Quick answer
- Does Hawaii have all-inclusive resorts? No. As of October 2026 we found no Hawaii resort that includes all meals and drinks in its rate. The closest all-inclusive-style option is Norwegian's Pride of America, a 7-day round-trip cruise from Honolulu to four islands with meals included.
- Food is the hidden cost: Hawaii's visitors averaged $62.56 per person per day on food and drink in January to August 2026, and $283 per person per day in total, according to the state's DBEDT.
- Best adults-only: Hotel Wailea on Maui (18+, Tripadvisor 4.8/5; a $1,000 food and beverage credit on 7-night stays) and Sensei Lanai, Four Seasons' adults-only wellness resort (4.6/5).
- Best for families: Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa on Oahu (Tripadvisor 4.2/5, about $665 to $2,108 a night before taxes) and Koloa Landing on Kauai (Tripadvisor 4.6/5). Neither is all-inclusive, and every meal at Aulani is extra.
- Hana-Maui Resort does not sell an all-inclusive package in 2026; its packages add daily breakfast, spa treatments or a $100 dining credit with a flight into Hana.
- Best months: April, May, September and October for lower prices and crowds. Storm risk peaks in late summer and fall; Hurricane Lala caused flooding, landslides and outages in August 2026, per the state.
Our verdict
Our verdict: skip the all-inclusive search and buy the right food package
Hawaii and all-inclusive simply do not go together in 2026. Land, labor and imported food are expensive, and the islands' best meals are at food trucks, poke counters and farm restaurants that no package could include. Rather than chase a label, pick the resort that fits your trip and the package that cuts your food bill.
For couples, Hotel Wailea is our top pick: adults only, the best-rated resort on this page, and its 7-night offer adds a $1,000 food and beverage credit. Sensei Lanai is the wellness splurge, with many classes included. Families should book Aulani on Oahu for the Disney extras, Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui for suites, villas and a 140-foot waterslide, or Koloa Landing on Kauai for big villas and an award-winning pool, and budget for meals. Hana-Maui Resort suits travelers who want remote, old Hawaii and are happy with breakfast included. And if you truly want meals prepaid while seeing several islands, the Pride of America cruise is the only real all-inclusive-style product in Hawaii. These picks are based on published offers, Tripadvisor ratings and review patterns, and Hawaii state spending data as of October 2026.

Does Hawaii have all-inclusive resorts?
No, not in the sense most travelers mean. As of October 2026 we found no resort in Hawaii that includes all meals, drinks and activities in one nightly rate. Hawaii-guide.com's 2026 roundup reaches the same conclusion, saying the islands have almost no true all-inclusive resorts, and Go Visit Hawaii listed only Lanai's Sensei retreat as one in its 2022 update. None of the big all-inclusive brands (Sandals, Beaches, Club Med, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Royalton, Riu) operates in the islands, and the 'Hawaii all-inclusive packages' you see advertised are almost always flight-plus-hotel bundles or rooms with a breakfast or dining credit.
Why? The same forces that limit all-inclusives across the USA are stronger here: very expensive land, high wages, and food that is largely shipped in. Hawaii's visitors also spend their days on beaches, hikes and road trips rather than at the resort, so a meal plan would mostly go unused.
What you can do instead:
- Book a food-credit or breakfast package at the resort you like (Hotel Wailea, Halekulani, Hana-Maui and Koloa Landing all sell them).
- Choose a suite or villa with a kitchen and stock up at a supermarket; Fairmont Kea Lani's villas have kitchens, and Koloa Landing's villas are condo-style.
- Take the Pride of America cruise, the one product in Hawaii that bundles lodging and meals while you travel between islands.
- Go elsewhere for a true all-inclusive: Mexico's Pacific coast is the closest real all-inclusive destination to the West Coast.

Our take
Hotel Wailea is the best answer we found to 'adults-only all-inclusive Hawaii', even though it is not all-inclusive. Guests must be 18 or older, there are just 72 suites on 15 acres in Wailea, and it describes itself as Hawaii's only adults-only Relais & Châteaux hotel, with The Restaurant, The Birdcage Japanese grill and chef's-table experiences including a treehouse. The way to get close to all-inclusive is the offers page. Booking direct on the Insider Rate adds 10% off, a $100 food and beverage credit per stay and complimentary valet, and stays of seven nights or more get 10% off plus a $1,000 food and beverage credit, which covers a good share of dinners for two. Credits work at The Restaurant, The Birdcage and the cabanas, not in-room dining or the chef's tables. Tripadvisor rates it 4.8 out of 5 from 2,104 reviews, the highest of any resort on this page. The trade-off is the beach: the hotel sits inland of the Wailea shoreline rather than on the sand, so plan on a short trip down to the beaches. Book it for a honeymoon or anniversary week. Skip it if you want to walk out of your room onto the beach.
Skip it if You want beachfront rooms, kids along, or every meal prepaid.

