates 4.7 on Tripadvisor across 7,358 reviews and 9.1 out of 10 across 159 Kayak ratings.
Kayak's review summary says most guests were highly satisfied with the attentive service, the peaceful location, the clean grounds and the spacious rooms, and guests name concierges by name. The criticisms are small but real: spa hot tubs and room water temperature not always working, inconsistent bar service, weak Wi-Fi, and a lack of rainy-day activities in the wet summer months. Food quality also draws mixed comments.
The main drawback is distance: it is about 24.6 miles from Punta Cana's airport, much farther than Cap Cana. Book it for a restorative week and arrange a private transfer.
Skip it if You want nightlife, a big pool scene or a short transfer.
Our category scores
Pros
- Quiet, wellness-focused atmosphere
- Attractive palapa-roofed suites
- Yoga, meditation and cooking classes

Concerns include spa hot tubs that were not hot for days, room water temperature problems, inconsistent bar service and Wi-Fi quality.
5Best family value
Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa
Uvero Alto, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$320–$622 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates, cheapest to priciest month, viewed October 2026 (September to March)
Our take
Dreams Onyx is the Dreams we would book for a family on a mid-range budget. It rates 4.6 on Tripadvisor across 13,968 reviews and 8.8 out of 10 across 765 Kayak ratings, and Kayak's summary is unusually positive: excellent, attentive service, a wide variety of good restaurants, standout pools and well-kept facilities. Ground-floor swim-out suites are a favorite, and there is a kids' club, children's pool, indoor play area, spa and casino.
The value is the point. Kayak's averages ran from $320 a night in September to $622 in March, about half of what the Cap Cana Hyatts cost, while ratings are not far behind. Some booking sites still list it as Now Onyx, its name before the Now brand was folded into Dreams.
The drawbacks: it is in Uvero Alto, about 21.7 miles from the airport; some guests say the main buffet and café fall short of the à la carte restaurants; and a few report room cleanliness issues or a rough beach. It earns its place with pools, food and service at a fair price, not with the beach.
Skip it if A short airport transfer or a pristine swimming beach is your top priority.
Our category scores
Pros
- Strong service and restaurant ratings
- Swim-out ground-floor suites
- Good kids' facilities
- About half the price of the Cap Cana Hyatts
Cons
- About 22 miles from the airport
- Buffet and café weaker than the à la carte restaurants
- Beach conditions vary
- Former name
- Now Onyx Punta Cana
- Airport
- About 21.7 miles from Punta Cana International (Kayak)
- Kids
- Kids' club, children's pool, indoor play area
- Extras
- Spa and on-site casino
What guests say
Guests consistently highlight excellent service, friendly staff, the variety and quality of the restaurants, and pools they call a standout feature.
Some guests say the main café and buffet could be better, and a few mention problems with room or bathroom cleanliness and beach conditions.
6Best-value Secrets
Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
$380–$656 per night for two · KAYAK 12-month average nightly rates, September (cheapest) to January (priciest), checked October 2026
Our take
Secrets Royal Beach is how we would get the Secrets experience without Cap Cana prices. Kayak's averages ran from $380 a night in September to $656 in January, roughly 40 percent below Secrets Cap Cana, and it scores 4.6 on Tripadvisor across 23,761 reviews and 8.7 out of 10 on Kayak. It sits on the busy Bávaro beach, about 8.4 miles from the airport.
Food is the strength. Kayak's review summary says guests consistently praise the quality and variety of the restaurants, and the beachside grill is a favorite. The quiet pool is popular too; arrive early for a bed.
Service is where it falls behind the Cap Cana resorts. Reviewers report delays and inattentive staff alongside friendly ones, uneven room upkeep (with ground-floor rooms singled out for musty smells and bugs), weak in-room Wi-Fi and some timeshare hard sells. Beach vendors are present but back off when declined. Evenings can be lively, with poolside drinking competitions. Book it for food and value; skip it if you want a hushed romantic hideaway.
Skip it if You want flawless service and a quiet, exclusive feel; pay up for Secrets Cap Cana or Zoëtry.
Our category scores
Pros
- Secrets brand at a much lower price
- Restaurants praised for quality and variety
- Long Bávaro beach
- Quiet pool for daytime relaxing
Cons
- Inconsistent service

7Best on the Pacific coast
Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico
$410–$711 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates (cheapest September, priciest December), seen Oct 2026
Our take
Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is our pick for a Hyatt all-inclusive on Mexico's Pacific coast, especially for families flying from the western US. It rates 4.5 on Tripadvisor across 15,767 reviews and 8.4 out of 10 across 551 Kayak ratings, and Kayak's review summary is dominated by staff: 80 reviews call the staff friendly and amazing, and 54 mention a great location with good food and drink. Guests like the private beach, the international restaurants (Blaze, Pureza, Melanzane and the Vivaz buffet), a 24-hour deli and the KidZ Club.
The resort is about 6.7 miles from Puerto Vallarta's airport and close to the Los Muertos area, so getting into town is easy. Kayak's averages ran from $410 a night in September to $711 in December, cheaper than the Cap Cana Hyatts.
The complaints are about the building more than the people: 14 reviews describe a smelly room, others mention noisy air conditioning, maintenance issues and construction noise, and some wanted more dinner choice and a better premium bar. Ask for a quiet, recently refreshed room. It suits families who want a calm, friendly resort, not a party.
Skip it if You want a party atmosphere or brand-new rooms.
Our category scores
Pros
- Exceptionally friendly staff in reviews
- Good restaurants and a 24-hour deli
- Easy access to Puerto Vallarta town
- Lower prices than Caribbean Ziva resorts
Cons
- Room odor and maintenance complaints
- Construction and air-conditioning noise reported
- Limited premium bar choice
- Airport
- About 6.7 miles from Puerto Vallarta International (Kayak)
- Dining
- Blaze, Pureza, Melanzane, Vivaz buffet and a 24-hour deli

What guests say
Great location, great staff, good food and drink.
Room was a little smelly.
Guests praise the buffet and spa but advise asking about construction and requesting a quiet room to avoid event and air-conditioning noise.
8Best adults-only on the Pacific
Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta
Marina Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
$460–$794 per night for two · Kayak 12-month average nightly rates (cheapest May, priciest February), seen Oct 2026
Our take
Secrets Vallarta Bay is the adults-only Hyatt we would pick in Puerto Vallarta, mainly for its people. It rates 4.6 on Tripadvisor across 12,847 reviews and 8.6 out of 10 across 288 Kayak ratings, and the most common phrase in its Kayak review summary, in 19 reviews, is that the staff were amazing with great service; several reviews name individual managers in the Preferred tower, and others praise the drinks and pool areas.
It is close to the airport, about 3.6 miles away, which makes it easy for a long weekend from the western US. Unusually, its cheapest month in Kayak's data was May ($460 average), with February the most expensive ($794).
The drawbacks: a couple of reviewers noted there are fewer restaurants than at bigger competitors, one disliked the bed, furniture and towels, and another mentioned an odor by the swim-up bar. Bay beaches on this stretch are calmer and less dramatic than the Caribbean's. Choose it for service and convenience; if the beach is the priority, Secrets Cap Cana is the better bet.
Skip it if A spectacular beach is your top priority.
Our category scores
Pros
- Highly praised staff and service
- Short transfer from Puerto Vallarta airport
- Good drinks and pool areas
Cons
- Fewer restaurants than larger rivals
- Some room furnishing complaints

9Best Hyatt pick in Jamaica
Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay
Montego Bay, Jamaica
Our take
Secrets Wild Orchid is the Hyatt all-inclusive we would choose in Jamaica, with clear caveats. It scores 7.7 out of 10 across 395 Kayak ratings, a step below the Dominican Hyatts, but its review summary is strongly positive on the basics: 33 reviews say the staff and the food were excellent, and 12 say everything exceeded expectations. Rooms come with balconies, whirlpool tubs and British Colonial decor, there are seven restaurants serving Jamaican, French, Mexican, Pan-Asian and seafood, and Preferred Club guests praise the club pool staff. It is only about 3.9 miles from Montego Bay's airport.
The recurring problems are maintenance and upselling. Kayak's guest tips mention musty smells in some rooms, mosquitoes, room service delays and an entertainment schedule that does not always run as planned. A few reviewers were pitched a membership program during their stay, and three noted that only one specialty restaurant was open on some days.
It suits an easy, adults-only Jamaica trip close to the airport. If ratings matter most, Cap Cana's Hyatts are a clear step up.
Skip it if You want the highest-rated Hyatt experience; fly to Punta Cana instead.