2Best wellness splurge (adults only)
Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort
Lanai City, Lanai
$986–$1,694 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average for a standard room, per night before taxes and fees, checked October 2026
Our take
Sensei Lanai is the closest Hawaii comes to the wellness all-inclusives of Arizona, minus the all-inclusive pricing. The former Lodge at Koele reopened in November 2019 as Four Seasons' first adults-only wellness resort, with 92 rooms and 4 suites in Lanai's cool upcountry, and its draw is the program: reviewers describe yoga, fitness, meditation and forest-bathing classes, plus garden, ranch and art tours, as complimentary, along with airport transfers, parking and a shuttle to the beach at the sister Four Seasons Resort Lanai. Spa hale time and massages cost extra, and Tripadvisor's listing does not make clear whether meals are included, so assume they are not unless your package says so; Go Visit Hawaii's 2022 update still described a Sensei retreat package as Hawaii's one all-inclusive, so ask what the current packages include. Tripadvisor rates it 4.6 out of 5 from 198 reviews with a 2026 Travelers' Choice award, and Tripadvisor's booking partners show average standard-room rates of about $986 to $1,694 a night before taxes. Recurring criticisms are uneven service, long shuttle waits at meal times and food that does not always match the price. Book it for a reset week if you want classes, quiet and privacy. Skip it if you want a beach out front or nightlife; Lanai has very little of either.
Skip it if You want beachfront, nightlife or meals included by default.
Our category scores

What guests say
Sensei is a very special place it’s like heaven on earth
The miso cod at the restaurant was extremely fishy tasting and not fresh.
Reviewers love the grounds, art and complimentary wellness classes but mention slow in-room requests, communication problems and long shuttle waits at meal times.

3Best for families on Oahu (not all-inclusive)
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa
Ko Olina, Oahu
$665–$2,108 per night for two · Tripadvisor partner average for a standard room, per night before taxes and fees, room only, checked October 2026
Our take
Aulani is the resort families most often hope is all-inclusive, and it is not: room rates cover the room, pools and kids' programming, while every meal is extra. Disney opened it on August 29, 2011, on 21 acres at Ko Olina on Oahu's leeward coast, with 351 hotel rooms and 481 Disney Vacation Club villas (Tripadvisor counts 819 units). The appeal is obvious: a calm lagoon beach, big pools, Hawaiian cultural activities and Disney characters, all an easy drive from Honolulu's airport and Pearl Harbor. The catch is cost. Tripadvisor partners show average standard-room rates of about $665 to $2,108 a night before taxes, and reviewers repeatedly say prices are not justified by dated rooms, crowded pools and inconsistent service; housekeeping is not daily. It still earns 4.2 out of 5 from 7,291 Tripadvisor reviews and a 2026 Travelers' Choice award because kids love it. Book a villa with a kitchen if you can, eat some meals off-site at Ko Olina's other restaurants and shops, and treat character dining as a splurge. Skip it if you want food included or a quiet couples' trip.
Skip it if You want prepaid meals, value for money or a quiet couples' stay.

4Best Maui family resort (not all-inclusive)
Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui
Wailea, Maui
$437–$996 per night for two · Kayak, 2 adults, per-night rate for Oct 26–28, 2026 dates, including taxes and fees; checked October 2026
Our take
Fairmont Kea Lani is our Maui pick for families, and it is the best resort in this guide for controlling food costs yourself. It is an all-suite and villa resort on 22 acres along Polo Beach in Wailea, so even the entry rooms are one-bedroom suites, and the two- and three-bedroom oceanfront villas have full kitchens. For kids there are two family pools linked by a 140-foot waterslide, a keiki splash pool and a keiki dining program at several restaurants; for parents there is an adults-only serenity pool with its own hot tub. Dining runs from Kō, inspired by Maui's plantation heritage, to Pilina and the open-air Kea Lani Restaurant with a daily breakfast buffet. Meals are not included, and pool and beach benefits are bundled into a resort fee. Tripadvisor rates it 4.6 out of 5 from 6,348 reviews. Book a villa for a multigenerational week and cook breakfasts and lunches. Skip it if you want food included or an adults-only atmosphere; Hotel Wailea is less than a mile away for that.
Skip it if You want meals included or a quiet adults-only resort.
Our category scores
Pros
- All suites and villas, with kitchens in the villas
- Direct access to Polo Beach
- 140-foot waterslide, keiki pool and adults-only pool

Cons
- Not all-inclusive; resort fee on top
- Wailea dining is expensive
- Busy pools in school holidays

- 22 acres on Polo Beach, Wailea
- Rooms
- All suites (one-bedroom) and 2- and 3-bedroom villas with kitchens
- Pools
- Two family pools with 140-ft waterslide, keiki splash pool, adults-only serenity pool

What guests say
Every aspect of the visit from check in to check out was excellent. True hospitality.
Older Kayak reviews praise the staff, grounds and breakfast buffet but complain that every restaurant is very pricey and, in one case, about maintenance faults in the room.

5Best Honolulu luxury (breakfast packages, no resort fee)
Halekulani
Waikiki, Honolulu, Oahu
Our take
Halekulani is our answer to 'Honolulu all-inclusive resorts': there are none, so book the best hotel in Waikiki and use its packages. It sits on the beach at 2199 Kalia Road with views of Diamond Head and has been welcoming guests for more than a century. Dining is the point here, with La Mer, Orchids, House Without a Key, UMI by Vikram Garg, Lewers Lounge and a bakery, and Waikiki puts many more restaurants within walking distance. The hotel sells a Sunrise Breakfast Package, a Summer Suite Promotion with daily breakfast and a lomi lomi massage, family packages, and a $200 resort credit on stays of three nights or more in select rooms. It also promises no resort fee surprises, which is rarer than it should be in Waikiki. Tripadvisor rates it 4.6 out of 5 from 3,904 reviews. Book a breakfast package and eat lunch and dinner around Waikiki. Skip it if you want a self-contained resort with water slides; the vibe is refined rather than family-fun.
Skip it if You want a quiet resort or water-park pools.
Our category scores

- Beachfront in Waikiki with Diamond Head views
- Excellent restaurants, including La Mer and Orchids
- Breakfast packages and a $200 credit on 3+ nights

What guests say
Kayak's summary of 1,622 reviews says guests frequently praise the staff, the Waikiki location and the atmosphere; 1,289 of the ratings are 'Wonderful'.
The same summary notes some complaints about service and restaurant quality, plus high prices, noise from delivery trucks and other guests, and crowded areas.

6Best Kauai family resort (not all-inclusive)
Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection
Poipu, Kauai
$216–$849 per night for two · Kayak, 2 adults, per-night rate for Oct 26–28, 2026 dates, including taxes and fees; checked October 2026
Our take
Koloa Landing is our pick for 'Kauai all-inclusive resorts', with the usual caveat that nothing on Kauai is all-inclusive. What it offers instead is space: deluxe studios and one- to three-bedroom villas of up to 2,600 square feet with condo-style features, plus a 3,600-square-foot penthouse, on 25 acres on the sunny south shore in Poipu. The centerpiece is a three-level, 350,000-gallon pool complex that the resort says USA Today readers named the best hotel pool in America six years running. Offers rather than packages are how you save: the Winter Escape gives 20% off and a $100 resort credit on stays of five nights or more in a deluxe studio or villa, and a Grand Getaways rate takes 10% off villas. Tripadvisor rates it 4.6 out of 5 from 4,901 reviews and ranks it first for value on Kauai. You will want a car to explore Kauai. Book a villa for a family week and cook some meals. Skip it if you want oceanfront rooms or included dining.
Skip it if You want beachfront rooms or meals included.
Our category scores
Pros
- Large villas suited to families and groups