- Staff and food praised in many reviews

Secrets, Dreams, Breathless, Ziva and the other Hyatt brands compared
The brand name tells you three things: whether kids are allowed, how lively the resort is, and roughly what you will pay. Here is how we read each one, with price evidence from Kayak's 12-month averages and Tripadvisor partner rates where we have it.
Adults-only brands
- Impression by Secrets is the top of the ladder: small resorts with butler-style personal service, positioned above Secrets. Locations include Isla Mujeres and Playa del Carmen (Moxché).
- Hyatt Zilara is Hyatt's own adults-only brand, often paired with a Ziva next door, as in Cap Cana and Rose Hall. Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana averaged $648 to $1,139 a night on Kayak.
- Secrets is the core romance brand and the biggest adults-only line, with resorts across Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Aruba and St. Lucia. Prices span a wide range: Secrets Royal Beach averaged $380 to $656, Secrets Cap Cana $608 to $1,196.
- Breathless is the social, livelier adults-only brand, built for travelers who want a party atmosphere rather than quiet romance.
- Hyatt Vivid is the newest adults-only concept, which Hyatt describes as socially inspired and flexible, with wellness and local culture built in. Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana opened on August 31, 2026 with 467 rooms.
Family and all-ages brands
- Hyatt Ziva is the premium family brand, with water parks and big entertainment programs.
- Dreams is the mid-range family brand and the easiest to find on sale; Dreams Onyx averaged $320 to $622 on Kayak.
- Sunscape is the value family brand; Sunscape Cancun showed partner rates from about $228 a night on Tripadvisor.
- Bahia Principe joined World of Hyatt on March 25, 2026 and now splits into Escape (adults-only) and Explore (families), with about 12,000 rooms across more than 20 hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Spain (Hyatt).
Wellness and Europe
- Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts are small, quiet and spa-led; Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana averaged $409 to $918.
- Alua is Hyatt's European all-inclusive brand, in places such as Spain's Canary Islands and Bulgaria's Sunny Beach.
What changed at Hyatt's all-inclusives in 2025 and 2026
Hyatt's all-inclusive lineup changed more in the past 18 months than in any period since the 2021 Apple Leisure Group deal. The headline moves, all from Hyatt's newsroom:
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| June 2025 | Playa Hotels & Resorts acquisition completed: Secrets La Romana, Dreams La Romana, Dreams Rose Hall, Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen and Sunscape Cancun join |
| June 2025 | Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa and Secrets Baby Beach Aruba open |
| Aug-Sep 2025 | Secrets Playa Esmeralda and Dreams Playa Esmeralda debut in the Dominican Republic |
| Nov 2025 | Secrets Mirabel Cancun opens in the Hotel Zone, about eight miles from the airport, with eight restaurants |
| Jan 2026 | Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa reopens after a full renovation |
| Mar 2026 | Bahia Principe joins World of Hyatt and relaunches as Escape and Explore |
| May 2026 | Hyatt Zilara Cancun debuts a complete renovation of all 310 suites |
| May 20, 2026 | New five-tier World of Hyatt award chart takes effect |
| Aug 2026 | Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana opens on Cabeza de Toro, adults-only, 467 rooms |
In the pipeline: Hyatt announced plans for a Secrets resort at Macao Beach in Punta Cana (September 2025) and a 650-room Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana, with an adults-only building, expected in 2029.
What this means for you: newly renovated resorts such as Hyatt Zilara Cancun and Secrets Playa Mujeres will carry older reviews for a while, so read only 2026 reviews when judging them. Brand-new openings often run introductory rates, but also first-year service hiccups.
World of Hyatt points at all-inclusive resorts: the 2026 award chart
Hyatt prices all-inclusive award nights on its own chart, in six categories (A to F) and, since May 20, 2026, five date-based tiers. Prices are per night for double occupancy, so one award covers two adults' room, food and drinks (Milesopedia).
| Category | Lowest | Low | Moderate | Upper | Top |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 12,000 | 15,000 | 20,000 | 22,500 | 25,000 |
| B | 15,000 | 20,000 | 25,000 | 30,000 | 35,000 |
| C | 20,000 | 25,000 | 30,000 | 35,000 | 40,000 |
| D | 25,000 | 30,000 | 35,000 | 45,000 | 55,000 |
| E | 35,000 | 45,000 | 55,000 | 65,000 | 75,000 |
| F | 45,000 | 55,000 | 65,000 | 75,000 | 85,000 |
The top of Category F rose from a previous peak of 58,000 points to 85,000, about 47 percent more, according to Prince of Travel. Bookings made before 9 a.m. Eastern on May 20, 2026 kept the old prices.
How to get good value
- Target Lowest and Low dates. The new top tier hurts most at peak; shoulder-season awards stayed close to the old prices.
- Do the math against cash. Divide the cash rate for two by the points price. A night that costs $700 cash or 35,000 points returns 2 cents per point, which is a good redemption by most valuations.
- Use points at the high end, cash at the low end. Budget brands like Sunscape and Bahia Principe often price low in cash, so points go further at Zilara, Secrets and Zoëtry resorts.
- Earn on paid stays. Members earn 5 base points per eligible dollar, and World of Hyatt credit card holders can earn up to 9 points per dollar at Hyatt properties, per Hyatt.