7Best remote Maui (breakfast and credit packages)
Hana-Maui Resort, a Destination by Hyatt
Hana, East Maui
$372–$1,260 per night for two · Kayak, 2 adults, per-night rate for Oct 26–28, 2026 dates, including taxes and fees; checked October 2026
Our take
Hana-Maui Resort is the name that comes up most for 'Hawaii all-inclusive packages', and the honest answer in 2026 is that it does not sell one. It is a Destination by Hyatt resort in the small town of Hana on Maui's remote east coast, 4 miles from Hana's commuter airport and 51 miles from Kahului via the winding Road to Hana. Its packages add daily breakfast (Sunshine on Sale, with up to 30% off four nights or more), breakfast plus two spa treatments (The Spa Package), or a flight into Hana with $100 dining and $100 spa credits (Plane to Paradise). There is also a $45 nightly resort fee. Most rooms deliberately have no TV. Because Hana has only a few places to eat, you will take most dinners at the resort, so price meals in from the start. Tripadvisor rates it 4.3 out of 5 from 2,418 reviews. Note that Tropical Storm Moke brought heavy rain to East Maui in late August 2026, so check road conditions on the Hana Highway before driving. Book it for two or three nights of old Hawaii as part of a longer Maui trip. Skip it if you want beaches and nightlife on your doorstep.
Skip it if You want a beach resort scene or easy access to restaurants.
Our category scores
Pros
- Remote, quiet old-Hawaii setting
- Packages with daily breakfast or dining and spa credits
- Fly-in options that avoid the long drive
- No TVs in most rooms, by design
Cons
- Not all-inclusive; few restaurants nearby
- $45 nightly resort fee
- Long, winding drive from Kahului
- Location
- Hana, East Maui; Hana Airport (HNM) 4 miles, Kahului (OGG) 51 miles

What guests say
Kayak's summary of 479 reviews says guests praise the ocean views and setting, the pool and outdoor areas, and the spacious, comfortable rooms.
Recurring complaints concern service (staff attitude, slow responses and booking issues), along with reports of dated rooms and minor maintenance and cleanliness problems.

Pros & cons
Hawaii for an all-inclusive-style vacation: why go, why not
Reasons to go
- No passport needed, and nonstop flights from many U.S. cities
- Excellent resorts with food-credit, breakfast and spa packages
- Year-round warm weather, with highs of about 80 to 89 °F in Honolulu
- Outstanding local food at modest prices off-resort
- Inter-island cruise option with meals included
Reasons to think twice
- No true all-inclusive resorts at all
- Food is expensive: visitors average $62.56 per person per day on food and drink
- Resort fees are common (for example $45 a night at Hana-Maui)
- Long flights from the East Coast
- Storm risk in late summer, as Hurricane Lala showed in August 2026
What food really costs in Hawaii (and why it matters more than an all-inclusive)
Hawaii's tourism department publishes what visitors actually spend. In the first eight months of 2026, the average visitor arriving by air spent $283.25 per person per day, of which:
| Category (per person per day, Jan–Aug 2026) | Amount |
|---|---|
| Lodging | $127.98 |
| Total food and beverage | $62.56 |
| Restaurant food | $42.69 |
| Groceries and snacks | $13.36 |
| Dinner shows and cruises | $6.50 |
| Rental cars | $20.75 |
| Entertainment and recreation | $25.42 |
Source: Hawaii DBEDT, spending by category, August 2026 release.
That food average includes visitors who cook in condos and stay with friends. A couple eating breakfast and dinner at Wailea or Waikiki resort restaurants, with a couple of drinks, will typically spend much more, often $200 to $350 a day by our estimate. The U.S. East visitors who make up much of this site's audience also spend more overall: $314 per person per day in January to August 2026, versus $277 for U.S. West visitors (August 2026 press release).
Reading the nightly prices on this page
The room prices on the resort cards come from two kinds of listing, so compare them with care. Hotel Wailea, Fairmont Kea Lani, Koloa Landing and Hana-Maui Resort show the per-night rates Kayak listed for two adults for October 26–28, 2026 dates, with taxes and fees included. Aulani and Sensei Lanai show the average standard-room rates Tripadvisor's booking partners displayed in October 2026, before taxes, so their final bills will be higher than the figures suggest. None of these prices include meals.
How to cut the bill
- Book breakfast-included or food-credit packages.
- Use the kitchen in a villa or suite for breakfasts and lunches.
- Eat lunch at plate-lunch counters, poke shops and food trucks, and save resort dining for dinners that matter.
- At Disney's Aulani, look at the in-room or casual options; character meals are a splurge.

Maui all-inclusive resorts: none, but Wailea is where food-credit packages and all-suite resorts cluster. Honolulu and Oahu: none; Aulani sits on the leeward coast west of Honolulu's airport, while Waikiki hotels put dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Kauai: none; the sunny south shore at Poipu is our pick for families, and the north shore around Princeville is wetter.
The closest thing to an all-inclusive in Hawaii: the Pride of America cruise
If what you really want is one price that covers your bed and most of your meals, look at Norwegian Cruise Line's Pride of America. It sails year-round on seven-day round trips from Honolulu, visiting four islands and five ports in seven days with two overnight stays and no sea days, and it is the only U.S.-flagged cruise ship in Hawaii. Meals in the included restaurants are part of the fare; specialty restaurants, drinks packages, tips and shore excursions cost extra.
It suits travelers who want to see Maui, the Big Island and Kauai in one week without packing and unpacking or booking inter-island flights. It does not suit travelers who want long, lazy beach days, since much of each day is spent on excursions or in port. Many people combine it with a few nights at a resort on Oahu before or after.