The best Hyatt all-inclusive resorts by destination
Punta Cana and Cap Cana
The Dominican Republic is Hyatt's biggest all-inclusive market, with about 30 Inclusive Collection resorts and more than 16,000 rooms per Hyatt. Cap Cana, a gated resort community south of Punta Cana's airport, has the strongest cluster: Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva and Secrets Cap Cana, all about six miles from the airport and rated 4.8 to 4.9 on Tripadvisor. Uvero Alto, 20 to 25 miles north, has Dreams Onyx and Zoëtry Agua in a quieter setting.
Cancun and the Riviera Maya
Cancun has the brand's most varied lineup. On Tripadvisor in October 2026, Hyatt Ziva Cancun scored 4.6 across 15,086 reviews and Hyatt Zilara Cancun, just renovated, scored 4.7 across 15,075. South along the Riviera Maya, Secrets Maroma Beach held 4.8 across 26,023 reviews and Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen 4.6 across 24,513. New in the Hotel Zone is Secrets Mirabel Cancun (November 2025), and off the coast, Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets is the brand's most exclusive Mexican Caribbean option. See our Cancun guide.
Jamaica
Montego Bay has Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, Breathless Montego Bay, Secrets Wild Orchid and St. James, and Zoëtry Montego Bay. Ratings are a step below Cap Cana: Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall showed 4.4 on Tripadvisor and Breathless Montego Bay 4.3.
Mexico's Pacific coast
Puerto Vallarta's Hyatt Ziva and Secrets Vallarta Bay are solid, slightly cheaper alternatives to the Caribbean, and Los Cabos has Dreams, Secrets and Breathless resorts for travelers from the western US.

Booking Hyatt all-inclusives: direct, Apple Vacations or a package?
Hyatt owns more of the booking chain than any other all-inclusive brand. Its subsidiaries include ALG Vacations (the business behind Apple Vacations and other package brands), Unlimited Vacation Club and the Amstar destination-management company that runs many airport transfers (Hyatt).
- Book direct on Hyatt if you want points, elite-night credit or to redeem an award. Direct bookings are also simplest to change.
- Price Apple Vacations or another ALG Vacations brand if you need flights. Their sales often stack extra savings at Inclusive Collection resorts; ALG's 2025 Black Friday early-access sale advertised up to $900 in total savings, including up to $500 in instant savings at Hyatt's Inclusive Collection (TravelPulse).
- Watch the World of Hyatt Cyber Sale. In 2025 it offered up to 30 percent off at more than 750 participating hotels in the Americas for stays through April 30, 2026 (Hyatt).
Package and online-travel-agency bookings generally do not earn hotel points or elite credit, so compare the package saving with the points you would give up.

Mistakes to avoid at Hyatt all-inclusives
- Assuming Secrets means quiet. Secrets is adults-only, but some resorts run lively pool programs; Kayak tips for Secrets Royal Beach mention poolside drinking competitions at night. Pick Zoëtry or Impression for real calm.
- Ignoring the transfer time. Cap Cana is about six miles from Punta Cana's airport; Uvero Alto resorts such as Zoëtry Agua and Dreams Onyx are more than 20 miles away.
- Buying the club upgrade by default. Preferred Club and similar tiers get mixed reviews: some guests love the quieter areas and extra restaurants, others say they were not worth it. Decide based on what the specific resort's club includes.
- Saying yes to the sales presentation. Kayak reviewers at Secrets Wild Orchid mention a pitch to join a Secrets membership program, and Kayak tips for Secrets Royal Beach warn about timeshare hard sells. Decline politely if you are not interested.
- Forgetting the seaweed. Seaweed appears in reviews at nearly every Caribbean resort on this page in summer and fall; Secrets Cap Cana's Kayak cons include beach complaints about seaweed.
- Using points at the cheap brands. Sunscape and Bahia Principe cash rates are often low enough that paying cash and saving points for Zilara or Secrets gets you more value.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
Forum regulars treat Hyatt's all-inclusives as a reliable middle-to-upper tier, with the usual all-inclusive caveats. In Tripadvisor's Punta Cana forum, travelers heading to Secrets resorts weigh the package's included shared transfer against a private upgrade, and found the package seller's upgrade competitively priced and reliable when flights run late; one noted that package rates were better value for Secrets resorts than booking pieces separately. Across forums and review summaries, the consistent advice is to judge each Secrets or Dreams individually rather than by brand, because service, food and maintenance vary more between properties than the brand name suggests, and to expect seaweed in summer and fall wherever you go. Tipping threads agree that small daily cash tips are appreciated even where gratuities are included. This summary draws on Tripadvisor forum threads from September and October 2026.
A traveler bound for a Secrets resort found the package's private-transfer upgrade competitively priced, and noted package rates were better value for Secrets resorts than booking separately.
Cancun regulars say daily cash tips, preferably in pesos, are standard at all-inclusives and appreciated by staff, even though tips are included in the price.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What are Hyatt's all-inclusive brands?
Hyatt's Inclusive Collection has 11 brands: Impression by Secrets, Hyatt Zilara, Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts, Secrets, Breathless and Hyatt Vivid on the adults-focused side; Hyatt Ziva, Dreams and Sunscape for families; Alua in Europe; and Bahia Principe, which joined World of Hyatt in March 2026 and splits into adults-only Escape and family Explore resorts. Together they cover more than 150 resorts, mostly in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, plus Spain and Bulgaria.
What is the best Hyatt all-inclusive resort?
Based on ratings and reviews, Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is the best for adults, with 4.9 on Tripadvisor across 9,749 reviews and 9.3 out of 10 on Kayak. Its sister Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is the best for families, and Secrets Cap Cana holds 4.8 across more than 26,000 Tripadvisor reviews. In Mexico, Secrets Maroma Beach (4.8) and the newly renovated Hyatt Zilara Cancun (4.7) are the strongest Riviera Maya and Cancun options on Tripadvisor.
Are Secrets resorts adults-only?
Yes. Every Secrets resort is adults-only, as are Impression by Secrets, Hyatt Zilara, Breathless and Hyatt Vivid. The difference is atmosphere: Secrets is the romance-focused brand, Breathless is livelier and more social, Impression adds butler-style service, and Zilara is Hyatt's own polished adults-only line. Some Secrets resorts are paired with a family-friendly Dreams next door, so check whether shared areas or neighbors matter to you.
How many World of Hyatt points is an all-inclusive night?
Under the chart that took effect May 20, 2026, all-inclusive award nights cost 12,000 to 85,000 points per night for two adults, depending on the resort's category (A to F) and the date's pricing tier (Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper or Top). Category A runs 12,000 to 25,000 points and Category F 45,000 to 85,000. The award covers your room, meals and drinks, which is why all-inclusives are among the best uses of Hyatt points when you book Lowest or Low dates.
What is the difference between Dreams and Secrets?
Dreams resorts welcome families and children, with kids' clubs, water features and family entertainment, while Secrets resorts are adults-only and focus on romance, dining and quieter pools. Pricing overlaps, but Dreams usually costs less: on Kayak, Dreams Onyx averaged $320 to $622 a night across the year, while Secrets Royal Beach averaged $380 to $656 and Secrets Cap Cana $608 to $1,196. Several destinations have a Dreams and a Secrets side by side.
Is Sunscape part of Hyatt?
Yes. Sunscape Resorts & Spas is Hyatt's value family brand within the Inclusive Collection, and Sunscape stays earn and redeem World of Hyatt points. Sunscape Cancun, formerly Panama Jack Resorts Cancun, joined Hyatt's system through the 2025 Playa Hotels acquisition and scored 4.4 on Tripadvisor across 18,264 reviews in October 2026. Because Sunscape cash rates are relatively low, many members pay cash there and save points for pricier brands.
When is the cheapest time to book a Hyatt all-inclusive?
September and October. In Kayak's 12-month data, most Hyatt all-inclusives we checked in Punta Cana and Puerto Vallarta had their lowest average nightly rates in August, September or October, roughly 40 to 55 percent below February or December. Hyatt's Cyber Sale, which in 2025 ran from mid-November to December 11 with up to 30 percent off at participating properties, is the best time to book winter and spring stays. Secrets Vallarta Bay was an exception, cheapest in May.