Hawaii all-inclusive resorts for adults only: what exists
There is no adults-only all-inclusive in Hawaii, but there are two excellent adults-only resorts:
- Hotel Wailea, Maui: guests must be 18 or older, there are 72 suites on 15 acres, and it calls itself Hawaii's only adults-only Relais & Châteaux hotel. Its direct-booking Insider Rate adds a $100 food and beverage credit per stay, and stays of seven nights or more get 10% off plus a $1,000 food and beverage credit (offers).
- Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort: reopened in November 2019 as Four Seasons' first adults-only wellness resort, with 92 rooms and 4 suites. Reviewers describe many wellness classes and tours as complimentary; spa time and massages cost extra.
For couples who want an all-inclusive with drinks, our couples and honeymoon guide and adults-only guide cover Mexico and the Caribbean.
Hawaii for families: Aulani and the best family resorts (none all-inclusive)
Is Aulani all-inclusive? No. Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa at Ko Olina on Oahu opened in August 2011 with 351 hotel rooms and 481 Disney Vacation Club villas on 21 acres. Room rates do not include meals, and Tripadvisor partners show average standard-room rates of about $665 to $2,108 a night before taxes. Reviewers love the pools, beach and cultural activities but repeatedly call it expensive for what you get, so budget seriously for food.
Other strong family options:
- Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui: an all-suite and villa resort on 22 acres along Polo Beach in Wailea, with two family pools linked by a 140-foot waterslide, a keiki splash pool, an adults-only pool and a keiki dining program. The villas' kitchens help with food costs.
- Koloa Landing, Kauai: condo-style villas of up to 2,600 square feet on 25 acres in Poipu, and a three-level pool the resort says USA Today readers named the best hotel pool in America six years running. Its Winter Escape offer gives 20% off and a $100 resort credit on stays of five nights or more.
If your kids want a kids' club and unlimited ice cream on one bill, a Mexico or Caribbean family all-inclusive will cost less than any of these.

Hana-Maui Resort all-inclusive packages: what you actually get in 2026
Hana-Maui Resort, a Destination by Hyatt, is one of the most searched 'Hawaii all-inclusive' names, but its 2026 packages are not all-inclusive. Per the resort's packages page:
- The Spa Package: daily breakfast and two spa treatments, two-night minimum.
- Sunshine on Sale: up to 30% off stays of four nights or more, with daily breakfast for each registered guest.
- Plane to Paradise: a flight to Hana on a 10-seat Cessna, a $100 dining credit, a $100 spa credit and more.
- Hana Express: stay two nights and get a $100 resort credit and a round-trip flight on the resort's private plane.
The resort adds a $45 nightly resort fee. Hana Airport is 4 miles away; Kahului (OGG) is 51 miles by the famous Road to Hana, which takes most drivers several hours with stops (FAQ). Most rooms have no TV by design. Because Hana has only a handful of places to eat, a breakfast package plus dinners at the resort is the practical plan.

Best time to visit Hawaii, weather and hurricane risk
Hawaii is warm all year. At Honolulu's airport, NOAA's 1991–2020 normals show average highs from about 80 °F in January to 89 °F in August, with the dry season from April to October (under 1 inch of rain a month from April to September) and wetter months from November to March. Windward and mountain areas get far more rain than these leeward figures.
- April, May, September and October are the sweet spots: good weather, fewer families and lower prices.
- Mid-December to March is peak season, with whale watching off Maui and the highest rates.
- June to August is busy with families and warm, dry weather on leeward coasts.
Hurricanes are rarer than in Florida but do happen. In August 2026, Hawaii's DBEDT reported that Hurricane Lala passed south of the islands from August 14 to 16, causing extensive flooding, landslides, property damage and power outages, and that Tropical Storm Moke brought heavy rain and wind to parts of Hawaii Island and East Maui a week later. Check road conditions for the Road to Hana before you drive, and buy travel insurance for late-summer trips.

What travel-forum regulars say
Travel-forum consensus
This summary draws on the Tripadvisor Hawaii, Maui and Island of Hawaii forums. Most of these threads are several years old, with one recent Big Island thread, so treat specific package details in them as dated. The regulars' answer matches ours: Hawaii has no Caribbean-style all-inclusive resorts. What you can buy are breakfast-included rates, club-lounge access with snacks and drinks, resort credits and occasional meal plans at high-end hotels such as the Four Seasons properties. On Maui, posters long named the remote Hana resort (then Travaasa, now Hana-Maui Resort) as the closest thing to an all-inclusive, though its packages were optional, excluded alcohol and were limited to guests 16 and older. Regulars treat eating out as part of the trip and suggest a condo with a kitchen for families watching costs. One estimated meals at about $100 a person per day, well above the state's 2026 visitor average of $62.56 for food and drink. If you want the all-inclusive feel, the forum's advice and ours line up: price a food-credit package such as Hotel Wailea's against the room-only rate plus a realistic restaurant budget.
Maui regulars say there are no all-inclusives on the island. Hotels sell breakfast or club-level packages, some with snacks, drinks and desserts, the Four Seasons offers meal plans or resort credits, and the remote Hana resort (then Travaasa) was named as the closest thing to a true all-inclusive. This is an older thread.
Asked about all-inclusive hotels on the Big Island, regulars say there are no true all-inclusives there. The closest options are breakfast, meal-plan or resort-credit packages at a few high-end resorts, and renting a condo with a kitchen is the usual alternative for visitors who want to control food costs.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does Hawaii have all-inclusive resorts?
Not in the true sense. As of October 2026 we found no Hawaii resort that includes all meals, drinks and activities in one nightly rate, and the big all-inclusive brands have no resorts in the islands. What you can book are breakfast and food-credit packages, all-suite resorts with kitchens, and Norwegian's Pride of America cruise, which includes meals in its main restaurants on a 7-day loop from Honolulu.
Is Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa all-inclusive?
No. Aulani's rates cover your room, the pools, beach and kids' programming, but all meals are extra. Tripadvisor partners show average standard-room rates of about $665 to $2,108 a night before taxes, and many reviewers call it expensive for what you get. To manage costs, book a Disney Vacation Club villa with a kitchen and eat some meals at Ko Olina's other restaurants.
Does Hana-Maui Resort have all-inclusive packages?
Not in 2026. Hana-Maui Resort, a Destination by Hyatt, sells packages with daily breakfast (Sunshine on Sale), breakfast plus two spa treatments (The Spa Package), and a flight to Hana with a $100 dining credit and a $100 spa credit (Plane to Paradise). A $45 nightly resort fee applies. Older articles describing it as nearly all-inclusive date from its Travaasa era.
Are there adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii?
There are adults-only resorts but no adults-only all-inclusives. Hotel Wailea on Maui is 18 and over, has 72 suites, and offers a $1,000 food and beverage credit on stays of seven nights or more. Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort, opened in 2019 as Four Seasons' first adults-only wellness resort, with many wellness classes included and spa treatments extra.
How much should I budget for food in Hawaii?
Hawaii's DBEDT says visitors averaged $62.56 per person per day on food and drink from January to August 2026, including $42.69 at restaurants and $13.36 on groceries. That average includes people who cook. A couple eating most meals at resort restaurants should expect to spend much more, often $200 to $350 a day by our estimate, so food credits and kitchens matter.
Which Hawaiian island is best for families?
Oahu is easiest for families, with Aulani at Ko Olina, the most flights into Honolulu and the most to do. Maui's Wailea is better for beaches, and Fairmont Kea Lani's all-suite rooms, waterslide and keiki dining program make it our Maui family pick. On Kauai, Koloa Landing's villas and three-level pool on the sunny south shore suit families who want nature.
What is the closest thing to an all-inclusive vacation in Hawaii?
Norwegian Cruise Line's Pride of America. It sails year-round on seven-day round trips from Honolulu, visiting four islands and five ports with two overnight stays and no sea days, and meals in the included restaurants are part of the fare. Drinks packages, specialty dining, tips and shore excursions cost extra. It is the only U.S.-flagged cruise ship sailing in Hawaii.
When is the best time to visit Hawaii?
April, May, September and October usually bring good weather with lower prices and fewer crowds. Mid-December to March is peak season, and summer is busy with families. Honolulu's highs range from about 80 °F in January to 89 °F in August, and the leeward dry season brings under an inch of rain a month from April to September. Tropical storms are most likely in late summer and fall, as Hurricane Lala showed in August 2026.
